  1. LCtrl + S to mute game. Lifesaver when spectating
  2. I believe Floyd is correct. We've encountered this before when trying to orbit with the nose in a certain direction. Cant attest to what is correct. but it definitely flips quick. Video is of the event. There is some swearing taking place. As well as a fair amount of giggling and concerned noises. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1457302444
  3. All my testing has taken place within the blue dot on this image. The issue is present every single time. Regardless of the map. QuiGon referenced this page immediately to my first post. While important information, there's a serious flaw currently.
  4. I seem to be unable to get an hour flight to produce a track small enough to upload directly. here's a google drive link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V3Wvy8me6C1QySK0-8ajZqYKGMCltrsJ/view?usp=sharing I hope someone can get something useful out of the track files, replays sure don't work. tried twice and never made it off the ground. bummer. had a pretty good landing and wanted to watch it from external. Next test will be trying the same thing but below 10k hopefully the fuel lasts long enough.
  5. Interesting that you had ALT1 go before ALT2. my case has always been 2 first. (5 times so far) Master Valve Control Switch is on.
  6. Appreciate it! For the sake of testing I tried it in a mission that was at -5C and experienced the same issue. so at least not entirely heat related. Track file is just too big to attach. I'll see if I cant get a smaller one later on.
  7. While I would have no idea the proper way of troubleshooting the alternators. I flipped the switches, ensured no circuit breakers had popped. and just in general scanned the pit for something out of the ordinary. No luck. For the one that made it home it also would not repair once I'd shutdown. likely another bug similar to the f-14 flaps not constituting a repair as of a few updates ago. (don't know if that's still valid.)
  8. This is extremely useful, however unless I'm reading it wrong my 28k ft and roughly 330kt speed should have been no issue. at no point in the flight after takeoff was I below 300 or above 30kft
  9. Had this happen last night and just went out to reproduce. not sure what I'm doing wrong or if there's a bug. Loaded up MP on Marianas map, 3 bags and two AIM-9JULI, (happened with other weapons last night) Started up, all lights extinguished, takeoff in burner up to 10kft, drop to mil and climbed to 28k, set Autopilot ALT/HDG and Engine at 8k RPM, 30 minutes from startup, I loose ALT 2, as soon as this happened I turned around and flew back the way I came. 30 minutes later, ALT 1 drops and my aircraft is dark, engine is still running. Last night i was slow and methodical, and gingerly cruised home with no issues. Today i had well over 4000kgs of fuel so i decided to use the burner to get myself oriented to the airfield. engine died after a few seconds, ( i suspect the intakes didn't move due to electrical) Still very new to the aircraft but this is consistent. no idea what I'm doing wrong or if perhaps its a bug. Please help!
  10. Well, after finally getting some time in 2.7. I'm very impressed with where it is currently. The lighting has improved so much! though now it makes me feel like I'm playing Arma with the way the shadowed lighting makes stuff look. not worse though that's for sure! Definitely needs some polishing but nothing is critically broken. the sun shines pretty brightly through even thick clouds. making there be a bright spot in the clouds even when that cloud is effectively casting deep shadows on the ground (which are awesome). The weather system is still missing thunderstorms which isn't big but I do enjoy being able to set those. fog is very broken which im aware is known but makes it difficult to fully make poor weather conditions at low altitude. However, rain and snow does now obstruct your view while flying much better. And finally with the weather I'm hopeful that when the dynamic system comes in it is able to interpret existing missions with dynamic weather that people spent time trying to get right. otherwise ill have several missions where the weather will need to be completely redone and ill have to google foo myself another meteorology degree. The last small complaint is it appears that the aircraft all need some touch ups for their lighting. Both internal and external. many of the US aircraft with the grey cockpits seem to be too well lit. areas that should have shadows like under the canopy rails are still well lit and results in a bit of a plastic looking panel. F-15 is the worst for this from what I've seen. but I've noticed it on the viper and a couple others. including some Russian stuff like the Ka-50. On the flip side the externals of most US aircraft look pretty good with their darker grey schemes. many of the Russian aircraft with the colorful paints seem to be too bright. su-25 and mig-29 seem to fit this bill. but its also very prevalent on the A-10 and mirage 2000 with their lighter color schemes. While they look great up in and above the clouds. while sitting in their shadows they seem to be too bright. Overall great work and I'm excited to watch it develop and expand. there's so much exciting stuff in the not too distant future for DCS!
  11. Seeing as they collapsed on the viper and gave us triple rack mavericks. Then it would seem fair to have the GBU-54 on the hornet. However, I cant find anything anywhere that shows the gbu-54 to be rated on the F/A-18C of any type. I can see plenty in regards to it being a supported platform for the F/A-18E/F. Does anyone have anything that demonstrates a charlie hornet using this bomb?
  12. The short answer is yes you will have an advantage. but don't expect a whole new experience. My personal rig has 32 Gb and while playing DCS my pc very consistently uses about 24gb actively. A buddy of mine went from 16 Gb to 32 a few weeks ago and he noticed an improvement. particularly in the reduction of studders. page files can help but memory is far faster than storage. he had been having issues with crashes on large multiplayer servers like AO. At this point for me personally, I would not build a computer that has less than 32gb. However, if you're on an older system 16 is still sufficient for a lot of things, and buying "new" DDR3 isn't something id recommend. Maybe find some second-hand sticks out there, a boost to 24 or 32 Gb will likely help. But again, don't expect a whole new experience.
  13. From the beginning, an ongoing state of confusion has arisen regarding trying to host a server for DCS. Performance issues and the like. DCS in itself for both regular and server installations is stuck to a single core of a CPU. not something I find all that pleasing. but whatever. So I had an old system kicking around FX-8300 OC 4.0GHZ with 24gb ddr3 1600mhz. and a GTX 970. not too bad. But here's the thing. despite the fact, I used this system for a couple of years to play DCS. it sucks. The server runs but performance is poor and I'm constantly dealing with issues. and aircraft pinging around in space. I had an i7 build I got to snag for a little bit however that's since fallen out of reach. during that time though things were much better. so okay, back to the thing about single-core performance. There's an obvious difference between the two chips but it doesn't seem like it should hurt that bad. my internet should be the bottleneck with just a 7mbps upload. At this point, I'm tired of the old system and want to get something that is smaller, quieter, and better for hosting servers, most notably DCS. but I'm scared to run into these problems again and I want to know what specifically about a system makes it work better for DCS while we're still using only a single thread. (please Vulkan faster) I've also heard that some servers have some way of utilizing the GPU for some extra power. and seeing as I have a GTX 970 just sitting in that system It would be good to put it to work. Can anyone shed some light on what can be done to optimize server performance as well as what hardware makes for a solid, stable, and high-performance DCS server platform?
  14. Any news regarding an update today? Getting those last-minute bugs squashed, Or do you think it might get pushed to tomorrow? Either way, I look forward to what's in store.
  15. I'm going to link a post I made where I have a similar issue. Hopefully this can get worked out. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=264374
