  1. Reflected's post in Are there any plans to release a version of this campaign on the Normandy 2 map? was marked as the answer
I can't port a mission from one map to another without completely redoing it from scratch. Every trigger line.
Then, the N2 map doesn't have some of the places where the campaign takes place - e.g. Amiens Prison? So I need to find new targets, which means all voice overs go to the trash and I need new ones, as well as briefings, briefing images and kneeboard pages.
The only thing I could use from V for Victory would be the Mossie skins.

  2. Reflected's post in Random Controller Question was marked as the answer
Hi, no this is not something the mission can control.
  3. Reflected's post in Mission 3 - Caboose and Cobweb don't split up was marked as the answer
Then it's probably the stop flag bug that has been present in MT since its release. You can do 2 things:
    a) wait for ED to finally fix it
    b) tune down your gfx settings hoping that the game won't be too busy to miss the flag
EDIT: If anyone ever sees such a bug, please save the track and post it here so I can forward it to ED. Hopefully it will help them find a solution. Thanks!

  4. Reflected's post in Mission 2 & 3 AAR in 2.9 was marked as the answer
You need to use the push to talk button of the ARC-182 radio because easy comms are forced off:

  5. Reflected's post in Mission 9 & 10 was marked as the answer
Waaaitaminute. You CAN reach mother on the specified radio channel. Look, they’re all set to 352. Chig automatically sets the back radio, you just need to press the ptt button.

DCS only supports a single freq for the carrier, so don’t worry about what’s on your kneeboard. It’s the channels that matter.

And you should definitely not be messing with the front radio, comms are the RIO’s job. During ops the front radio is always set to squadron tac.
  6. Reflected's post in Mission 14 fouled deck was marked as the answer
Sorry, it’s not scripted, 100% DCS AI
  7. Reflected's post in AI Mustang speed was marked as the answer
The ai flies at or below max continuous. So 46” and 2700.

the keyword is ‘appears’. Even at full power the closing in a warbird will be 10-20 knots and it takes time. It’s as simple as that. Especially in a climb it can take forever to catch up if you mess up, even at full throttle.

btw max continuous is just that. To catch up you need to add power. Even full power at times.

don’t judge the AI’s speed unless you’re flying wingtip to wingtip with them
Sorry but I have no orher advice than ‘Straighten up and fly right’. Check out my Mustang tutorial and ‘How to fly with the AI’ to make sure you’re flying as you should.

PS: unless you’re running emergencu mixture. That’s a typical mistake

  8. Reflected's post in Mission 7 - nobody takes off was marked as the answer
DAMN! Thanks for the heads up. Looks like the AI considers the runway blocked forever just because an infantry guy crossed the OTHER runway at some point before. This is utterly stupid and it wasn't a problem for the past 6 months or so. I will report to ED.
Until then there is an easy fix: just open the mission in the editor and delete this soldier and the mission will work:

  9. Reflected's post in Can´t find Lead via TACAN respectively D/L was marked as the answer
It’s because Heatblur hasn’t implemented A/A TACAN for the Tomcat.
  10. Reflected's post in Mission 8: C17 won't fit on this ship, sir! was marked as the answer
Wow, the C-17 should definitely not land on a carrier…

    as for the comms:

  11. Reflected's post in Mission 01 - Blue 1 in a hurry. was marked as the answer
    AAAH MAAAN....
Sometime in the last few days before the update and the release, something changed. Now the player doesn't spawn where he's assigned to, so no wonder the whole taxi order is a mess. I'm beyond p*ssed, how can Ugra pull something like this just before release?!
I'm now testing what exactly they messed up. Great...
  12. Reflected's post in Mission 12 - did not complete after landing was marked as the answer
It should complete, unless you die. I checked the triggers they're fine, sounds like your DCS is corrupted by some unofficial mod or something.
  13. Reflected's post in Takeoff timing - mission 1 was marked as the answer
The in game time is UTC so it’s 2 hours behind local time. Yes, in WW2 the UK was in a different time zone.
  14. Reflected's post in FPS/ performance when landing at Nellis is horrible was marked as the answer
Are you suggesting I should remove the few parked planes until ED comes up with a better solution to load textures than the one they implemented with the MT build ? 🙂 I'm sorry I won't. I can't always adapt missions to what's working and what's broken in the core game.
And again, the mission can be only blamed for performance issues if it has an unreasonable amount of units/ statics, but this is definitely not the case in Zone 5. And most of those are old, low poly statics too. Of course performance will be worse than over an empty map, but believe me, removing the statics is not the solution.
The proximity of Vegas is a way bigger FPS hit.
  15. Reflected's post in Paco's terminology - what is "mil" power? was marked as the answer
He’ll refer to full burner as ‘gate’ later in the campaign. Mil power is full power without burners.
  16. Reflected's post in Mission 3 AI position and collision lights are off was marked as the answer
I know, unfortunately the mission editor has no control over the AI’s lights 😞
  17. Reflected's post in Tips for flying formation with AI? was marked as the answer
Yeah how fast the AI rolls is hard coded in DCS. I can't change it. TBH Paco suggested turns that are even harder, more bank angle. What I noticed is that in 2D, parade formation is really stretching it, always about to collide, but when I first tried in VR it was easier than cruise form in 2D
  18. Reflected's post in Mission 2. No Paco radio audio was marked as the answer
I just tested both the takeoff part and the parade part, it works as advertised. You're not getting any radio messages in any of them? Check your radio volume knobs.
Also, do you have any unofficial mods installed? I mean any. Assets, planes, anything.
  19. Reflected's post in ACLS Enabled? was marked as the answer
You have the needles for all case 3s. But doing your carrier quals with ACLS is kinda cheating wouldn’t you agree? 😉
  20. Reflected's post in Mission 2: Manston AAA firing at friendly flight was marked as the answer
I guess somebody ignored RAF night flying procedures and was mistaken for a stray Heinkel 😉

  21. Reflected's post in Can't get past intro mission was marked as the answer
Once you see "Mission Complete" you hit Esc and click "end mission".
If that doesn't work, make sure you remove every mod from your DCS install, then run a repair.
  22. Reflected's post in M12, shell tanker no contact when tex tanker in the air was marked as the answer
Ok, I changed the tanker’s tasking a bit so it won’t rtb even if it’s bingo. That’s all I can do but if it’s out of fuel it’s out of fuel
  23. Reflected's post in Mission 2 AAR was marked as the answer
    Hi,

    please find my answers below:
    1) not sure why you’re telling this to me, and not the dcs AI team? The dcs AI has forever been so erratic and there is not a thing I can do about this in the mission editor.

    2) see above. It’s a built-in core dcs function. I have no control over it in the editor. Try getting closer though, and make sure your probe is out.

    3) the answer is in the campaign documentation pdf: missions are complete once you land and see the ‘Mission complete’ sign
  24. Reflected's post in Random Q about carrier crew was marked as the answer
Aaaah, him! Yeah, that’s the weight board so they can set the cat properly. The RIO either ok-s the weight or shows up or down until they get it right.
  25. Reflected's post in Mission 5 - Paco's phrase "Take tac on my left/right wing"? was marked as the answer
The first time he says it there is an on screen message too, to help you. Basically you spread out to 1 mile abeam into ‘tactical spread’ formation
