  1. Wait.. so am I not supposed to tell Jester to do a fine alignment as part of cold start in offline campaigns that have stored headings? I have the bomb fall line alignment issue also.
  2. The Flanker is the first jet that I tried in DCS and after years of flying it, even though my A2A skill sucks, I can comfortably say I am very comfortable flying it and I understand how to operate it very well. I didn't try anything else until recently, where I tried the M2000C and then gave the Tomcat a go during it's trial. I just didn't gel properly with any of them. I really, really miss the radar/HUD integration and the position of the HDD radar display that we have in the Flanker. I can fully create a picture in my head without looking down and this adds to much more easte to creating a picture, for me. The position of the M2000C's radar display requires me to look down and I just really struggled to get used to this. There are also simple things, like using degree values intead of a bearing arrow to determine target vector in the M2000C that just seems to cost more mental concentration to create a picture. These things add up to make a big disadvantage for me, and I just feel right at home again when I fly the Flanker. The Tomcat with its extremely basic HUD is a real turn off for me. Simple things like not having airspeed and bearings in the HUD, again I really struggle with. Does everyone else feel this way or is it just me? Am I too reliant on these Flanker ergonomics or am I missing something in the M2000C and Tomcat?
  3. I'm guessing this is still a bug. Attempting the radar INS update sets the crosshair to true location instead of where I pointed it at, which was nowhere near the actual landmark.
  4. I got the M2000c my first full fidelity module after having FC3 for years. I was enjoying the F14 a lot in the free trial but bit expensive for me still.
  5. Su 33 cockpit lights dim, not Was about to post this issue then found this thread. The Su 27 is fine for me, but I get the dim lights issue on Su 33. Photos attached, plane is completely unplayable as most important lights are just too dim. I thought they completely werent working at first. When did this issue come in? I will have to roll back as I want to start the Su 33 campaign.
  6. So I lowered all settings, except resolution, to it's minimal, and the VRAM only went down to 2.8gb usage from 3.0gb. I've got no real breathing room here at all so I'll just live with it. FPS are good to me so it's ok I'll just live with the stutters. I increased the preload radius as mentioned earlier to see if that will help.
  7. I've updated my system specs on my sig now. I tweaked my graphics settings using the DCS optimisation guide on this forum. Like I said the frame rate is great, I get 60 solid in the air, and around 40 on the ground. I play on a 49 inch TV at 1080p 60. I will try now to go from absolute lowest settings upward and see if VRAM usage changes.
  8. I have a Nvidia 1060 with 3gb of VRAM. I get good FPS, but I get occasional micro stutters which I think may be attributed to my VRAM usage. As soon as I start a mission, my VRAM goes straight to 3gb usage. It never seems to drop. Please check my settings attached. Note I have tried changing terrain textures, vis range, shadows, a-filtering, msaa all to lowest settings and it makes no difference to VRAM usage. I'm not sure if this is normal..
  9. I'm having the same problem. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  10. Just for some practise I'm trying this scenario, vs 2 excellent AI. My aim is to try level the playing field by just trying to kill one at least as soon as possible, but I'm actually really struggling to bring even one of them down. I can fire over 4-5 long range missiles at him but they will all miss. I seem to win 1v1's all the time in the same scenario and can kill the bandit in max 3 missiles but seems much more difficult when outnumbered. Any advice? Tacview-20161207-224524-DCS.txt.zip
  11. No they are all disabled aren't they? R-27R, R-27ER, R-27ET. ET is fine, but why are the R/ER inhibited if the AIM-7 is allowed? I couldn't equip anything but R-73 on Su-27 yesterday.
  12. Why are AIM-7 available but R27 inhibited?
  13. Rudimentary force feedback? Please elaborate? I wasn't aware there was any. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  14. Moved to opentrack and now I get more degrees to turn with. A shame, I paid for my FaceTrackNoIR as well as I thought the GUI was better.
  15. I have made another thread about TrackIR problem I've been having here: https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeagle%2Eru%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D177189&share_tid=177189&share_fid=74365&share_type=t FaceTrackNoIR curve problem Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  16. I've been running it at native currently, with 16xMSAA. I can see how lowering the resolution could make the targets larger, but at the compromise of the rest of the graphics sharpness.
  17. I can't get more than 90 degrees pitch up output on my curve settings. When I go over 90 degrees output, DCS goes funny. You can see this in the video I uploaded. What's the problem here? ${1}
  18. I'm using this at the moment. In general it's ok, probably lacks just a few buttons for DCS. Biggest problem though for me though as mentioned before for precise movements near the center of the stick it does stick a bit too much and creaks. This has gotten worse since I bought it. 19. Been playing some 1v1 dogfights recently. It's possible it's just me as I'm not really that good yet at the game, but I'm find spotting enemies an absolute pain. I've been doing custom 1v1 missions me Su27 vs an excellent F-16 blk52. I'm really, really struggling to keep an eye on him. I have model enlargement to max. I have mild clouds on, and pretty much everything else on the highest graphics setting. My monitor is 1680x1050, 22" and that's my resolution. I sit pretty much point blank on a desk. With labels on, I can defeat him most the time. But with labels off, about 80% of the time I end up losing him and as soon as I lose him I'm dead. The only chance I have a remote chance of spotting him is when he is on the horizon. Above the horizon in the blue sky, or below against the ground, it's like trying to spot a grain of sand. Is there anything I can do to make this easier? My TrackIR also doesn't seem to go above 45 degrees on the up/down axis which doesn't help.
  20. Great, will give that a shot. It seems this is where the fire and forget really comes into it's own. I've added another successful tacview, comments welcome. Managing to win using the hiding tactic at will now. I'm hoping to start playing online soon, I hear this strategy is used quite a lot with the Su-27? Tacview-20160920-210623-DCS.txt.zip
  21. So been trying the hiding in the mountains tactic and been having quite some success, even with the AI's cheating awareness. Ended up in a very close 1v1 dogfight after I popped up right near one of them which was great fun, and I won it! I've attached the tacview to that. I've grasped 1v1's against the AI, I'm a lot more confident in those. I've been doing 2v2's also but being terrible at those. It seems my wingman always get's on defensive early and leaves me, then it ends up being 2v1 and I'm normally toast. Tacview-20160920-203702-DCS.txt.zip
  22. Tried about 20 more times today, trying to take these points into account. General strategy I've been trying is to fire an ER as soon as I break through his jamming, and then I start to bleed his AIM-120 slowly by gaining altitude or trying to get it on either side of me while going hot on him again. I try to brave it out here either by climbing or keeping it on my side but not bleeding my own energy. I try to keep an eye of the RWR and try to make out how much speed the missile has. Both missiles would pretty much always miss here, then we turn again hot, and depending on range I would fire another ER or ET, and he would fire another AIM-120. If the fight isn't decided here, the next bit is normally decided wether or not I can still see him or not! It's very frustrating when I end up losing him, and it happens quite a lot. If I fire an ET here, I go strong defensive against a high energy AIM-120 but then I usually end up losing him, and then I normally get shot down. If I fire an ER, the radar lock doesn't let me lose him but I'm restricted on my defense so sometimes get hit. If I don't lose him, then I have a good chance to get the victory as I'm in R-73 range, and just try to go flares defensive for his AIM-9. I've attached some tracks so please take a look and feed back, I'm finding this a lot of fun and any further training ideas are welcome :) Tacview-20160823-210710-DCS.txt.zip
  23. I refrained from using my ER's here because I was trying to practise getting within close range where the Su-27 is meant to have an advantage, but have been struggling to implement that strategy. I have practised using ER's also while getting close which does give me a higher victory rate as it keeps him busy while I close in enough for my R-73's. In this situation many times we kill each other! I find it so hard to detect his AIM-9 and also keeping sight of him when I go defensive. When I lose him he gets me every time, as there's a heater coming at me already if I spot him again. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  24. Su-27 vs F-15C Hi, I've made a custom mission for learning 1v1 long range engagements. The mission is: 1x Su-27 (Me) R-27ER, R-27ET, R-73. 1x F-15C (Excellent AI) AIM-120B, AIM-9. Both hot, 8km altitude, 80km range. I've been about 25% victorious so far, done about 25 times in total. Firstly, the Su-27 RWR. I rely on it a lot, one thing I've noticed is this. In the track I've uploaded, the enemy F-15C will get the first shot off, an AIM-120B and then he will start flanking immediately, does this pretty much every time. I can pretty much evade this first one 100% of the time, but the RWR only seems to start it's missile launch warning when the missile is already about 60% through it's journey to me. Why is this? I've started using the enemy's flank action as an indicator for missile launch now, can bleed it's energy more efficiently using this method while retaining mine. Following on from that, after it's evaded, there have also been scenarios where further AIM-120's are fired but the RWR still reports the old one as the primary threat. What I noticed after that was, a last AIM-120B was fired, and I didn't get this on the RWR at all, the last one that got me. What's that about? I thought it was a heater initially in the game, but my Tacview says it's AIM-120B. This is captured in the Tacview. One more thing about R-27ET. I use this missile to sometimes get a very quick shot off while I'm already evading an AIM-120. This is usually unsuccessful though. Even though I get the LA in EOS mode, in Tacview I've seen the missile not track at all. Even though it's shot hot right on target. I fire the shot while already in mid turn, stop the turn momentarily and level horizon to fire, then immediately resume the hard turn to evade. On the contrary, I've also witnessed me having a strong EOS target lock, R-27ET selected, within rMax, but no LA? R-27ER will still have LA when I switch weapons. This is all a learning experience for me and overall I'm enjoying it a lot, but some confusions. :joystick: Tacview-20160820-185335-DCS.txt.zip
