  1. just some screenshots you might enjoy looking at
  2. if you fly the A-10C II and are in NZ, Auz or USA timezones come check us out 110th squadron trailer https://youtu.be/uSB1dvN7FpI We are a small squadron called 110th squadron with very active members that fly every weekend. -110th squadron is a group of guys flying the A-10C II and is part of VPAC ( Virtual Pacific Air Command ) and are masters in the roles of Battlefield Air interdiction and Armed Recce. We train and operate at low level and are not the type to sit up at 10,000+ ft and drop guided weapons all day, instead we get down and dirty to put our weapon of choice to work... that weapon being the GUA-8 -We have all your normal bells and whistles with dedicated server, missions involving multiple squadrons/airframes and indepth training including flight plans and briefings before each training and mission and our own custom skins -We are a causal squadron which is training to become master of our aircrafts and have fun. -We train most saturdays between 1400-1700 AEST and joint ops on every 2nd Sunday around 1200-1600 AEST -we train from real life manuals from the US navy, USAAF and US air national guard and more to be the best pilots we can and have a collection of over 30 manuals that any Hawg pilot can read once passing our short checkride only requirements are that you are older than 16 and own the Persain Gulf map ( we are using the DCS open beta version of the game and not the release version ) VPAC also operates the F-18, F-16, Mi-8, Uh-1, mi-24 and soon to be JF-17 https://discord.gg/tPBTdcu93r
  3. the ILS in the A-10C II only fully works at the following 3 airbases in the UAE ( Dubai Intl, Fujairah Intl and Kasab ) and doesn't work at every airbase that has a ILS active. other A-10C II players i fly with have also comfirmed this to be the case on both single player and multiplayer
  4. love the new Fire fighting stuff, loads of fun when doing it alone or with other guys. best heli server to date in DCS
  5. i am no longer a part the group that i recruiting for and someone else has taken over my old tasks, can a admin please remove this thread thanks.
  6. i highly recommend NOT using Grim Reaper tutorials as they are of very low standard, best info sources to use are Chucks Guides ( https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-dcs-mi-8mtv2/ ), the ED manual by Belsimtek ( https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/magnificent_eight_flight_manual/ ) or if you prefer you tube videos there are vsTerminus ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcsJYdaffnVHiituz7dnogw) and Matt Wagner ( ) vsTerminus will probs help you most as its very up to date
  7. During my combat start up I put both engine stop levers forward before I activate the engine starter, then once engine 1 has reached 40% the engine becomes self staining and I stop the engine starter and switch to engine 2 and begin starting that, then full throttle and as soon as main rotor rpm gets up I’m lifting off while engine 2 rpm is still climbing up past 70ish percent Not sure if such a quick start is possible irl but can be done in game
  8. While the Mi-8MTV-2 in DCS uses the TV3-117MT turboshaft engine, the mi-17 model in the videos your provided is not defined hence it could be use any of the following engines: TV3-117MT, VK-2500, TV3-117VM, VK-2500PS-03 or VK-2500-03 (engine models from wikipedia)
  9. there's a fairly new AUZ/NZ group started a few weeks ago that fly F-18,F-16,F-14,A-10C,Mi-8 and hueys https://discord.gg/DEF987
  10. please note the airframes, we have the Mi-8MTV-2, the ones in the videos you provided show a Mi-17 which is a much more updated and modern airframe compared to the Mi-8MTV-2 we can fly in DCS
  11. to fly the mi-8 well you got to stop flying it like how you want to or expect it too. that is your first mistake. Mi-8 is very maneuverable but all too often i see and talk to people flying around not understanding the relationship between the Automatic engine control, rotor RPM and blade angle/collective. balance these 3 things and you can do alot of things and flying so much smoother and stable. and to prove my point here is video sample of what the mi-8 can done when the sweet spot is found its a big helicopter so it moves alot more air and thus creates a much larger down wash so you have to move the heli much further than others to get/keep in clean air and stay out of your own rotor wash. which again is another common mistake i have seen. And also its nothing like a school bus. if someone compares the mi-8 as a school bus to a hueys sports car (which i have seen all to often) then they are out of touch with the world, somehow in there mind a school bus has a better max speed (290kph level, 370kph in dive,) better cruse speed (230kph), larger payload (weapons and external sling), can do backflips and other aerobatics from ground level not 1000ft high, can fly further on a single tank of gas than a sports car huey XD also large helis are much more maneuverable IRL than most public people think, example CH-53 test flights
  12. if you remove the external hardpoints in the mission editer it will remove the pilots gunsight
  13. love the server, rescuing a group of 16 people of the side of a cliff with a strong wind was super intense and enjoyable, and combined with a SAR skin to complete the feel, i can't wait to see what other things you are working on for the server
  14. you can use F9 to select the carrier them position the camera then either use trackIR to keep looking at the aircraft, (f9 is the camera for boats and will cycle through them if you keep press it)
  15. i am currently creating a Heli logging mission and have decided to share screenshots of it, its currently will not be public until the group i'm flying with have flown the mission on the 07/03/2020 enjoy the eye candy
