  1. Much appreciated fellas. Unfortunately I'm one of those that don't have a switch on my HOTAS to bind. I guess I'll just go back to flying the way I did back when the module launched and fly with the yaw channel turned off.
  2. I appreciate the help, but do you know what to set my special setting to in order to default the heading hold to off (if there is one)? I've tried using the button and that's just cumbersome, and using the different pedal movement options are workable, but they always wind up throwing my pedals out of trim (I don't want ANY pedal trim). If possible I'd perhaps like a toggle option to swap between heading hold and damper. I'm not able to speak on the realism of this change, but I can say for sure that until I can find some work-around, it's made my favorite heli module virtually unflyable.
  3. I knew something felt strange. I went to take off after the update and I couldn't get steady. Whatever they did in the update it messed up the Hind too. It's very frustrating and I hope they fix it quick.
  4. I agree. Whatever they did with this last patch was terrible. I'm literally giving it full right pedal and the AP is keeping me "coordinated" at a hover. I can't pedal turn and it's miserable. Just tried it again, and yah, if I give it right pedal at a hover, it will start to turn right, but then the AP will "correct" my pedals and move them back to neutral. I can continue this all the way up to full right pedal and the AP will still keep my in-game pedals centered. If I disengage the AP while these shenanigans are happening, then it seems to permanently "trim" my in-game pedals to whatever position they were at when AP was disengaged. Seems like the only way to make this thing flyable right now is to just never engage the Yaw AP and sacrifice any damping/assist. And I'm not sure whether or not to report this as a bug because since it's listed on the Changelog, I can only assume that's it's working as intended and just nobody decided to actually try to fly the thing before pushing out the update.
  5. Ok, so I tried it again, and went step-by-step with the Chucks guide for start-up and it now everything works like it's supposed to. A few things I did differently than usual: 1) I re-entered by starting coordinates (there were ~.1" off from what was in the Aircraft already) 2) Left the MAP and DL switches OFF Not sure what fixed it, but it's working now. Thx for the help.
  6. I have attached some screen shots from my most recent attempt. I allowed the engine to spool and power to generate before starting the alignment. I then allowed it to fully align (8.1/10). For reference, STPT 1 is my starting location. After aligning I taxied out and took off. Screenshots 2 and 3 show STPT 8 and 7 under A-G mode. You can see the ASL on the right, not lining up with the STPTs. I tried programming my own point, so STPT 27 was entered from scratch. The last 2 shots show STPT under A-G mode and NAV mode. Hopefully this provides some insight.
  7. I couldn't find anything in the Bugs, so I'm not sure if I'm just messing this up, or what. When I try doing CCRP bombing in the Viper, I (sometimes) cannot get the CCRP Azimuth Steering Line to move. I have a .TRK file, but it is too large to attach. To outline my procedure: 1) I Start the aircraft and allow the full 8 minute alignment with the INS 2) I take off 3) I select my GBU-12's and set them to CCRP mode 4) I cycle to my desired Steer Point via the UFC At this point I get the ASL, but no matter how much cycling I do through my Steer Points, I can never get the ASL to move. I have the Target Designator Box, and you can see it jump around, but the ASL never follows. I am playing on Multiplayer if that's relevant. I've had luck on other servers by manual entering my Steering Points, but in this server, which comes with SP's already loaded, this issue seems to happen. I have tried entering new points manually and re-entering the points provided, but to no avail. Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
  8. hung sounds Whenever i am killed or crash in MP, any sounds that were present at death, become "stuck" though my headphones. I have not noticed this with any other A/C besides the 342. For example, the other day I died while my RWR was giving me the warning tone, when I chose another helicopter (every helicopter I chose), the sound would continue to play ad infinitum. Same thing happened to me again tonight, where i crashed, and when I came back (first in a 342, then a Huey), I could still here the 342 engine whir as well as the pilot's heavy breathing. The only way I have found to fix this is to completely reset DCS and rejoin the game.
  9. I'm sorry if there is already something out there about this, but I've looked everywhere and haven't found any answers. Does the communications menu work in the C-101 right now? I've tried the "\" key, I've tried "Ralt+\", and i've even looked for a radio key in the cockpit, but to no avail. I have made sure that the keys have bindings through the control menu. If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be awesome!
  10. Is this what you are talking about? Because I have (kind of) been having the same issue. I get the trail, but for me it happens regardless of how I am flying. I can be at 50% or 100% throttle, water/oil temp at 0 degrees or 150 degrees, and it will still just randomly show up. Has anyone found a fix for it, or if ED plans to patch it soon? This is very frustrating to have a long grey trail leading straight to your aircraft in a dogfight.
  11. It's hard to tell exactly where it is coming from. I wish i had got a screen shot of it, but it honestly looks like it's coming from behind the dash (in F2 external, the smoke trail just clips through most of the aircraft). I was just flying, and it started up as usual, but it went away after I started just fooling around (100% throttle, MW-50 on, just generally flying crazy). I can't seem to find a consistent pattern to make it start or stop other than to just fly and watch it happen. I've attached a screenshot of my cockpit a few seconds after it started. The second picture shows my trail from my previous aircraft in the distance just over the end of the runway (which I crashed over an hour ago, and the trail was still there).
  12. What is this trail following behind me? It usually starts about 6-7 minutes into my flight and when it starts, there is no way to stop it without getting a new plane. I'm not overheating, and I am not running 100% throttle, I am usually at about 80% and climbing when it happens. I have tried keeping the radiator flaps open manually, but that did not seem to help. The smoke trail persists and never dissipates, the picture of me on the ground was taken from a standstill after about 5 minutes of sitting there just to verify no change in opacity. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it.
  13. Has anyone else been experiencing crazy frame rate drops compared to 1.2? Or maybe someone can help me out with a fix. I know that DX9 was prone to crashes, but at least until it crashed I could count on steady frame rate. Idk if DX11 is even worth the issues I have been having frame rate wise. It seems that while flying, things are generally smooth running at a 40-50 fps, but AS SOON AS I get close to the ground for dropping bombs or landings/takeoffs, the game will just drop to less than a single frame a second. Obviously this is a problem because even though it looks stopped to me, the game is in fact still running and it has caused several crashes and headaches. It has gotten to the point that the game is almost unplayable for me. I have tried lowering my settings and have seen no difference. I'd like to say that it isn't a graphics issue since the drops will happen for the most random things. For instance, I will land smooth, but as soon as the radio menu comes up, I drop frame rate. Or in the Ka-50, I will be flying fine, and I turn on the Shkval fine, but as soon as I slave the Shkval from sky to ground, I get frame rate drop. Sometimes it happens just hovering helicopters or taxing aircraft down the taxiway. I am really disappointed because this is probably my favorite sim ever, and now I can't play a single session without wanting to tear my eyeballs out.
