  1. Thanks BrumTx, I'll try the uninstall of LOMAC tonight. Thanks again.
  2. BrumTx, Yes, I had done the regedit clearing as well as the deleting of the left-over folders. What I have not done is a complete uninstall of LockOn/ Flaming Cliffs yet or resintall it. I am trying to avoid having to do this, but it looks like it might be the shortest route. This will be the last time I update Modman on my computer unless absolutely required.
  3. Vekkinho, I thought of that too, mind that I first tried with those files in place. But then I did not delete those files but just moved them. I tried putting them back also and still nothing. So I tried with the files in place, without them and with them put back to no avail. I wish they would fix Modman to prevent this from happening. Now I remember why I hesitated for so long upgrading beyond 6.3.0.1
  4. Mine is still messed up. I have emptied my screenshots folder, temp folder and even moved the files from the temptextures folder to a desktop folder, but Modman 7.1.1.0 still hangs on me at the checking FID message. I left it running last night for over 1 hr, but it never came back. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times. Clearing the registry of everything "Modman" and then reinstalling. I even tried reinstalling the 6.3.0.1 version but it now does the same thing the latest install wants to do. Not sure what else to do here, so if someone has information on how to fix this please post it.
  5. Anyone ever resolve this with Modman? I have the same problem when I tried to install Modman 7.1.1.0 from Modman 6. Followed instructions a=but hangs as the 1st poster here.
  6. My personal experience and experiments sum up to my suggesting that if you want to run BlackShark with the most amount of FPS possible, that you don't install it under XP. Better to do as most of us do and install Vista in a dual-boot configuration (leaving most all of your sims and games in XP) and boot into Vista (32 or 64bit) for BlackShark setting your affinity using one of the many forms on these forums (just do a search for "affinity") to your dual or quad core processor for a very noticeable in-game fps increase. On one of my pc's, I even created a triple boot with XP installed first, then Vista x64 bit and then Windows7 Beta. I have Blackshark installed on all 3 OS's and it runs good-fast in XP, runs even better-faster in Vista and in Windows7 it runs the fastest. All of these tested with the same max graphics settings, on the same pc, just different Operating Systems. For help with dual booting XP and Vista (with XP installed first) or dual booting Vista and XP (with Vista installed first) just google for these terms and you will find plenty of help. When dual booting, use BCDEdit or VistaBootPro (there are still sites offering this 2nd one for free) to edit and customize your dual boot system to boot the way you desire. You can have it so that XP boots 1st by default if no button is pressed or Vista, up to you.
  7. Not even worth trying to set the affinity in XP (32 or 64) everyone, many of us have tried it from every angle, when BS Russian version first became available. Now on Vista32, Vista64 and Windows7 it works real well, as you get huge perfromance gains setting the game to run on multiple cores manually.
  8. defcon, run it in Vista and use the affinity tweaks here on this forum ( search for it, I use Jesse's but there are 3 or 4 of them) and gain even better fps on that system. Many of us have installed Vista as a dual boot for this very reason.
  9. probably better to deactivate it first, since you won't lose that activation anyways.
  10. It sure is Flanker15, this is one of the reasons when it was first discovered, I tested it to make sure on two different dual boot systems using both XP and Vista ( both 32 and 64 bit OS's) and reported that I would have never believed it, but yet Blackshark is a great reason to move to the Vista operating system since it runs it better than XP does.
  11. If you read throughout the forums on this topic ( affinity and dual cores) you will find that with XP, there is no fix to get more fps. But using Vista's operating system (32 and 64 bit versions) you can see as much as 20 fps more than you get with XP.
  12. llama, in an effort to help you, please let us know a few things. 1st: What OS are you using? (The tweak is for Vista) 2nd: Make sure you follow the instructions listed in this and other forums listed within this one via links. The entire contents of Wombats scripts (found at bottom of 1st page of this thread) should be unzipped and the individual files put into the root of the KA-50 folder ( not in their own folder ). Create a shortcut and use only the appropriate *.cmd file, example: there are 2 core and 4 core cmd files. Instructions here: Download the file attached to this post. Extract contents to your x:\Program Files (x86)\1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 this is the default location. Replace the SP and MP shortcuts on your desktop with shortcuts to the appropriate SP and MP .cmd files.
  13. Wow, very nice mission. Successfully completed it, I like the message at the end when arriving back at the base...nice touch!!!! Thank-you ronht for making these missions.
  14. As soon as I get the info I will post it for you graywo1f. I am now contemplating making a glove for my left hand, so that I can leave my right hand on the stick at all times.
