  1. Good day folks,

I'm looking to save some serious time with setting up each button on my F18. Everytime I have used a TARGET profile I have had issues. With every update I'm at a loss and have to reload everything. Is there a .diff.lua already that someone has done in a painstakingly precise manner to get their HOTAS Warthog juuust right that they'd be willing to share with a fellow Hornet driver? I'd really appreciate it. If not, can someone tell me how, without TARGET, one can program their joystick to use 2 buttons ie paddle button held down while moving TWS to the left or right?

    Thanks so much

  3. Hey folks, I know there are several choices of missions and campaigns out there. Which ones are a must and ok for a learning, eager newbie to fly and enjoy?

How about any learning campaigns like Maple Flag did in the past for the A-10? Those were fantastic.

Edit: Looked up Maple Flag and voila they have BFM tutorials...I will be dl'ing those today. Any others out there folks are proud of? I don't want to fly gates, i want to learn how to put LGBs on target.

  4. Here is the .tmc's location...https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300626/. I've found that once the profile is loaded into TARGET and then I start the game if I load the AXIS.diff into my rudder column i can fly and not have the cannon ever fail however, the left throttle is now stuck in the 85% position. Once I reassign the AXIS.diff to the Virtual column, I can pull the cannon trigger once and then the keyboard and the gun both stop working.

    Thanks for any help

  5. Good morning techies,

Got a quick question. I ran the Thrustmaster TARGET software and upload the .tmc created by Gullaume off the user files page and this is the output once loaded up. Are there any USB/HID device experts who can tell me what the errors are for?

When I start up DCS after I've loaded the profile the cannon trigger in both detents works and after one pass and a pullup, both the trigger and my keyboard die. image attached and thank you in advance

  6. I'm in a weird position in my flying background. Approx 5500 hours or so at last memory of logbook in real world aviation to include CFI, CFII MEI instruction but that was 2003-2005 when I wore those monikers. Commercial jet pilot (FO) at the regional level in CRJs/ERJs from 2005-2010. Got fed up in 2010 and wanted to make more money so i said goodbye to the blue sky world. Nowadays I make a great living in the oil industry so flying on the side to stay somewhat current is my aim as I one day will get an aircraft of my own but I'm waiting on further advancements in technology.

With that said, I'm very interested in this group as I'm also former Navy on P-3 Orions (now the P-8) wtih VP-16 out of Jax FL. Would love to become a student to clear out the cobwebs. Thanks for spending your valuable volunteering hours putting this together.

  7. i frankly cannot wait. I just bought a Rift S at lunch. Last night while flying in instrument conditions down to minimums I had had it with trying to zoom in to seeing my baro setting. Using NOiD's Warthog Hotas joystick profile I didn't have a way to zoom in with VR. I'm now done and glad I bit the bullet. Now I will have to see how my existing system behaves, AMD Ryzen 5 1900 32GB of RAM and a 1080ti card...

Thanks for the reviews and Matt's glowing review (unabashed) as that sealed my fate at the checkout line.

  8. Yeah I was just looking to see if anyone had spent the time creating a CAP mission with various position changes so one could practice formations. That's all. I flew for 4 hours last night with squad members and it was a blast, communicating speeds, turn angles, etc. Didn't know if you could automate that into a mission profile.

  9. Hello all,

How hard, or easy, would it be to create a mulitiplayer mission that would allow for formation calls, in and out of IMC, calls for parade formation, echelon left or right, etc...

Would love one of you gurus to create something like this. I'm terrible at stuff like this. I imagine a little time with the mission editor

  10. Well I screwed the pooch and copied the files without backing up my originals so now I'm integrity screwed. What files do I need to recover and can I without a total reinstall? Any help please!

I also have a terrible almost dizzy effect while in VR. Is there some setting I have in graphics that is causing this? Thanks for a great mod!

  11. Yes I noticed some of the suggestions; it's just super frustrating to see the silly VR debate come up over and over, it's tiresome. 1.6 pixel density noted, is 2.2 causing blurriness? What is 2XAA? No clue. There is MPAA and SXAA so I don't know the difference. Anyone make a profile that works great under their Nvidia settings that might promote performance?

  12. And just as expected here comes the same useless debate again. That particular horse has been dead for quite a while now.

The OP only wanted to know what he could do to see the ball more easily, some settings tweaks and/or using the VR zoom should do the trick, the end.

Good lord and AMEN MajorBug, thankyou. Was ONLY looking for techniques or settings used. Sheesh people. Thanks for the GD debate. I have thousands of hours of REAL FLIGHT TIME flying mf'ing airliners. I just wanted a more realistic view point and wanted suggestions, not an argument.

    Guess I will look elsewhere.

  13. Hey folks,

Anyone have a good settings gouge for VR detail. I know that the headset creates a screen door effect. I upped my memory to 32G and I can max out a lot but it's probably not going to help me see the ball crisply like TrackIR folks see. Any thoughts? Yes I modded the ball to the bigger size so I could see it but beyond that it is blurry and I fly based on sight picture AOA and LSO call outs.

Have any other VR guys found a sweet spot for visuals?

    Thanks

  14. Realistic multi carrier ops?

Hey guys, I know I will get a lot of varied responses here but I am looking for a group that does very realistic Carrier Ops and gets together on a semi-regular basis. I won't always be able to make it but would love to have the opportunity to fly with some people to at least take this a little bit seriously. I would love to see your group it takes into account stacking as well as spinning and regular boat recoveries. Is there a resource where I can see all the different virtual squadrons? I know I could dig but time is my one precious resource. Is Discord the thing to use to make comms easier between players? New to all of this but not new to real flying.

  15. moneys on you running stable version

right now the fa-18 is only downloadable on open beta branch

fa-18 module will later be released to stable branch after ed feels comfortable with version stability

migration to ob branch is simple and can be done with just a command line parameter

    https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

So I just follow these guidelines to make my openbeta branch functional?

I can't just download openbeta and voila! be working?
