  1. I am experiencing the same problem both in the Persian Gulf and Syria. DCS Build: 2.92.49629

The error from the logfile is as follows: 2023-12-25 16:41:53.214 ALERT   LUACOMMON (Main): Error: GUI Error: [string "./MissionEditor/modules/me_route.lua"]:2426: attempt to concatenate local 'action' (a nil value)

I have not encountered any issues with the track file in the Caucasus.

Here's what I have done to troubleshoot the issue:

    Performed repair and clean operations.
    Removed all mods.
Uninstalled DCS and then reinstalled it.
Additionally, I have noticed a difference in file sizes. For example, Syria and the Persian Gulf have file sizes larger than 2 GBs, whereas the Caucasus file is around 820 MB.

Unfortunately, the problem persists even after taking the above actions

    I'm no marketing director -

But I would think that if you wanted people to get interested in the game, allowing users the ability to record and replay their flights for entertainment may be a huge free advertising boost.

The fact that there is no viable re-watch feature in a modern sim where over 30 years of simulations have provided exactly that, isn't a lack of resources or time.  It is a conscious choice.

If I had to venture a theory - it is meant to gatekeep ordinary players from making content, and likely the pressure from the community to have this tool is probably offset by larger stakeholders such as the military or government, holding them somewhat accountable for creating a simulation that, under certain conditions, can entirely pass for real video footage and lead to a lot of misreporting and grey area in real world news.

Not having that tool easy, and available to every player, thus, is a conscious choice.  Whether or not it is the right one is debatable - but were this tool a priority, they'd have had ample time and resource to change it.  The fact that it isn't a priority is not from lack of interest on the playerbase, but directly from lack of interest on the developer side.

They don't want to open that can of worms any more than it already is.

That is what i am feeling as well.

your replay will be corrupt. BUT NOT the ones from others.

I mean. If you are in a multiplayer server. Fly a mission and repeat your replay file, there is a good chance your plane will crash. If you ask another user, to give you his replay file, you will see with a good percent of possibilities that your flight was the same it was in real time.

Why is this? because the rest of planes you record in your replay file are set in coordinates system. Your plane is recorded the mouse motion and what you head moves. So other player file will consider your plane as AI plane and record as it was.

The best way to do it alone? create a server and connect yourself to your server. Grab the server recording at the end, not your. And you will have more or less something good to play with.

yes this is how i do it as well most of the time use the server track.

If i need footage of the cockpit or if i need to have a specific scene i play that scene only and then record it. what takes a lot of time as the track files are most of the time broken.

  4. @Flappie i face the same problem, its that known replay bug what get the plane off track, i made an earlier thread and asked if they can fix it (while ago)
I tried today to make some recordings as well. and my track was bugged as well. i added the track files.

Even my server track got bugged.

I really hope they will fix it one day, cost me so much time to get the recordings right that i give up making videos of DCS lately.

    Gr Maverick.

  5. Hello Razbam team,

I have a request. in the past we had the visor. that helped us really well during aerobatics and sunny days.
After some update it was gone.

The binding is still there but the visor is not visible in cockpit when you down the visor.
My request is could you please bring back the visor. this helps us a lot during aerobatic trainings and during the display at the end of the year.

Or if its possible is it possible to script it in myself by lua files?

Thanks already hope this feature will be added in again.

Its not only with landing, on my video with the harrier you will see it is during the flight as well:

This is on multiplayer during the training. this problem is already there for a long time. Hope youll fix it one day.
This is happening on multiple planes, for example if i fly on an aerobatics server and i watch in the wheel base you see the wheels are rotating in the wheel base as well.

You also can try to uninstall the oculus software, and reinstall it.

I have external wireless audio and apparently the problem is with the audio. It tells me that the quest has no audio.

What does tell the quest doesnt have audio?
    The oculus software?

If its the oculus software, then turn off the device, open the oculus software. you can change by device the audio source.
Below screenshot is in dutch, but you might get the idea where i change my source.

  9. Did you start your quest up in another mode, before you startup the quest. you can hold power button and voume - button, you'll get a menu. dit you changed something in there?

If yes, then here is maybe a solution:

  10. The RAZBAM Harrier Display Team are looking for individuals to join our DCS World virtual display team. We perform at events such as VFAT, the Virtual Festival or Aerobatic Teams, held every year and broadcast on twitch.

We would like an individual to join as either a Inner Left or Inner Right wing.  The ideal candidate will:
    ● Join our training sessions to familiarise themselves with our routine, and work with us to learn our show.
    ● Have a high spec PC with good internet connection capable of maintaining a reliable connection throughout our display routine.
    ● Have a HOTAS system with either VR or TrackIR.
    ● Have Persian Gulf, Caucasus and Marianas terrains.
    ● Aged 18 and over.
    ● Own the Harrier and are competent with the flight model.

Unfortunately, we are unable to train individuals.

We train for approximately 1 hour 30 mins at 21:00 UTC Mondays and Fridays.

Please PM FireBlaze#7247 if interested or contact us in our Discord here https://discord.gg/xssebJg

    **Recruitment will end 1/03/2022**

It may be working better than it was, but it still has issues.

As for rewind, I don't think that is possible without a fundamental rewrite. As I understand it, track files essentially 'play through' a mission, and consist of data on the initial situation, followed by user inputs. If that is all the data available, it simply isn't possible to 'rewind' to arbitrary points in the recording.

Its funny other games/simulators have these replay systems what works really perfectly without any issues. here in DCS it is damaged for ages.

I hope they will solve this one day..
