  1. So back in the day I got the GameTrix 908 chair and loved it for flight sims. Fast forwards 10 years and I'm older now, need reading glasses, and got a herniated disc. So I had to take apart my home cockpit and use my desk now. Not as cool...but works. I miss the Gametrix 908 so I was looking for something similar that I could use that wouldn't hurt my back too bad. Saw the Woojer vest and decided to look into it. Didn't see any info on it being used with DCS...so I got it...and tested it. It would be hard to compare it to the GameTrix 908 chair because it uses the simshaker software. It's essentially a vest that's a subwoofer. But it does make things a bit more fun for flight sims. I made a video about my experience: Overall...its works amazingly for helicopters but I found it lacking for planes. But it is more versatile in that it can be used for other games (I tested it with Fallout 76 and felt like I was in a war zone) and also works with VR. So in my current situation it works well.
  2. Thanks for the info. Useful to know. Will try not to kill my generators during cold starts.
  3. So I've done all the tutorial missions and when flying to a waypoint you see that home plate symbol. I created a quick mission for myself to learn the Apache and I set some waypoints. But when I fly it, it doesn't show that home plate symbol. Do I need to do something in mission editor to make that appear? Also, since Apache has different waypoint types, is it possible to set those up in mission editor as well?
  4. His reply made sense...but the question is on a real apache would pressing those buttons cause the generator to fail.
  5. The laser issue was on a multiplayer server with a hot start apache. The laser was working as intended. I just wasn't seeing the symbology on my TADS that I would see when in single player flying by myself. Specifically the range calculation and the X shape lines. For generator issue, its the verifying them that seems to generate the issue. Took a video of it today: I am able to replicate the generator problem on both cold starts and hot started apaches.
  6. Generator failure: Start the Apache from cold start and go through getting her warmed up. In the tutorial it says to check on generator one and two. When I check on either one, it automatically fails. So if I don't check on the generator - everything is fine. Seems like checking on it causes the failure. Laser Info Issue: When playing in multiplayer I was a gunner and we were at the range. I found a target and turned on the laser. I didn't get any range info or the lines around the target to indicate the laser is on. I though I forgot a step but the pilot said that from his TADS view he can see it the info. I was able to laser and take out targets, just didn't have the info.
  7. any link for xbox controllers? I think a good xbox controller and thrustmaster combo will work great with this heli.
  8. I think reversing the modifier bumper on the controller would allow the d-pad to be used for George real easily. I think for single player gunners using George and the xbox controller will be a great tool. Can't wait until it comes out today. Also, where can I find a blank xbox controller template. Been creating my own thrustmaster controls, but want to document the xbox controller as well.
  9. Curious as well for the documentation.
  10. Is there a good resource out there for model files for 3D printing a cockpit? Was thinking of building a F-16 or F/A-18 cockpit and been able to some of the panels on thingiverse but didn't know if there was a good source for these. Have no problem paying for a full cockpit set if its well done. Been really enjoying making panels with my 3d printer and I'm thinking about building a full cockpit now.
  11. That would be great....not familiar with a 555 timer circuit so will look into it.
  12. Not sure how to do that since all my other cockpit stuff I've just mapped into DCS. Would I need another app do that with?
  13. So I was at work and noticed that they were getting rid of old fire alarm pulls and decided to grab one. My intent is to wire it up and use it as an ejection mechanism. Here's a quick video of what I have now: So I can have it simulate a momentary pulse....but I know DCS needs you to press eject three times to work. Anyone have any ideas how I can make this work? I plan on repainting the box box and making it look like more of an ejection handle in the future.
  14. Had to make one small modification...but it worked. _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('Test'); Description = 'Test Top Down monitors' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 2160; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 0.888888888888888; } } GUI = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; } UIMainView = GUI Thanks for your help!
