  1. Very nice. It's great that you guys are working on it. I'm a bit late to this party since I only noticed it yesterday with the 2.5.4 update.
  2. This seems to be affecting people in different ways. I only get the flickering heavily with the Christen Eagle II although I caught a minimal amount of flickering with the Yak-52 this morning. Other aircraft like the P-51 are totally solid and I don't get flickering. I also didn't see flickering with any of the other WWII aircraft, the F-5, or the F-86. I was testing strictly in the Area 51 area and away from water. It's a strange problem. EDIT: Ok, I take it back, I just caught a small amount of flickering with the F-5. Darn it! When I last played DCS a week or two ago with 2.5.3 there was no flickering. Like with a lot of you this seems new.
  3. I own the majority of aircraft and helicopters for DCS and they all work fine. The Christen Eagle II is a strange exception. For some reason when I fly the CE II the screen will do occasional flickering with short periods of black screen (maybe tenth of a second periods) when I look around in the TrackIR. I use an Acer Freesync monitor with a Radeon R9 390 card if that is important. Has anyone else seen this kind of an issue? I think it's interesting that I only see this issue with just this one aircraft.
  4. Ok, thanks for the answers. I don't have the open beta version so I assume it will work at a later time.
  5. I see it in the module manager but get an "ERROR: Unknown module MAGNITUDE3_CHRISTEN_EAGLE-II" message. I guess I'll hunt around the forums and see what might be causing this problem.
  6. Thank you. I was wondering this myself a few days ago.
  7. When I first started using cv1 about 5 weeks ago I got nauseous easily and I could feel its effects hours after taking off the Rift unit. Now, after flying for 5 weeks at about 45 minutes a day I have almost no problems anymore. Along with a single tablet of Dramamine I really don't have problems. At worst I now feel a few seconds of discomfort at times but it only lasts a few seconds and disappears. Stuff like Dramamine does seem to help but just getting used to the unit helps even more. In another few weeks or month I don't think I'll have any problems left and the issues will be totally gone. I noticed that some people had issues when first using TIR. I never had issues with that. Everyone responds differently to this stuff.
  8. It has definitely amused me reading all these posts. This is the point where I wish an actual F-15 pilot would show up.
  9. Ahh... so this is a bug. I couldn't figure out why my L-39 caught on fire after going under the Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge at Hoover Dam a few days ago. I thought I must have hit the structure somehow. It would be nice to get that one fixed.
  10. Good luck. You're going to need it. This is a big project to start off with.
  11. The GTX 1080 sounds cool. Unfortunately, because of my Freesync monitor I'm sort of stuck in the AMD pipeline. I'm waiting for Vega 10.
  12. On the bright side they had a good sale today and I got to buy some more aircraft. Of course that doesn't help those of you who have everything already.
  13. I remember TFX a little. I just checked its release date and that one came out in 1993. Two programs that actually came out that year that I played even more were Aces over Europe (Dynamix) and Tornado (DI).
  14. I agree. I would love to fly the F-100 Super Sabre and F-104 Aluminum Death Tube. EDIT: I just realized that instead of naming myself JustVisiting I should have named myself Aluminum Death Tube. Anyway, this thread caused me to buy the Mig-21 a few days ago and I really enjoy it. Mostly I've been flying the F-86 lately.
  15. Yeah, those poll results are totally out of date and invalid at this time. I'm another Win 10 user.
  16. That was a good article. I'll definitely need to pick up the Huey next.
  17. Yeah, does anyone know why the V-sync option was removed? It doesn't matter to me since I use a Freesync monitor but it would still be interesting to know. Anyway, PV is right. It can all be controlled from the card software.
  18. Yeah, the one possibility I have is to get my brother interested in DCS. Maybe someday. I work as an animator for a very small company that specializes in a big way in doing animations for a few helicopter and aircraft corporations. Now you would think that my coworkers would have an interest in flight sims since they have an interest in aviation in general. Unfortunately, that assumption is wrong. They simply don't have the interest.
  19. Gifting is such a wonderful thing. Now I just need to find someone I know who actually flies DCS.
  20. I used to play that a lot. Anyway, good luck on your project.
