  1. Is it possible to rotate the throttle bar 180 degrees? If so, to change the mounting side one can just mount the collective upside-down and reverse the axis.
  6. Another 5K+ user here. Have a headset for more than a year now. It is not perfect, but for me it benefits outweighs downsides in DCS. Already ordered 8KX. PS Still waiting for kickstarter backed lighthouses and controllers, though. Timing is not a strong Pimax side, that for sure :(
  7. There is no perfect hardware. And will not be. They complaining about how complicated to change springs and cam's on the joystick? Had they tried to do so on VKB Gunfighter, for example? Same goes for dry clutch tuning. Those things maybe not simple, but at least it is possible! No-one going to do it every week, it is kind of "done once properly and forget until next regular maintenance" thing (and YES, quality sim hardware DO NEED regular maintenance). So, no reason to complain "but it so expensive, it should be easy!" No, it shouldn't. Expensive mechanical stuff usually is complicated. What is simple, usually cheap and ultimately almost worthless.
  8. No deal breaker issues, at least for me. Most important stuff seems to be pretty solid.
  9. I have my Slaw Viper RX with hydraulic damper installed. They both beautiful and functional. Regarding functionality, my imagination is too weak to think of something they they lack. But you NEED to bolt them to something, just putting them on the floor will NOT work.
  10. I'm not complaining, so far everything is doable. I really like beginning of the sixth mission, BTW: landing very heavy helicopter on top of the mountain in limited visibility and without ability to hover too much (because engine will fry) - is a kind of challenge helicopter pilot should do from time to time. Keep up doing good work, we NEED more good Huey campaigns :)
  11. Had finished this mission some time ago, and just visited the forum. I must tell, I did it completely different than it seems it meant to be done. I had picked a squad on the road, but to land them on the bridge, on top of this APC, to my understanding was not a good idea. Not at all! So, I landed on the road couple hundred meters from the bridge behind the enemy. Nothing happened, of course. So, I just circled above with the squad on board until my gunners had destroyed that APC. Same with second bridge. Poor guys, it must been terrible for them just sitting in the cabin while crazy pilot was making those crazy turns. But it never occurred to me, that I should land them on this bridge, on suicide mission (surely APC were in the wrong positions, any descent commander would put them in a way that they could kill anything on the bridge, otherwise, what the point for them being there?). I guess my logic is very different from campaign creator. Or, maybe, I just using it too much, avoiding doing stuff that I would never do in real life. Images of those 14.5 mm shells tearing apart helicopter and everyone inside it while I attempt to land on the bridge were too vivid in my imagination to even try :D
  12. Well, those cargo are not a problem when you aware that time is limited. In fact second cargo's are more challenging - at least you need to monitor EGT. Finished at first attempt when I was aware of time limit. So far - interesting campaign!
  13. From what I seen so far, adjusting cam's is a quite simple task. Do not understand the bitching about it. If you don't want to do some tuning, just use it as TM Warthog - in a way it had been set up from the factory. Who want more, will adjust those cams. What is much easier and safer, than tuning Warthog gimbal, for example.
  14. Then just leave it in default config and never change or adjust anything. Problem solved!
  15. Seems to be a nice product. Especially throttle, it seems to be in completely different league comparing with anything else released or planned. Joystick seems nice, but not that much better than already excellent competitions. But with their setup, Winwing have a possibility to create whole ecosystem, not just a HOTAS. Different realistic stick grips, throttle handles and switches panels - it is something that no one else is offering at the moment. That would be a good reason to completely migrate to their product, regardless how good current stick could be.
  16. I did some reading, and now I know that mission indeed bugged and become a race again time. So, it need to be treated accordingly, no relaxing flying trying to do it as nice and smooth and easy on airframe as possible with those cargo's.
  17. OK, I think I understood what the problem is. It is seems that there is hard order in which cargo need to be transported over river. This time I had delivered oil tank from Batumi (because there is no oil tanks on the station). Then I delivered container over the river. Then I delivered tank over the river. And then I hooked that stuff in net, and once again got second red smoke. But I misinterpreted it first time - it marks landing zone. And again I immediately died. To notice - in both attempts I saw that red smoke only when 3 cargo's were already in the landing zone (one that I delivered from Batumi, two that I hauled over river), and forth cargo is in the air. Also, this time I did it differently: on first attempt I never landed, second time I landed every time I needed to hook the cargo. Same result. So, what is the correct order of doing those cargo's and not dying for no reason?
  18. Also having problems with this mission, but it have nothing to do with my piloting skills: since Argo and Oilfield campaigns, sling cargo on helicopter is not a problem for me. Tried mission once so far, and there is an absolute mess with cargo menu. It is unclear (for me at least) which cargo is which. I figured out what the tank is. Delivered. Figured out what the container is. Delivered. For the next cargo's (stuff in the net), tried to find the right one by cycling all cargo's one by one. Ok, got red smoke over one of them. Hooked it, made a turn, and suddenly mission closed, and last thing I seen, is ANOTHER red smoke over cargo that I delivered from Batumi port. In the mission log, there is only a message that pilot died, and only 50% is completed. Will try again, but so far I'm confused: what happened? It could be that I crushed cargo to the ground somehow, but I really doubt it - to my estimations I was high enough, beside I never got a cargo crashed message.
  19. False alarm - problem was in Pitool settings, not in DCS. Who would think that FOV settings to Large from Normal can have such dramatic effect on clarity?
  20. I never had to to anything before. Tomorrow I'll going to dig deeper into issue, I was too angry to do anything today.
  21. There is no specifics. I started DSC today as usual, it had itself updated, all text and everything, everywhere, become blurry. I turned DCS off, very frustrated. Looks like they changed something in the VR rendering pipeline.
  22. I don't know if it is just me, but after last update VR clarity had been completely destroyed for me. It looks like I'm back to Oculus CV1. My current headset is Pimax5k+, I hadn't changed anything in my settings.
  23. Latest video reminded me again, how limiting small FOV really is. Pimax is not perfect, to start DCS on my 5k+ is around 2 minutes procedure, but it is still worth it for me. Of course, I have a monster PC, which although struggling, but still managing to deliver somehow acceptable performance on close to maxed out graphic settings. 8KX is a day-one buy for me.
  24. It looks even more impressive in through the lens zoom photos, comparing 8kx with 5k+. Improvement is on pair with boost we had going from first Oculus Rift to 5k+. Check this out! https://forum.pimaxvr.com/t/sde-through-the-lenses-macro-pimax-8kx-vs-5k-just-a-teaser/22221
  25. Grease is important protection measure. I'm working with underwater equipment, all manufactures recommending to put some silicone (or similar) grease on all plugs.
