  1. I am getting a solid 45fps at 4x MSAA with deferred shading on. Here’s the rub: pixel density 1. It looks fantastic and performs flawlessly This is with a 1080ti
  2. Came here to say the same thing. The rendering of the trees as you fly is quite annoying indeed. I've tried most settings and the only thing that seems to help (minimally) is increasing visibility range, but of course we can't do that comfortably and maintain fps as even with a gtx1080ti anything higher than medium will ruin your frame rate
  3. Someone should show this thread to the devs, if they haven't seen it already :( Months of waiting to be utterly disappointed
  4. Anyone else disappointed? Or is it just me? I have a problem with tree's popping in, in front of me from nowhere, no matter the tree visibility and general visibility settings. Also, I've had to scale down nearly every single setting incl pixel density, visib range, shadows, and so on just to maintain 45fps, and still it struggles to maintain that. This is using a gtx 1080 ti Is the map just not optimised for VR yet?
  5. Literally 30kbps. The internet was faster in 1944! Ok maybe not
  6. Maybe they're drinking vodka and laughing at this thread
  7. Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force: You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped, and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely. But this is the year 1944. Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned. The free men of the world are marching together to victory. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory. Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.
  8. You're all going to have to wait. I'm first!
  9. I also just went from a 980ti to 1080ti and had abit of stuttering at first. I re-installed the card and made sure everything was tight and re-run the oculus configuration and now it's smooth sailing.
  10. Time to go play with the bigger toys
  11. never built one of these before. so many parts!:pilotfly:
  12. Didn't realise we were in the wrong forum but since we've gotten started can it be moved? Anyone else want to share? Some cool looking builds so far!
  13. Hi Guys. I was wondering what you've all got setup and would like to share your configurations or sim pits with us? I'll start the ball rolling with my setup. I ditched alot of stuff when I went VR. I'm a rotorhead/helo guy so - Black lynx pro collective/cyclic/rudder for helicopter flying, saitek switch and multi function panels. Oculus rift CV1. Here's my brother getting to grips with the huey
  14. When do us unwashed masses get to have a go? Any news other than 'late may'?
  15. I get solid 90fps in vegas with settings set to high and 1.0 pixel density at 1.5 pixel density and 16x anti-aliasing it's solid at 45fps This is using the huey and a i4790k/gtx1080 ti
  16. I just picked up a evga 1080 ti sc+ to replace my 980 ti Definitely seeing an improvement in VR as you can imagine. Does anyone have the best config for maximum eye candy whilst maintaining either 90 or 45fps?
  17. Hi All. I was wondering if anyone has done any investigation on the best nvidia configuration to squeeze the best performance out of the rift? Variables like multi or single display performance, tripple buffering and so on and so fourth ?
  18. I was in the same position as you last week and had to decide between the two and went for the rift for all the reasons posted here. I guess you have to ask how much time you are going to spend in DCS as supposedly the rift performs much better according to all the posts here. I've had mine for a week and have spent most of my time in DCS and it is absolutely amazing. Very smooth, it never stutters or lags. Very smooth experience. Love it. You will not be dissapointed
  19. Hi, Does this FM have a slight deadzone in the cyclic action? There's an area of non-input and then suddenly it responds abruptly (as we all know) once you leave the center deadzone on the cyclic. I'm using a pro-flight trainer lynx cyclic, which hasn't a deadzone, so it's not the stick.
  20. Nevermind, if you land next to them they take off...
  21. Hi, I've fixed mission one (from a download on here) and on mission 2, the rest of the flight (who are at the waiting point) don't take off. Is the campaign really buggy? I am having a terrible experience so far. Love the helicopter but this campaign has been terrible and i'm only on mission 2?
  22. 1) Yes, it's normal and no it doesn't consume resources it's a mirror of your left eye 2) Me too, but you stop noticing it once you stop paying attention.
  23. Thanks. Pop-in, is visual objects suddenly appearing in your view from nowhere at quite close range. Eg; A lamp post suddenly appears, whereas it should have been rendered further back to avoid breaking the immersion. It doesn't do this for me in 2d but does in 3d, or perhaps i'm just noticing it more now
  24. Does anyone know a way to alt+tab or something to virtual desktop or 'bigscreen' so you can browse/Spotify whilst flying. Once you're in DCS you feel abit stuck there and have to remove the headset frequently if you need to access the PC. I'd like to stay immersed in VR but seem to be locked into DCS all the time when it is running. Also, does everyone else get a fair amount of 'pop-in' quite close up when in VR or is it just me? Many thanks
