  2. Hello DCS community, me and my mate are looking for Australian A-10C pilots to form a squadron. We are in Australian Eastern time zone (UTC +10) and fly on a fairly regular basis, 2-3 times a week mainly in the evenings 7pm onwards Australian EST. We are semi-serious and don’t use military rank structure. Our aim is to create an easy going friendly environment where we can socialise, have fun, learn more about the beautiful hog and perfecting our flying skills. We regularly conduct training flights, practicing skills such as employment of various munitions, employment of various tactics, working with JTACs, formation flying, AAR etc. We also do regular co-op missions to bookend what we have been practicing. Currently we only fly A-10C but down the track will look into learning other aircraft. We welcome people of all skill levels, new, veteran, ace. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information feel free to send me a message. We are also open to the idea joining already established Australian squadrons that need a couple of A-10C pilots. I have over 300hrs on the Hog while my mate has over 100hrs. We are proficient in using all munitions, inputting JTAC co-ordinates, building wind tables in LASTE, using ILS, TACAN, inputting target co-ordinates from Bullseye calls……..AAR needs some work though. Safe flying. Regards Jim and Dave

  4. For those who love computers For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on. At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated, 'If Ford had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.' In response to Bill 's comments, Ford issued a press release stating: If Ford had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics : 1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash.........Twice a day.. 2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. 4. Occasionally, executing a manoeuvre such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single 'This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation 7. The airbag system would ask 'Are you sure?' before deploying. 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. You'd have to press the 'Start' button to turn the engine off. PS - I 'd like to add that when all else fails, you could call 'customer service' in some foreign country and be instructed in some foreign language how to fix your car yourself!!!!
  5. Hi DCS community, my name is Jim and I’m from Australia. I've been a long time lurker in these forums and just recently joined. My childhood dream was to be a fighter pilot. At the age of 18 I applied to the Airforce for officer training to become a pilot but was rejected:(, ran home to mum and cried like a sissy girl:cry:. 11 years later I found DCS and finally stopped crying. My dream is now fulfilled. I would like to thank Eagle Dynamics for making this kid’s dream come true, keep up the good work. Will be catching you guys in the virtual skies soon enough.
