Hi I've made a one time trigger at mission start to turn the fuel off (I think it was fuel, maybe it was mags) you might hear the engine quit, but it starts right back up.

Hi all, DCS WWII is intimating at first for beginners, and I have wanted to start a thread for a while pertaining to basic taildragger handling characteristics in a serious, but fun kind of way, because we are here to have fun in the end. The goal here is to give useful information to persons who may want it. If you notice I try to give a lesson with a screwup at the end, because nobody is perfect. for this particular vid, I chose the Fw-190D-9 because of it's wicked stall characteristics, any aircraft will do, even jets. The idea is to keep it an instructional level. Please post your vid here also, but ya got to include a screw up! to show what not to do.

Can someone possibly give me a TL;DR on engine management?
Andy1966 replied to Tree_Beard's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
Hi, sounds to me like you are over boosting the engine (too high manifold pressure not enough RPMs) not sure though, a track would help. -
Assigning Hotas commands in F-15E
Andy1966 replied to John Galt's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs - General
Hi, I ran into an issue where my joystick was on the list and the throttle was not. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, then auto detect saw it then, and all was ok then. try unplugging and replugging and see if that helps. let us know how you make out. -
hi, you can update between stable and open beta easily using the command prompt or use Skatezillas updater utility. it's easy and takes only a few mins, it keeps common files and only updates what is needed, to keep only one install.

I already pre ordered months ago.... I'm bummed out, I'm at work and can't play. One hour and 10 mins...

I should add if you do update, It's a good idea to keep a copy of the config, and missions folders. -
Sinai Map not showing up to module manager after purchase
Andy1966 replied to Thumper68's topic in Installation Problems
you can update your stable to the current open beta. it is pretty easy if your familiar with the command prompt. look for Skatezillas updater utility. You can either download the updater, or look through the thread, he describes how to do it with command prompt. -

Gunner Issues - Accuracy and engagement problems
Andy1966 replied to RafaPolit's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, yes the B-17s area little easy as set by default. To adjust the skill level, in the mission editor click on the aircraft icon, and you will see the aircraft skill settings. set this to veteran or ace. then go to waypoint properties and go to ROE and set to weapons free. this should help. Then adjust to your taste. -
just open beta

That was some good flyin'. scissors are a good tactic. The tricky part is being able to pull lead and not stall, that will determine the victor. I need to go online more I miss the dogfights.

This is a rather long video from when I first started recording. feel free to fast forward to the good parts. I swear this is the most difficult landing I have ever done in DCS. An unfamiliar aircraft and a sick one at that.... Mods, If this is the wrong place for this, please place it in the correct place. Thanks

Hi, All, This was honestly my first flight on the new map, recorded about a month ago. the sound is very low, but it is audible if you turn it up, barely. You can hear and see the wing tips hit... I only saved it for testing, but it was so cool, I thought I would post it here. Mods if this is the wrong place for this, please put it in the correct place, Thanks

Does the release of Normandy 2 make the Channel map redundant?
Andy1966 replied to imacken's topic in DCS: The Channel
I am silently hoping that possibly ED will do something similar with the Channel map that Urga did with Normandy, possibly extended north and east. and I am dreaming now, then merged with Normandy. It sure seems strange that Urga didn't bother with the parts of England that are hi detail in the channel map, i.e. Manston and the surrounding area. A stepping stone maybe, but not redundant.
