  1. Clean install the latest graphics drivers and see what that does.
  2. It's been report by real hog pilots that they can't see the whole of the HUD and they have to move their heads a bit. Maybe that news hasn't reach you sausage side until now.
  3. Sorry, on my correctly setup system, running the beta, it's fine. As in real life, I have to move my head a small amount to see some of it. So what I'm getting is realistic. Too realistic for crybabies though.
  4. Same here. If you want a realistic view then get VR. 2D is dead for true simulation fans.
  5. yeah, he's got a lot to learn about 'correct' 'proper' 'acceptable' ways of flying in DCS.
  6. Well said. I’m completely happy with my CV1 resolution and silky smooth frame rate. I can operate the A10C just fine and I don’t like being told I’m being disingenuous when I say that.
  7. i keep forgetting we have 'professionals' in here, or 'serious competitors' as they sometimes call themselves.
  8. In Elite Dangerous I aften park the old Cobre III in Earth orbit and just sit there mesmerized by the view. The same thing on a monitor is meh. Same for sitting in a perfect reproduction of a cockpit. I want to be enveloped by the virtual world not merely peering at miniature version of it through a small window. I think even the OP wants that But then you have the throwbacks who have drawn a redline all around VR over which they will never cross and they will never stop dissing VR and VR users. The fact they show up at all in VR forums is an act of trolling.
  9. The 2D crowd are totally obsessed with frame rates and they just can't deal with 45 feeling as smooth as 90. To them 'it's half so it must be half as good'.
  10. VR it the right answers. 2d might as well be a playing card version of flying, it’s so far removed from reality.
  11. No it's not false. Have you checked every single user's VR performance? Er, no, you haven't so go find another hobby other than VR trolling. You aren't needed or wanted here by the majority.
  12. I got Track iR back in 1999 and it was a revelation but that was ever so such a long time ago. :)
  13. You know nothing. Your own opinions seem to be based upon your own lack of ability. I can deploy an A-10C into the battle area, destroy things and egress out again totally without issue in VR. Doing the same in 2d is utterly unfulfilling. I'm not interested in flying drones from drone stations because its old hat and lame AF.
  14. Well said. And don't forget the cost and the value for money of DCS. You get to blow stuff up and in VR it looks good. Oh yeah, seeing a sam launch at you in VR - so cool.
  15. I'm not here to press buttons. I look at those home cockpits all surrounded by button boxes and they all look ridiculous to me. Take the A-10C, pretty much everything I want is on the sticks anyway.
  16. The whole point of sims like DCS is to be as accurate as possible and that means tailoring the sim for VR. 2D users annoy me because they always try to block progress.
  17. I use a combination of voice attack and the head controlled mouse. Every switch and dial can be voice controlled.
  18. ASW is silky smooth on my setup. Only time I have frame rate issues is when taxiing on airfields with lots of ground clutter. 2D isn't full level simulation anymore. 2D is more like flying from a drone station. DCS in 2D is just a novelty gaming experience.
  19. Yeah, right. Have you always suffered badly from buyer's remorse?
  20. 2d flying and racing is a no go for me after VR. My nearly 4yr old pc and CV1 run DCS like a dream. I can operate the A-10C without any problems at all in VR. Didn’t have to do much tweaking to achieve smooth as silk results. 2d DCS is totally sad compared to VR.
  21. The whole point of HOTAS is to be able to operate the controls in battle by feel. You don’t know about that which you speak.
