So does this mean if the host runs the mission with "easy radio" it should resolve the problem?
Just the idea to check that both systems have the same setting there. Generally that setting just means you can use the radio regardless of set frequencies.
If all the frequencies are set correctly in the ME it should work anyway, but perhaps make sure that for the MiG-21s you look into the 'additional settings' tab and set the Channel 0 frequency to 251 as well.

Since it does work in single player, apparently with the same mission, I'd suggest you check that the options are actually set the same. 'Easy Radio' options make the radio change frequencies automatically. If you locally have those options set, but the host in your multiplayer session does not, this discrepancy should appear.

I think these are actually two very different things.
One being effects on ground units, which leaves a few things to be desired currently. Looking through the encyclopedia one can't help but notice how some of the ground units seem to come straight out of FC1, whereas others look much more refined and detailled. It would be nice to have them all updated again sometime, brought to a common standard, and - one can dream - incorporate slightly more elaborate damage effects. Especially things like fragmentation damage could make iron bombs much more interesting.
The other topic brought up is AI reaction to attack, which probably is a much more complex issue to tackle. I agree that popping plenty of smoke is probably a bit counterproductive, considering how it would just mark their positions more clearly. One of the points making it difficult is how there is not one reaction you would want to see every single time. Sure, convoys should break formation, but they shouldn't scatter all over town whenever they see a fighter plane flying over. The whole 'taking cover' requires plenty of information on lines of sights, attack directions and so on, which is very hard for AI to do.
I think it might work better to keep these major points seperate.

Absolutely agree.

Well, it's not perfectly real-time, but the DCS-NL server has a script that updates the weather based on real-life data every time the server restarts.

I'd be surprised, given how the ATC communication generally uses the VHF AM band. But I know the principle does apply: homing only works during transmissions.

Yes my opinion. I want to fly for fun .. Have fun flying. Uses a module that is not working and no fun losing time. Each new update coming more and more errors .. Error in performance FPS is quite critical .. module can not be controlled, aso-2 does not work. Radar does not work. Constantly those same bugs .. module in combat is not applicable. SO WHAT..?
No hard feelings, your opinion of course makes perfect sense from a sim point of view. Just doing something else of course makes more sense than sitting there moping, but my irritation stems more from a consumer point of view, in which 'just moving on' is a rather bizarre move to all those of us who do not have virtually unlimited funds.
I get your opinion is that those fixes are just not happening and you are entitled to your opinion, but keep in mind others are as well.

Interesting point of view... "If the product does not work properly, just buy another product instead!"

Your screenshots interestingly show how while the spotlight illuminates the terrain in the distance, it fails to illuminate the nearby terrain tile.
Just out of curiosity: does it work right on objects like a FARP? At least in 1.5 neither the landing light nor the search light show any effect on the FARP surfaces, which seems rather odd considering how that might be a primary purpose.

I think the C-2 would be a nice idea, especially if it added some functionality like air-dropping supplies and/or troops. It would open the door on that for some heavier lift planes somewhere down the line and would lend itself to quite a few interesting missions.
As much fun as flying the AWACS would be, for the pilot it involves flying in a racetrack pattern for very long time, so not entirely sure about that full multicrew thing just yet - perhaps putting some autopilot on that and switching to the rear seat would be a viable way.

Hi, I've just been messing around with setting up AI ground-based FAC and came across the somewhat curious fact that by default some nations seem not to have FAC capability.
A Russian BTR-80 can't act as FAC - the task just doesn't appear - whereas the same vehicle under, say, a Georgian flag can. This holds true for some seemingly random nations.
Is there any reason for that or is it simply a bug in DCSW 1.5?

Shouldn't what you are trying to do work just fine by selecting "Start (hot) from ground" as waypoint type?
