  1. Interesting. It seems DCS was looking for an A-10C_2 Kneeboard Builder folder that wasn't there. There was an A-10 C folder, so I copied it and renamed it A-10C_2 and ... So far so good. Thanks very much for your help!
  2. So is Kneeboard Builder the problem? It's always just worked in the past. Do you know any way I might be able to fix this?
  3. Hi again ... unfortunately the problem came back the very next time I tried to load the simulation. How frustrating! I'm attaching the log. I do hope you can help. dcs.log
  4. Thanks BIGNEWY. Not running Steam. Will run a cleanup and repair ASAP. Well I've done a cleanup and repair and got into a visible cockpit twice in a row, which is a record. I had previously repaired numerous times but hadn't done a separate cleanup, so I don't know whether it's that that made a difference. Thanks for your prompt reply and fingers crossed ...

  6. I hope someone can help with a weird intermittent problem I'm having in the A-10C II, both in SP and MP. Missions appear to be loading normally but then I find myself in a transparent cockpit. The aircraft's nose is transparent too: there's just a faint outline. But if I twist round to look behind me, the wings, fuselage and tail are rendered properly. Also if I switch to external view, everything looks normal. I've tried waiting for it to load up without success. Sometimes running a repair and deleting the fxo and metashaders 2 files helps, but usually it doesn't. When it does work, it works fine, and this never affects the original A-10C module. I'd be deeply grateful for a solution, as this is really becoming a pain. System specs: Windows 10, GTX1070, 32Gb RAM, SSD, VR Oculus Rift C2,
  7. Thanks for kindly coming back to me, hornblower793. I'm afraid my main symptom was confusion as a result of not reading the flipping instructions. The kneeboard extension is actually quite brilliant. I, sad to say, am not.
  8. Sorry I meant to say it isn’t playing nice with my existing VA/KneeboardBuilder configuration. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Hollwood_315 Help. How do I deactivate the kneeboard extension? It isn’t playing nice with my existing VA/KneeboardBuilder. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. I could never get on with VIACOM either, so I use standalone Voice Attack too. But since the update I can’t seem to shut off the pilot’s voice, so it echoes all my commands, irritatingly. The No Pilot Voice mod doesn’t seem to work any more. Is it just me or has anyone else experienced this? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  11. A HMD mask only mod would be fantastic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Well, schurem - those were wise words indeed! What a fantastic update. Well worth the wait! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  13. I also love the general look and feel of the new cockpit. Having the raindrops on the canopy is fantastic and the internal detailing is incredible. I can spend ages just admiring the rivets! But I’m having great trouble reading the panel text in VR, which I didn’t before. I think there are several reasons for this. I always, day and night, use full backlighting to make the text more contrasty and - as much discussed here - the backlighting is much weaker in this iteration. I agree the text seems less sharp, even when I zoom in, but I get the impression it’s smaller. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  14. Update - I just selected the Rift options in Rift AND DCS and all is working again. Even though, bizarrely, I’m not using Rift headphones. So thanks for the advice dburne - I hope it sorts you out too, cowboy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  15. Hmmm. I’ve just just fired up DCS after a couple of months absence, using Rift CV1 and Thrustmaster headphones. Like OP, my headphones work fine until I’m in DCS. Then there’s no sound at all. I’ve tried ticking all the headphones options in turn in DCS audio settings, but to no avail. I’m at a loss too ... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Yes pimp, I’ve noticed a degradation too. I only fly A10C, so I can’t comment on other modules. I haven’t got any FPS data but things aren’t running smooth at all on my usual settings. It was much better before. And I’m getting full-blown stutters, which I’ve never had before. Boo! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Ha! As crazy as it sounds, I’ve found myself opening the canopy as soon as I’ve landed to cool down! The weird thing is … it seems to work! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  18. In 3DVision I have a major problem with lighting on the ground at night. Lights aren’t ‘anchored’ to their proper sources, but move around unrealistically according to where they’re viewed from. Road lights swing either side of the road, car headlight beams are detached by some distance from the cars projecting them, runway edge lights dance across the runway and so on. It’s very distracting and immersion breaking. Reducing 3D depth reduces the effect, which finally disappears when 3D depth is zero — obviously not very satisfactory. I’d be very grateful if somebody could tell me if this is a known bug. Is there a fix in the pipeline? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  19. How do you get to know this stuff? Checking mirrors on/off in settings didn’t make any difference, as you expected. But I then changed the name of the OpenBeta folder in Saved Games, as per your instructions, loaded the game and hey presto! Mirrors as good as new! I would never have worked this out on my own in a million years, so I’m very grateful for your expert help. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  20. Thanks ever so much. I’ll let you know how I get on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  21. For some time I’ve had no reflections in my mirrors (unless I install Ricardo’s Horse of War cockpit mod). They’re just white. I’ve tried repairs but they’ve made no difference. I’m running the latest Beta build. I can’t see any mention of this on the forums. Is anyone else experiencing it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  22. Can I add to this a similar problem. In Nvidia 3D vision, there seems to be a weird effect with lighting on the ground at night. The lights aren’t fixed to their proper sources, but move around in an unnatural way according to where you’re viewing them from. So road lights swing either side of the road they should be attached to, car headlight beams are detached by some distance from the cars projecting them, runway edge lights dance across the runway and so on. It’s all really distracting and immersion breaking. It certainly 3D related, because reducing the 3D depth reduces the effect - but the effect doesn’t disappear fully until 3D depth is zero. Are there any suggestions for solutions at my end or is this a known bug? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  23. I had had really bad experiences with Saitek customer support (i.e. The complete lack of it) in the past, and reluctantly bought their combat pedals because there didn't seem to be much alternative. They failed in the same way after just 6 months - one of the toe brakes stopped working. I got exactly the same story. They would have replaced them but they're discontinued and there are none in stock so I can have the basic, cheaper model instead or wait an indeterminate amount of time for Cessna pedals to come back in stock. I don't know how they get away with it. They claimed a 2-year guarantee on these things without any intention of backing it up, which is fraudulent as far as I'm concerned. Reputable companies, like Specialized, the cycle manufacturer, who guarantee their bike frames for life, keep a ring-fenced stock of replacements just so they can back their guarantee up. I bought my combat pedals from Box.com as opposed to Saitek directly, so I'm trying to get a refund from them. I'll post again to say how I get on. One thing's for sure: I will never have anything to do with Saitek products again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
