  1. Its the EDGE 2.8 Vertex Render Shader not working with vertex normals getting detected from split polygon element.

  3. I find I have to be at a good attack angle when going in for a strike. Otherwise half the time a tree takes the missile or the missile loses track because of the target getting masked. Also gotta stop giving him a bottle of Vodka first thing in the morning.
  4. So yes tools and operation are the same but it is not the same after that. Any files made on the student version are encoded with a licence and property that it was created with a student version and anyone while using a Student copy exports an FBX file it too will inherit the property. If you try to sell or sent the file to someone it will alert and remind you every time that file is opened or used. If you do anything and charge for it even if it isn't DCS, Autodesk has ways of finding that out. Yah they work in Non-VR pretty easily but whenever I try it in VR hitting Alt + C ends up making it so I cant touch any of it with the mouse and none of it gives me any feedback to where my mouse is. I have managed to click on it once. Hopefully whenever the next update with a Super Carrier feature addition or bug fix this will no longer be a issue.

  8. Welp sad to say the page file fix only worked for a little while. The bug has now continued past the page file fix solution. I had been flying for 3 hours and did several launches prior to this and then crash on a fresh multiplayer restart on the syria map. Same conditions. dcs.log-20210314-064724.zip
  9. For Any of you who are having trouble accessing the FTP server link with Google Chrome. Type in: chrome://flags/ It will look like this: https://imgur.com/a/yrsNBHh In the search bar on the Chrome Flags Tab search on the search bar "FTP". You'll see a setting pop up called "Enable support for FTP URLs". On the right click on the drop down and select "enable". Google Chrome will ask you to restart it. Restart Google Chrome and try the EDM download links again. You can still select standard material in the material browser
  10. I seemed to have fixed the issue. I turned on Auto Page Filing and it managed to do ok. But the moment I turn it off I still get the issue. Again is only when you bring the gear up. NineLine told me about the Page File solution for a few issues and it works but you'll need to have space on your hard drive for it.
  11. This has happened in the past to me but was fixed before. This crash related bug has returned. Has happened twice in 10 Cat Shots. Hookup to CAT 2. Launch off the deck. As I do my clearing turn the game completely crashes a few seconds after leaving the deck. Happens so often I started to test it with the F-14A&B to see if it happens. The F-14 has never crashed. For Mission/ Multiplayer operations and realism I know I'm not the only one who would like to be able to disable some of the ships catapults so that not only the crew are gone from them but things like shuttle covers and static objects can be placed on the deck and not overlapping crew. This kind of ability would allow multiplayer servers to have CAT 1 & CAT2 operational for recovery and takeoff ability and not have someone spawn on CAT 3 or 4 or taxi over to it when someone lands.

  15. I have been wondering if this system is modeled as I was trying to figure out how to start the DCS F-14B Left engine with bleed air from the right engine. I have seen it done a few times from airshows with the F-14's The pilots always started Engine 1 with the start cart, disconnect the start cart and air and then spool the engine up a bit and use the bleed air to turn the second engine. Does anyone know the procedure or know a retired pilot who can whip out the check list?
  16. I had an odd issue today on a multiplayer server. In offline I have launched off CAT1 at Mil power without burner needed since I was just doing patterns and was light. I would go to MIL power and salute and nothing would happen. They did the whole salute and shoot animation and I just sat there. Nothing happened. I needed to go into burner for the cat shot to happen which shouldn't be required.

Yah, I assumed that is most likely a majority the reason as well as there hasn't been a reason to introduce changes to the plugin since no issues regarding Autodesk support have surfaced until now. That being said reasonably it would take a few weeks to create a branch of the EDM tools on or close to the 2.5.6.47224 release. Pull out all the specific code that would open up options and tools that only ED and 3rd parties are allowed to use. Internally test it, then either merge that branch into the new build for release or, remove support for the old previous tools and release the new branch with the nightly builds in its place. The fact it was alerted to their attention means that ED knows and something will be done shortly.
  20. I haven't been able to get anything to work for them. I asked Nine Line and another dev contacted me and I asked her to please add support for newer versions of 3ds max since you are no longer able to get 3ds max 2016-2017, Soon even 2018 will be unsupported by Autodesk. Since the Mod tools only work up till MAX 2017, anyone above is unable to do anything with DCS. I have asked every two months for something to be done but nothing has happened yet. I did get a reply back that licanced 3rd party teams with all the dev tools do have a more advanced set of plugins that work all the way to 3ds MAX 2021. So they have the tools supported but they need the set of plugins for mods and unlicenced moders to be updated with the same support. PLEASE! Do it soon ED otherwise a lot of people will start posting about this and it will blow up since Autodesk is no longer supporting old software.
  21. I second this, because if there wasn't already an aircraft the possibility of a player spawning on another while sitting getting refueled or such will make this annoying
  22. Hello All, With as much anticipation that this module will bring I was looking at it more closely and noticed there are some missing crew members and incorrect crew launch positions. I know its not out yet and that there are lots of features to be added and fixed, however if someone doesn't bring this stuff up or post about it then its a slim chance if it will be noticed or added. Missing Catapult Centerdeck Operator: In between CAT 3 & 4 there is a green shirt that will usually sit inside a open panel. This green shirt is the Catapult Centerdeck Operator's job. Inside the panel the green shirt has communication with catapult control relaying aircraft type, gross weight and the side number, and assisting the Catapult Officer (or, Shooter) in selection of different launch settings. Each plane requires a different catapult setting based on weight. Currently from the videos I've seen and all posted images from ED. This crew member is missing. The hatch in Red ----------- The IRL view from that position Topic Two: Aircraft Prioritization/ Shooting Order One thing I've noticed is that when two aircraft are attached to two catapults at the same time the AI crew doesn't appear to hold the other aircraft and stay within their safety spots till the other aircraft is launched. What should happen is, say cat 4 just launched an aircraft and planes are lined up behind cat 3 & 4. One aircraft gets lined up on cat 4. Crew brings the aircraft in and applies the hold back bar and the crew tell the pilot to wait. The non-essential(ie. The crew from cat4) turns and sits behind the red and white striped line. Cat 3 and its crew load an aircraft and then immediately launch it. The crew for cat 3 get out of the way and move to their safe location while the cat4 crew sets up for a quick launch on cat 4. The crew resets for the next planes. Here is a video of what this would look like from the Catapult Safety Observer: ${1} There are some more smaller items I can go on about like how they keep the red catapult shuttle guard and the different hold back bars in between the cats and so forth but you get the idea. The current progress is better than any other game or sim out there has tried to achieve, however if you wanna push it further to how it is, these changes would make a big difference.
