This is an interesting new development, Samsung may be in it in a serious way. This has the potential for life like lighting levels and colors. Not to mention clarity. This and Samsung's announcement they are seriously back into it with an XR reality HMD which is getting close to the production phase. Seems a race between them and Apple is on.

It's dirt cheap when you compare what the real deal would run you in training, fuel, and air frame costs or rentals. Not to mention your limited to bug smashers and can forget about jet's, helicopters, and aircraft carriers or any combat environment with weaponry. When you look at it that way investing in good kit is suddenly a real bargain when compared.

Vrgineers are doing sterling work in pioneering what XR really should be, they are the only ones with a realistic, practical, and usable solution, so far. Hope it bleeds over to other affordable consumer sets for folks like us. Their idea of range limiting the focal point of high res cameras within reaching distance and blending into VR actually works, the room length attempts by the meta idiots doesn't, and never will, since there is no possible way to detect the human eyes current intended focal distance. What it allows one to do is read and use an actual physical kneeboard and see your controllers while in the VR pit. Not possible in any others XR attempts at any sort of usable sharpness and focus as of yet.

Random question, as someone thats excited in the F4 for some cold war liberation campaigns, but doesnt know much about the aircraft:
Whats the F-4Es weakness, compared to contemporaries, ignoring F14/15? To elaborate:
Just reading up about the thing sounds like its some fantasy-plane. Its an interceptor that can fly very fast, got good range, great AA and AG loadouts, the slat-variant can even outturn a lot of interceptors of the day. Biggest issue seems to be "its a bit difficult to fly/control", which is alleviated by being a two seater. Thats not even talking about Avionics and weapons, with solid BVR weapons, early LGBs, Mavericks and various computers.
So is the IRL F-4E just completely "overpowered", for a gamey term, to most other aircraft of the day until the F-Tens drop? Or is there some nuance im missing?
Think many will get a surprise when it comes to fuel consumption with careless use of afterburners, you can pretty much burn through a double digit percentage of your internals in 60 seconds of use.

3160 x 3096 is default on mine. Not sure if they all run exactly the same, but that should be close to ball park for a G-2. Strange we have different ratios of horizontal to vertical.

At high altitude above horizon it's absolutely possible. Practically zero atmospheric distortion up at 35K, if it's not moving directly toward you having relative mostion, your wind shields are clean with good quality, and your eyes are any good at all you will see it. Altitude and the resulting atmospheric conditions matter, a professional should know this, it's relative to any study. Actual conditions seem omitted from any mention in these, but the atmosphere is already halved at 5K and distortions already drop significantly.
Betting these are in the weeds studies. High altitude intercept pilot is a whole other ball game.

Same issue since the last patch, can see the sea floor, no water in close, boats appear suspended in air. Did repair, cleaning, game is stock and MFAA was never on, everything is pretty much stock settings in NV panel except performance to high. Cleaning shaders and fxo did nothing.

You can bet your hind end Kirk66 and a few other phantom vets disappeared from these boards because they're currently busy flying the piss out of it.

I'll wait for Apple and Samsung's reveals right around the corner, just may equal or beat anything current, we'll see shortly. Both will utilize XR format, no not openXR, but true pass thru high res blending known as extended reality, XR. Should be able to clearly see your controllers or real world knee board. How they're going to do it remains to be seen. Watch a few vids on the Varjo XR-3 in action with their version of implementation, make you drool, but that price point is out of range and we aren't the targeted customer.

Technically you can get below sea level in a huey, inside the wake of the biggest supertanker when its at speed.

Started out with it off, had crashes, turning it off the crashes stopped.

Not a whole lot of AMD users frankly. You've chosen the narrow path, not much help on that one.

Well if your paying attention in the development pictures and screenshots they are doing a 3D laser mapping scan off a German F-4F's cockpit, so a big part of the in game phantom is apparently developed off one, they're so close you can build one off the other either way.

You get extra melodrama points if you can find where anybody besides you said any purchase hinges on it...

If the developer were clever, could they not release the skin basic ahead of schedule, so that those really gifted artists could do the work for them. Allowing the developer to remain focused on the flight model etc. The Forum then becomes a discussion pointy on which in-game provided skins we get as I am sure I'm gonna need a whole new drive (!) just to store the multitude of home made skins that6 are bound to accompany this release.
You'd end up with a lot of wasted effort, there's always areas on the model that have to be custom fitted, since the 2D texture gets stretched and wrapped around a 3D model. There's a whole lot of distortions going on and they need to be compensated for. Why they call it an art, takes some talent and a good eye to do it right. Not possible to do without the model to continually check your progress as you work, what looks good and right on the 2D map doesn't on the model. The developer is more clever than that.

The coloring of the airfield concrete is off, the buildings are correct for local sourced concrete material, the airfields are wrong. Been to Cairo West a few times a couple centuries ago and that was a very noticeable feature, so much so it was difficult to find the actual runway. At the time they had multiple decoy marked runways and taxi ways scratched into the sand, along with multiple derelict badgers and other obsolete aircraft parked as decoys.
Here's a current day Cairo IAP as compared to in game, quite a notable difference.

It had an impact on me, bought one yesterday, and will pay any toll for it's Grandpappy!

Hope they have the windup sounds when the -60 starts and the huff when it gets an air load applied, would be cool as F. Those carts are exceedingly loud, especially when you have multiple carts on the line doing a mass start.

Will the seat have different modes? Such as automatic separation for preset altitude and speed and a pilot controlled manual separation.

If you've ever served in any military than you know in reality there is no such thing as a secret, there are however arrests and punishments for revealing information your not suppose to posses or deliberately gaining knowledge of things your not suppose to have access too.

Those are Oculus specific acronyms, Oculus Tool Tray - OTT, the app they're using to set super sampling in their headsets, and Asynchronous warp - ASW, the term their app uses for everyone else knows as reprojection. You might want to put in higher super sampling if your using some sort of down scaling effects first, that can deliver a comparable high quality image from a lower cost off the GPU in some HMD's.

Something not right about Pimax, try finding a new one, the only thing available is refurbished, you can't find a late model new one anywhere. Another red flag, why is their flag ship 8k x not even in production, how long has it been gone, makes one wonder what is their real market share.
Or are they actually running a controlled recycling and rebuild program selling the same units multiple times? Very suspicious, multiple store fronts but all pretty much with no product, not even base accessories.

Or you can wait and see what Extended Reality -XR brings to the table, which allows for high res pass through and blending.
Varjo is leading the drive so far, but sony and samsung have XR sets soon to be revealed.

Too see it practically applied.
