As the post says, I am looking to upgrade either my vid card, cpu or both depending on cost and availability. Currently running an Intel i5 12600K, Rtx 3070 FTW 8gb, Prime Z690M-Plus D4, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 DDR4 (32gb but have 64 ordered). I have the quest 3 and looking to jack up my performance and achieve some stable fps in the Apache. Other aircraft I can maintain a fair fps of 45-50 and sometimes 70 depending on map and server. But the Apache flatlines my fps to unplayable numbers. I would share my settings in game and my desktop but I am away at work. But they are lowered to low settings in all but textures in game. I am looking at upgrading my vid card to an RTX 4070ti Super. Or should I look at doing RTX 4070 ti and upgrading the CPU. Budget is roughly $1300...and with that what would you recommend because I am going down a rabbit hole that will get me divorced lol. Thanks for any help.

I got it figured out. It was the VR Desktop that was the issue. And yes, it did run ..smooth may be an over statement (you could really see a difference between what is was and what i get now without VR Desktop) but there was no freezes, lag or glitches and it looked pretty bad outside the cockpit. I know, I'm baffled at that myself. I am flying using the cable link rather than the airlink. Thanks for the reply though. Had a friend on discord helped me through the process and proper set up. Currently, I get between 18 and 23 FPS. Its smooth with no jitters, tearing or artifacts. When I first enter and sit in the Apache, I am upwards of 45 to 50fps but it drops very quickly. PC is about 1.56 years old now. But i would like to maintain a modest 30-40fps if its possible. I haven't really messed with much inside the oculus settings. In game I lowered them to medium except for textures is on high. I do plan on upgrading to 64 gig ram within the next month. I have watched all the videos and tweaked the tool tray and debug tool as well as the VR desktop. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I have recently returned to DCS (about a month ago, maybe a little more), in that time I have installed, and reinstalled dcs on my pc about 3 times. I have a new PC coming in about a week or 10 days. I had installed the stable version as well, but now only have the open beta. How can I see how many activations I have left. I went into my account on the website and into the orders and details but there is no indication there of how many activations are left. Do you use activations for reinstalling on the same PC? Do you use them up for installing open beta or only in the stable version? Thanks in advance!!

Hi folks, I need some help. This problem only started today, never had it before. I installed a mod today, the smoke and fire mod (latest version), ran a training mission with no problems, ran a regular mission no problems and created a fast mission for ramp start and set flight systems. Now I get stuck in loading screen when trying to access the training menu. Any word on this problem happening before? How to solve it? Thanks for any help. Whiskey

Finally....got it working thanks to you chaps. I uninstalled everything to do with DCS from the pc. Started fresh from the beginning. Followed the same steps as before "to the letter" or keystroke if you will. Voila, it worked this time.....guess third time lucky, maybe files were corrupt (although only got that message after the first time) or just some failure but most likely human error at some point :music_whistling:. In any case, I have it working now and looking forward to jumping back into the cockpit and moving some mud. Been a while...since FC2 since I flew jets. Stage 5 is were it gets haywire. The A-10C_1.1.2.1_EN.exe does not list a file location once initiated, I have to browse for the location. Once I select a location it states "DCS World 1.1.2.1 or greater should be installed." Whiskey

That is what I have done up to the last install, which is the A-10C_1.1.2.1_EN.exe, it tells me 1.1.2.1 or greater should be installed.....doesn't say its installed or even go through an installation process...then just left with the desktop staring back at me. Does this mean its installed? When I go to multiplayer the version is still 1.1.1.1, :crash: It did not list a default folder to install into, I had to go into browse and select program files. Is that correct? Just install it into program files/default folder or do I have to put it some were else?

There is no DCS World folder....just the eagle dynamics folder. I dl'ed everything on that page that I was told to....still unable to get this thing figured out. No World folder, just the Eagle dynamics folder, an icon on my desktop that says DCS A10C. So am I missing the world install? Even though I have got all files I was instructed too. Gonna need Steven Hawking to install this I guess. Man, do the problems ever stop? Seems to be really difficult to install these updates. I am trying to install the A10C open beta plug in and when I run the exe it starts fine, but then it has no default location to install into. I looked for the info but I found nothing on a location. Not sure if I just install it into the main folder or what. What folder do I install the open beta plug in for the A10C? This is driving me crazy, the process is probably the hardest I ever had to do.....either that or my brain function has bottomed out! Whiskey

Yes, I dl'ed only the one and it was a big file and it did put the icon on my desktop.....which does work and takes me into game. Will dl the A10C_1.1.2.1_EN.torrent now and install. Thanks peeps. Whiskey

Thanks...dling the torrent now...so that is all i need for DCS World to work? What else do I need besides the torrent file to be able to fly my A10C in World?....or can I just use my key from steam and play? Whiski

Yes those are teh files I have from the page you posted. Every time I dl them and try to install...it says they are corrupt files and to obtain them again. Not sure why, but twice now from the same page (the one you posted) they won't install...I am logged in as admin so there is no reason they would not work properly. None that I can figure anyway. Ok, so I have purchased A10C from steam. I have read that I can use the key for the steam version and use it in DCS World. Ok, here is were my problems start (cause I am daft)......I have dl'ed 5 files total from the DCS site...1 being the DCS World (715 mb in size) and another exe and 3 bin files. What order do the installations go in? I tried installing the world first....it told me I needed to have 1.1.2.1 or higher installed and then nothing.....i tried to install the other exe with the bin files and it says it is corrupt. Do they make any thing easy anymore? Or am I just getting more stupid with old age? Any help on the files I need and the order I need to install them would be greatly appreciated. I am currently running 1.1.1.1 version through Steam. Thanks Whiskey

Hello! Just purchased A10 from steam and now I am in the process of trying to figure out how to install DCS World. My squad mate told me to install. I have the exe file and 3 bin files....how do I go about installing these files to run World? Is there a certain order the files go in? A particular folder the bin files go into? Any help on the process to install the game (from steam) into DCS world would be much appreciated. Fly safe!! Whiskey

Hey peeps, been looking real hard at buying Black Shark. Have lomac FC and loved it. My pc ran it very well too, my pc is a 3500 AMD proc, 6800 Ultra Geforce 516, got 2 gigs ram, SB Audigy 5.1 sound card and thats the nuts and bolts. Will that run the game smooth enough or be comparable to LOMAC FC for playability. Or is this game a little more demanding than FC? Thanks in advance. Whiskey

Been almost a year now since i got back into the seat of LOMAC:FC. :helpsmilie:Have to reinstall the game....i have all the patches and upgrades since this game first came out. I have not downloaded any patches or mods or anything since a year ago. Have there been any new upgrades since then? So i am a little behind on what i need....now i need to know what to install and in what order from the beginning (fresh install)....like i said...its been a while:D . Can someone please inform me as to what i need to install and what order in order to be able to play in the HL servers and give you guys an easy target to shoot:D.
