  1. Static hornets placed on the carrier at night have a glowing red interwing nav light as seen by the photo. This was done in a single player mission on Persian Gulf with the Supercarrier.

  4. Specs: i7-4790K @ 4.00 GHz MSI 1080ti 32 GB RAM I get much longer loading times than before and frequent crashes while cycling through skins in multiplayer games

  6. Hey guys, I've been retexturing the Mk82 to a grey color so the bombs looks a little more like the bombs being dropped by hornets & super hornets over in Syria. I'm just looking for a little advice on how to make the bomb look slightly more weathered. I'm not looking for highly identifiable marks that make it obvious that the same texture is used on each bomb, but enough slight rust & weathering to make the bomb not look brand new. Here's what I'm working with currently:
  7. Not sure how feasible it would be to edit the textures on the bow & the textures + lights on the island to have different CVN numbers for different ships. I'm not sure if the CVs differ in any large way from one another other than their identifying numbers. But for any that are similar to the current Stennis it seems like a pretty easy modification to give us more CVs to work with.

  9. I finally think I narrowed down my issue to simply dragging the folders from winrar. I tried it again by actually using the extract feature on winrar to my liveries folder & it is working fine now. Thanks for both of your help!!
  10. I have a liveries folder with a bunch of working skins already in it. I'm trying to install this skin: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301040/ I have tried taking the folders in the file & placing them into my liveries folder with my other working skins & it does not show up in game. The filepath being told to follow for this file is: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2.5.0\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet I'm simply trying to figure out how to get the liveries to work in my existing liveries folder (the same as the file path you put up) or some other alternative that doesn't involve placing the liveries in the actual game directory CoreMods folder so I won't mess with the actual game files & keep all my liveries in the same place.

I found one tutorial here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190778 and tried making a CoreMods directory (with the same filepath ...\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet) in my saved games folder, but the skins I have in the coremods folder still won't show up. Nor will they show up if I simply place them in the Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet folder that I have all my working skins in. Am I missing something? Sorry if I sound a little incompetent
  12. Is there any way to get liveries with a file path like: Eagle Dynamics\DCS\CoreMods\Aircraft\... to work in the saved games folder: User\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\... There are a few hornet skins I really like with the first type of file path but I'm trying not to mess with my actual game files & keep all my downloaded liveries in one place (the save game folder). Thanks
  13. In light of ED's latest post on facebook about the improved carrier flight deck captioned "a look at things to come", a question comes to mind. Generally are carrier ops or aircraft improvements taking precedent? By improvements I simply mean further additions like ATFLIR, A/G radar, JHMCS, more weaponry etc.
  14. I have a much better time off the cat with the aircraft trimmed out properly as others have pointed out. Typically just went with T/O trim (which is 12 degrees on the stabs) should be between 16-19 degrees. Now my cat launches are much smoother and feel much more like the real thing

I typically run a mission when I play online with a few of my friends, the mission is on the Persian Gulf map and meant to be a sandbox type so it has multiple trigger zones with different aircraft that will spawn, ground targets, orbiting tankers & a fleet of ships. What I've noticed is all my friends will initially connect to the server, then disconnect immediately. After reconnecting they are able to play fine but will get freezes whenever a bunch of units are spawned in and from time to time will freeze & get "connection timed out" or will stutter severely. What seems to be the problem is the more I add to the mission the harder it seems to be for them to connect. I try not to overload the mission with useless frame killing things but it appears the limits are pretty constraining. Does anyone have any methods for making missions more manageable for client's computers?
  16. Out of curiosity how would the F-16 perform in WVR dogfights? Better than the F-15? Better than the F/A-18? And if I'm not mistaken the F-16 will be able to carry all the A2A armaments both the F-15 & the F/A-18 can carry?
  17. Just curious what we should actually expect when flying with asymmetric loads like double ugly or some other similar load out. Is the aircraft going to fly as it normally would with the fly by wire/flight computer compensating for the difference in weight entirely? Or is the difference in weight eased but not entirely eliminated with the systems on the hornet? I tried flying with double ugly & the plane pulled pretty hard to the side with the fuel tank. Made me realize I don't actually know what to expect from the plane with loadouts like that.

  19. Of course that's always an option, was really just curious how much control we'll have over the pylons so we preferably wouldn't have to do that. I would assume like any other module you will be able to load certain stations with whatever you please. My question is more if the hornet is going to default to having all empty pylons with nothing selected & a non clean hornet selected or if it will default to a clean hornet and load the pylons as you load bags & ordnance. As well as if we'll have control over putting on & taking off empty pylons to achieve some of the configurations in the pictures.

I have seen posts from Wags saying we will be able to select clean hornets with no pylons, I have also seen the EA videos & screenshots that show the hornet with all it's pylons loaded with weapons. Just curious if we will be able to load certain pylons, not others and load empty pylons. A few examples of different configurations, to illustrate what I'm referring to:

    F-15E?

    I really hope the F-15E takes a bit of priority once the AG radar is developed. Merely my opinion obviously, but I think the modern strike aircraft really make the game.
  22. I recall Wags or someone from ED mentioning they were not going to comment on carriers beyond confirming Case I, II, & III operations being implemented at some point. My guess is they are going to start working out updated carrier mechanics, I'm sure to include pushing back, after the hornet is stable & released.
  23. Just curious, out of the squadron skins planned, are we going to be getting the CAG & Line hornets for each squadron? Or a mix of CAG & Line that cover each squadron?
