  1. The WMR pushes 60% more pixels than the rift.
  2. Hey. Ive also got the acer headset and 2.5 just hangs during mission load and eventually crashes regardless of settings. Hopefully someone at ED can take a look at MR support.
  3. Once I close the calibration window, the joystick defaults to it's default behavior as seen in the video. This behavior persists as default even without logitech profiler installed. Ive opened the stick and checked the gears that connect to motors and they have no wear. Flying with the calibration window open isnt possible since the calibration window sends adverse FFB effects to the stick with each button press. Any ideas will be appreciated :joystick:
  4. Hey guys! I have a problem with setting up a g940 stick: Windows 10 64 bit logitech profiler and driver are latest 5.10.127 Firmware is latest 1.42 The issue im having is that with the ac adapter plugged in, the joystick does violent snaps when moved into corners(combined X and Y movement) The only way ive found to alter this behavior is to keep the calibration window open and put the centering spring force on 30% or less:
  5. Will ed store keys bought in russia with rubles, activate outside russia?
  6. Correct. That is not to say that the vive wikl be a subpar experience, but strictly for dcs/racers, definitely go for the rift. A good aftermarket 980 should be fine. You might also get away with some degree of supersampling.
  7. Labels are still on the table, just saying. They can also be configured to be very unobtrusive. I doubt a cv1 user with 1.6 pixel density, and light labels will find it impossible.
  8. IMHO there is no point in going beyond 2xMSAA on an Nvidia card. You have an option in controll panel to add MFAA on top of MSAAx2 for a MSAAx4 result for MSAA 2x performance. The rest should be handled by your pixel density settings. Other things i'd tune down first would be the shadows and civ traffic.
  9. Personally id love an early access sooner than later just to have f-14 carrier landing training occupy us for a looong while ;D
  10. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/raw-data-released-performance-accelerated-by-nvidia-vrworks The first title to use NVIDIA VRWorks’ Multi-Res Shading is on the way and it is perhaps the most interesting feature: Nvidia claims around 30% framerate increase using NVIDIA VRWorks’ Multi-Res Shading. Both maxwell 2.0(970,980,980TI) and Pascal Gpus support this technique. One wonders how hard such implementation of nvidia libraries would be in DCS world, as it would allow to push pixel density setting even further :joystick:
  11. You are swapping maxwell flagship for a pascal middle tier card for 15-20% performance increase at best of times. Do note that DCS doesent use nvidia vr works, hence doesent use SMP. Also fun fact: 980ti also hardware supports an SMP method, but nvidia pretends like they never mentioned it in the whitepapers. Assuming a VRvworkd supported title does come out, Your 980tis should also see a performance increase.
  12. Asynchronous Time Warp. Its a software solution that reducrs jitter on lower and unstable framerates. It is a must for dcs.
  13. Ofc they want to unite the goddamn versions already and get an easier workflow :smilewink:
  14. Thanks for the input! How readable is the HUD for you with pixel density cranked? can you read the MFD's without having to glue your face to them?
  15. I'm not looking into using the headset anywhere outside dcs and perhaps generic vr applications. As far as I know Asynchrous time warp has already been implemented, and the headset is Steam VR compatible. I understand Oculus not supporting it much longer since it has no hardware to interact with future motion controlls, but I doubt the DK2's will suddenly become unservicable in an influx of VR manifacturers and standartisation in VR support.
  16. Hey guys! Anyone here runs the dk2 with increased pixel density? I tried the dk2 at my friend's place a while ago and wasn't impressed with the clarity. He was running a 970 with the headset at the time and density wasnt an option. He is getting a cv1, so ill be able to get the dk2 dirt cheap.(100bucks or so). Has anyone experienced the dk2 in dcs with increased pixel density here? Is it noticably better in tems of hud/gauges reading? I'm running a 1530mhz overclocked 980ti in a water loop with a 4.5ghz 6600k, so it should handle PD at 2 given the dk2's reduced resolution I reckon? Thanks ahead!
  17. And each and every one of them costs much more than the rift to produce. Ive bought a pg279q for a grand so im no stranger for opening the wallet. I just dont see the hardware inside the rift or vive worth 800-1000$ that's all. Now at 400$? Im very much convinced. Hope HDK2 gets no delays.
  18. I will once it stops being grossly overpriced by greedy resellers due tl stock issues. currently waiting for OSVR HDK2 to launch. a 400 bucks vr headset sounds tempting compared to tbe 800 dollar rifts and 1000 dollar vives available to me.
  19. Thanks guys! It seems that nvidia was lazy with it's surround implementation, so gotta use sofTH to make it happen. Gsync on the middle screen seems no go either. :/
  20. yes its about a grand for the canvas and about 3 more grands for the projectors.
  21. Thanks for some of the info! I was thinking about something along the lines of http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgaming/en/product/bezel/ see how the rendering is aligned to wapr it all into a coherent image? :joystick:
  22. Hey guys! Long time dcs fan here, and I'm in a little predicament that I hope some of you more experienced simmers can shed some light on. I'm usually working and gaming on a PG279Q 27 inch monitor. While the high refresh rate and gsync is awesome in other games, I don't feel like it all that matters in DCS. I'm thinking about improving my dcs experience with a more panoramic view but these options have been eliminated: Rift CV1- Tried with a friend's rift and resolution is way way too low for my tastes. Selling the PG279Q and buying a 34 inch curved ulttra wide Losing a lot of features that are good for other titles, ultra wide resolution often unsupported. So here I was thinking of buying either two cheap 27 inch 1440p monitors for a surround setup, or using an oportunity to get two 24 inch 1080p IPS monitors for free! Now here are the things I have no idea about: Can DCS use a 27 inch 1440p main monitor and render the sides on 24 1080p monitors while keeping it all at same scale? Will in this setup Gsync be maintained on the central monitor? The PG279Q has exremley thin bezels, so I'll be able to hide the side panel's bezels pretty well. Still, does Nvidia or DCS do some besel compensation in rendering? Assuming I get two 26 1440p monitors: will 7680x1440 drive my 980ti to the ground? Its at 1550mhz and liquid cooled, but im affraid it might be way more than it can chew.
