  1. Oh my... figured it all out... what a night's rest can do... It seems the 2.11.222.01 version is the latest one... and Flood/Instruments Light Toggle was probably added by the creators of this Mod to activate the cockpit lights. Above all, a little bit of searching on this wonderful site made me discover the skins of jocko417. The Belgian skins can be used with the 222.01 version, but his "Shared" zip must be put in the Liveries of the F-104G too. Solved! Nevertheless, Urbi, thanks for your concern and as a matter of fact your reply made me search thoroughly this morning with finding the solution as a nice result...
  2. Just discovered something... In version 2.11.222.01 there is a keyboard shortcut which is called Flood/Instruments Lights Toggle under Systems. It must set to own preference, but... it works! Cockpit lights turn on! This option is not available for the 2.7.5.01 though, which is a pitty for me because I cannot use the Belgian skin in the 2.11.222.01 version. Still I wonder if there is not a newer version of this magnificent Mod available... Or skins for the Belgian version I can use on the 222.01 version...
  3. Sorry Urbi but I cannot find "Cockpit Light Toggle" under the keyboard shortcuts. I wonder if I have the correct Mod... I have "Illuminate Cockpit" in the F-104 shortcuts which is L by default but this does not work at all. The Mod I have is the VSN _F104G_v2.7.5.01+FC3+F104+EFM. This is the version where the liveries of the Belgian F-104G version work. I also have tried out the 2.7.10.01 and the 2.11.222.01 but as the skin of the Belgian version turns out 'distorted - the metal skin is devided in little metal like squares' I have the 2.7.5.01 installed. But I can assure you, on not a single one of all these versions the cockpit lights can be put on. May be there is already another, more updated version available? Jenato
  4. Have a question about the cockpit lights. May be stupid but... I cannot turn them on. I created a night mission and it is impossible to fly it because gauges cannot be illuminated. There is a setting though in Controls/Systems/Illumination Cockpit which is L by default but... not working for me. Can this be solved, one way or another? Jenato
  5. BTW, I changed my profile photo a few moments ago. It is the one I also use on the SAS and IL-2 BOS/BOM forum. Does it not ring a bell?
  6. Right, I had some time to sleep over it. The software for the HOTAS Joystick should be the one from Logitech. Once the program has been set on hold, open DCS. Go to Options and Controls. Keep in mind you shall have to program everything seperately for every single plane you fly. Go to Modifiers and open the Modifiers Panel. By default, it stands on Keyboard. Click on the arrow down and select the Saitek Pro Flight X-56 Rhino Throttle. Attention: your Mode Button must be put on M1. Change it to M2 next. You will see Joy_BTN 35 appear. Click OK Select S1 next. Joy_BTN 36 appears. Click OK and OK again. Go to one of the planes you have in Options. I took the A-10A as simple example. In search you type canopy, just to try things out… In the column responding with the throttle, which should be empty and if not, clear it and see to it the Mode button is set to M1. Click next to Modifiers on the button Add. And now the magic…or logic… Put the Mode button on M2. In “Add Modifier” Joy_BTN 35 appears. Take the tumble switch SW4 just for tryers…. In Key/Button Joy_BTN 9 appears. Click on OK. Click on Green OK to activate the changes. Try out the button combination by starting up a flight. In my case the A-10A. Important: put your Mode button on the JS back to M1 before entering the cockpit. Once DCS is running fully and you are in the plane: set your Mode button on M2 and active SW-4. The canopy should go down. Activate SW-4 again and the canopy goes back up again! This procedure can be used to bind every button and flip switch to the M2 and the S1 position. M1 is default so combining with this position is rather useless. So, keep in mind to start every pre-binding phase in the M-1 position so you can change fluently to M2 and S1. Should you be coincidentally in the M-2 position whilst you were intending to bind a button in S1, no problem because you can clear out the “Add Modifier” and “Key/Button” zones in de “Add” section. I hope I have been of help with my explanation… All the best and check your six, Jenato
  7. Hello TabascO, I had the same problem and have been pulling my hair out of my head. Not on this forum, nor anywhere else I found a single solution or suitable answer. I found people who can use the Mode button with the M1-M2-S1 settings without any problem, others, like we... are frustrated it does not work. So, I started to figure out how to solve it. I have a very analytical brain, so I love to figure out how things work or not. I did not find a solution as such to be honest, but discovered it is all a matter of the correct use of the things we already have and the method behind it. So, this is my first question to you: do you have the software of the Saitek HOTAS X-56 installed. I have. I read on several forums many DCS pilots deleted this software and cleared the HOTAS drivers... However, I discovered it is possible to switch off this software rather easily. This is the first step to get where you want to be. I have a HOTAS software icon in my taskbar on which I can right click to “Clear” it. This way it is not removed of course, but temporarily put out of action, if you like. Do you have the ability “put off” the HOTAS software? If so, I can help you out, I think...
  8. I created two missions to train myself in flying the MiG-19. In Options/Gameplay/Difficulties I unchecked everything except the Tooltips and F10 MapUserMarks. On more than one occasion the last few days the Speedbrakes became active while I didn't want them to - this happened shortly after take off - and though I retracted the landing gear, and secured the lever, at a certain moment the gear dropped again, also shortly after take of, without commanding them to do so. Can this happen because I didn't reach a speed higher than 300 km/hr at that moment and, more important maybe: if the pilot in the Log Book has been set to Immortal, can this be a factor why the MiG-19 is not handling according to the "realistic" settings?
