  1. Hello! Im sure this is explained somewhere, but i checked the module info on BS2 upgrade and i searched a bit in this thread and didnt get a satisfying answer (didnt search extensively, sorry). I am installing DCS World at this moment, and i am about to install BS1 and then do the upgrade with BS2. What im wondering is if i should install BS1 to its standard place it wants to be installed to, or if theres a better place for it like under DCS World? Secondly, i might stumble upon a problem i saw another user had which was that BS2 wont recognize BS1 when trying to install it. It looked like the issue might have to do with BS1 activation already is in the registry and therefor didnt need to be activated, and that in its turn make the BS2 installation impossible. But i guess that headache shows itself when i get there. :) I'll test clean the registry of BS1 first. Thanks in advance!
  2. ivo: Open CCC and: 1. Start by changing your 3D Application Settings in the "Gaming" tab as you need them for Black Shark (set AA, AF etc). 2. When done click the "Presets" tab followed by "Add Preset..." 3. Now write a name you want the preset to have. Maybe "DCS Black Shark" (skip quotes""). 4. Click "Location" in the Preset menu and remove "Include in Start menu" (unless you want it there of course). 5. Press "Save" and you're done. Start over again to make a preset for DCS A-10. It's a bit more crude than Nvidia's CPL but it works. Also make a "standard" profile for any game/program you need it for. Cover all bases. :)
  3. If you take "RTFM" as bashing then you're a bit too sensitive. This word is a standing joke as well as a kind of "truth" in the sim community. Something that needs to be made really really clear for people that say they dont have any time to read a manual (dont know how this works when your into sims... but ok) is that the PDF manuals have a SEARCH FUNCTION. Highlight not meant as screaming. Just marking it more. Open the PDF and then it says SEARCH at the top. Put in a word and bang - your right on target. Very easy to scout out the parts you need to read about. Next time also just wait a bit and someone will help. Even though the first answer might be RTFM. But saying to others that they are blunt for not answering your questions when you in turn tell us that "you dont have time to read the manual" and just want to play and have others tell you the answers seems equally blunt to me. However dont be afraid to ask questions. This community is very friendly and have tons and tons of knowledge about the aviation world. Sims and RL. Just take some answers with a pinch of salt. Like said many times, many here have answered the same questions so many times it gets a bit repetitive. And it gets repetitive because so many seems to forget there is a SEARCH button on the forum as well. Just try use it a bit more and when you cant get the answer you want from that - post! ;) BTW: Welcome! Regards Alex
  4. Just adding what might been said before. But a loop option for vehicles as well for waypoints. A generic "CYCLE" waypoint that would work for all types would be great. Like arma. Alex
  5. "Make sure to buy the modules even if they aren't your fav aircraft..." Agreed. Since they dont come every month it is affordable to most and will probably better secure the future of DCS for us. With almost a year between modules - you have lots of time to save for each module and support Eagle Dynamics. Alex
  6. Voted AH-64 as well with the same thaught in mind as Airway. We know the A-10 will come next and we've flown it tons in LO. So i long after something new as well. Getting up in the Apache with a mate in MP gunner/pilot will be something extra for sure. Especially at this level of realism. Can't wait to get up in the A-10 though as well hehe. Thats gonna be amazing. And we all know it. Alex
  7. You got me all wrong my friend. Thats my point - i dont care what it said as i know i cant rely on those numbers anyway. And for that matter i never trusted numbers for games or movies etc since they are made by someone else than me. I cant know if that guy/gal like what i like so the numbers fall flat from start. And i'll have my fun when i get BS... ;)
  8. Deadline or not, it sounds weird to review such a complex sim by just testing the game mode and then give a verdict. It was nice by the reviewer ofcourse to understand that there was more under the hood than what he had time to test. But really, this shows how much you can trust those numbers in game magazines... "oh, uhh well i tested the first half of the first mission - i gave the game 43/100 cause it was too little action." LOL! (i made that quote up btw - just saying.). ;)
  9. You have to look away from the screen with a printed manual as well mate. ;) So looking on a second monitor/laptop for manual isnt too bad. Also PDF have a super nice search function so you find what you need fast. Hard if you dont have a free screen though ofcourse. But hey, i like printed manuals too. And would like that over a PDF anyday. Just saying though, it aint too bad until we get a printed version. :)
  10. Thats great ruprecht! Would kill for that setup mate. Im going to use a 15" old CRT for second and hope ABRIS and or SHKVAL will fit on there nicely. This is until i can get more cash for 3 LCD's and go triple as well. Just want to get it as good as i can until then. This thread will be of great help. Thanks everyone that contributed with info on this matter.
  11. Well it must be better to actually have the sim on your HD than the other way around. I cant buy with CC atm so i have a PDF manual but not the sim. Sitting here seeing all of you flying i can assure you is a bigger pain than the other way around.
  12. Thanks for that Talon. I will install Win7 beta on a dual boot then to run BS from. I had Vista dual boot before but never used it. Win7 seems to be the OS that will take over from XP when its done. Still dont understand why my friends BS always starts with both cores activated though...? Everyone seems to say it starts with 1 and you have to manually set the second core. Dont know why his doesnt need to be manually set. Have to ask him some more questions about this.
  13. And setting affinity to both in XP doesnt work? I remember hearing my friend saying to me "nope, my both cores are checked in the affinity" when i asked him to check and set it to both. I guess he run BS on XP. I hear from everyone here that BS starts with only 1 core, but that isnt true when you ask him. I just dont know what OS he is on and if there is a difference in number of cores on startup depending on XP or VISTA.
