  1. I'd like to do the same thing, since I have non-centering pedals and an FFB stick I think it'd be much nicer.
  2. The ms FFB2 (which I use) is completely without centering springs, in non-FF apps it uses it's FFB motors for centering.. Works fine in BS, except that one can't set a curve on any axis when using it (because it still sets trim-position of the stick as if there were no curve).. I guess it would be the same with the EVO FFB stick..
  3. Had the same problem, and the same solution that I had'nt centered the ball.. Not a big deal though I thinks, I've never missed a Vikhr because I slipped. Come to think of it, if one wants a big slip indicator on the HUD.. :P
  4. I usually order them into a loose formation before giving any order that will have them return to the formation afterwards while I'm busy. Don't know if it really helps but I've never had them crash into me, only into eachother :P
  5. I bet some talented and educated 3rd party guys could make a Cessna or similar that's up to "DCS standards", or some bush plane... Might be fun to fly as the insurgents :D Would be a great addition me thinks, to fool around with.
  6. Apply sharp tool on Xbox360 controller, join piece(s) of former Xbox360 controller to joystick..:smilewink: I think I might try it myself :D
  7. I give it a 100 just for the intention of modeling a russian attack helicopter so thuroughly :) (Played "Apache Longbow" and "Hind", forgot what the company making them were.. But I've been missing a good heli-sim since then (10 yrs ago or something)) edit: And 500 for actually doing it so nicely :D
  8. I don't think there are any other effects other than centering, and that the trim position changes (I have the same stick running in XP, also without drivers)
  9. Says in the GUI manual that the FARP needs to have certain vehicles for different "services", an SKP-11 for comm's for instance, a fuel truck for fuel etc.. I don't remember what is needed at the FARP for repairs though...
  10. I guess it sets the force-trim back to the same state as when you're "spawned" (?) Allthough I only use the trim button meself...
  11. Hello again! I tried it, and I was mistaken, I get the same as you...
  12. Hello! Quick question, can I send and recieve targets to and from my buddy in multiplayer?? Thx!
  13. hmm.. Thats very odd, for me it works fine, I think.. Admittadly I've not used it for a while but I am certain I've turned the heading bug and seen it spin around. I'll try this tonight and post back tomorrow when I get back to work.. :)
  14. I had the same thing once. I noticed however that while the buttons for adding units etc on the left did´nt work, the menu's on top did (so I could "save as" my mission and reload it).. Never knew the cause though, but I most definetly also changed the number of wingmen in the player flight. I think it's a non-issue though since all one has to do is delete the flight that locks up the ME-buttons and remake it.. 15. Hello! Just thought I'd summarise the problems I have with the ms FFB2.. -Works fine in Single Missions and campaigns, but behaves like a non-forcefeedback stick in Instant Action as well as when taking control of any training mission. (Trimming works like for a normal stick). -The more annoying problem is that the forcefeedback does'nt follow if you set a curve to X or Y axis (I don't refer to the "swap axis" thing(!)). Meaning that if I set a curve of say 25 on Y, push the stick forward and press trim, it'll center further back than where it is when the trim button is released.. :joystick: This in practice means that you can only fly with a straight response-curve if using force feedback (the ms FFB2 anyway). Thx!
  16. Flip the switch just to the right of the HSI, then turn the heading bug :) I think that's correct.. (at work)..
  17. Even when practicing loops for airshows?? :P Anyway, interesting!! I'll see if the help of the FD makes me aim rockets better when I get home :D I've had hell trimming with this wrist-twist, twist-grip...
  18. I noticed this also, I also have a ms FFB2 stick. Very annoying, had to go back to having no curves on X and Y, as well as a very hard time hitting anything with rockets :P
  19. hehe.. I flew my second flight at idle, I made a very brief touch and go in a bush, and proceeded to land back at the base on only the main gear.. :D But I did'nt crash, I was very proud.. :)
  20. Oh, you don't need to.. It is disabled when BS launches anyway :) And all other settings are available in the BS axis-mapping...
  21. Very funny, BS is the first sim where I don't have any problems with my ms FFB2.. I don't use the software that came with it (lost the disc years ago) so I just plugged it in after installing BS (the first time that computer has seen the joystick) and swapped the FFB axis and then it worked... So you might want to try it without the ms FFB2 software if you're using it.. Goodluck!
  22. I've only had it for 6 flight hours (have'nt crashed yet :D very proud about that) and have'nt seen any real combat yet. 1 - Considering how awesome this sim is, I'd happily buy it again if I ran out of my many activasions (10?, don't remember). 2 - I have no idea, it runs better than lockon did on my system at 1680x1050 (amd X2 4400, GF 8600, 2gb ram) 3 - Can't see why there would be any problems with it since it's one of the most popular joysticks around, surely they made sure it works nicely with it. You should get it or you're missing out on alot of fun!! :) Edit: I should also add, that I run it on medium settings at 1680x1050. I'll probably lower the resolution when I go to war, since I guess that'll tax my system more, but then by that time I will have learned the cockpit well enough that I don't need as high a resolution :P
  23. You don't need a file to recall the default keymapps. Go to: config/input/ka-50/keyboard , in there you should find two files default.lua and keyboard.lua - delete or move keyboard.lua Then restart the sim and enjoy the default keys Hope this helps!
  24. Hi! Some very strange issues when mapping keys, I'll try to explane: I cleared all the default keys and went about making my own profile from scratch. I first noticed an issue with the "Master Caution Pushlight" command, did'nt matter which key I tried to map it to it would'nt work anyway but I could here the click sound when pressing the key in the sim. So I looked in the .lua file with my saved profile and found a bug: The peace in the file that says what key is used for the "Master Caution Pushlight" had gotten screwed by the simulator in the process of me mapping my keys, and only had the "down = [whatever number] " and missing the "up = [whatever number] " (unfortunately I can't cite the .lua file because I'm on another computer). I believe this explanes why I could here the sound in the sim allthough the pushlight was'nt pressed. (I managed to fix it manually in the file, and some other instances of the same problem, but) This definetly looks like a bug to me, hope this helps if ED intends to fix it. ps. If need be I can probably recreate the problem and document what happens.. winXP SP-2 32-bit Asus micro-ATX mobo (forgot the name of it) AMD Athlon X2 4400+ MSI geforce 8600[two letters I forgot] 2 gb 800mhz ram ms FFB2 usb joystick trackIR 3 Logitech G-5 mouse (does'nt seam to matter if I run it's "SetPoint" software or not) Tryed with both a usb and a ps2 keyboard (both from Dell)
