  1. I did not realize that this aircraft is quite close to home as the Irish Air Corps fly seven of the 9M variant. So I am interested in this now and will see if a nice livery can be done for it. Now that would be cool for us Irish DCS flyers. You can see some nice videos of it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/@TheDefenceForces/search?query=pc9 And I do have to say this photo is class. The stadium is Croke Park in Dublin. Credit to Irish Defence Forces, https://www.military.ie
  2. Great insight into surviving a SAM hit and how training saved her. A-10 Fighter Pilot who Survived a Surface to Air Missile Hit | 100+ Combat Missions | DFC | "Killer Chick" Podcast link Kim racked up over 1.8K flight hours in the Warthog; 375 of those in combat across more than 100 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also has one of the coolest call signs ever: Killer Chick. For anyone who’s been on the ground and seen an A-10 on a gun run, you can understand why so many ground pounders love this platform. For Apache pilots, the A-10 is our fixed wing cousin and we feel a very close affinity with this incredible machine. Outside the cockpit, Kim led the Air Force Academy’s Center for Character and Leadership Development and, since retiring, has carried that expertise to the private sector where she provides leadership development training and team engagement.
  3. Just bought and installed it this morning! Looking forward to trying it out over the Christmas period.
  4. Can someone please clarify the actual fully discounted price for the Channel map? Currently it is $34.99 on the site, a 30% discount for everyone is what I see. I just pre-ordered the Mossie so is there an discount on the $34.99? Below is the news item on the DCS site. That is clear to me. get the mossie, get 30% off. But there is already 30% off so then it would not have made any difference if I got the Mossie or not!! Poor comms if it is from ED...
  5. Thought I was going mad yesterday in the A10C. Complete system freeze when it happens. Using the latest open beta. Log attached. dcs.zip
  6. From Reddit and Check Six. It is here on these forums somewhere but I couldn't find it. Sorry if a repost. Looks like pedals and new sticks for the Hornet and P51 going by the image. Happy days indeed. :pilotfly:
  7. http://imgur.com/a/tcrvE Here is my attempt at mounting my HOTAS on a desk. I have a (dusty) X52 and an IKEA standing/sitting desk. I was inspired by the excellent Monster Tech desk mounts. http://www.monstertech.de/en/ I bought the metal plates in a local DIY store. They are the metalwork used with wood for building roofs and such. Wood connectors I think. You can view some of them here; http://www.woodiesdiy.com/category/Wood-Connectors/1.5.2.8 So I have four 90 degree panels and four flat panels (80 x 240mm) plus two small plates (80 x 40mm). And all bolted simply together as you can see in the photos. I used a strip of industrial Velcro to hold the X52 in place. As it sits on top of the screws, it needs to be thick but it works fine. I have two largish G clamps to hold them onto the desks and they are fine. You can get four x 50mm ones that can go each side but my ones work fine. There is no real adjustment available as the holes on the plates only line up in one or two places. As my desk can move up and down I can adjust it that way. But the first time I used it, it was fine and didn’t need any vertical adjustment. I will add tape to the plates to smooth it off and smooth the corners and also cover the end of the screws. Total cost was €36 and the Velcro was the most expensive part of that. It took about 15 minutes to put them altogether. Now I need to upgrade the X52…
