Oh, I think you will in the next two months.
I still want some positive vibes first.

I quite agree that there are no perfect solution. At least there could be a "clear all" button in the controls settings, and then one should be able to import the copied luas. Thanks MAXsenna for the suggestion. Unfortunately though that doesn't actually solve the problems I've listed:- New peripherals added where DCS 'automatically assigns' buttons and axis as DCS 'guesses', leaving us with additional axis assigned we don't want. Copying back a 'backup' won't get rid of the default bindings on the new peripherals where those files don't exist in the backup, and
- If doing a device replacement, or a computer upgrade - doing a copy/paste doesn't work either. Then the GUID's need to be also changed - and even then, it's not just a matter of changing the GUID on the filename either; Where modifiers have been used, these references need to be changed in the content of the individual .lua files - making in my example above, a search and replace for every different GUID/Device where they're used in 75 files).

I'm gomma extend my vocabulary with that new word!Good shout 4eyes, haven’t used my desert skins for a bit and I could do with a change of scenery.
I’ve got maps I never use, I should get out more. Saying that I was flying about on the Sinai map earlier, first change in a while.
Also looking fjorward to the Kola map .

Wish it was!I am aware they would be completely cosmetic. Snow for all intents and purposes is not even simulated in DCS to any real effect.
Cheers!

So, I read it like you're definitely gonna fold? Good for you! You deserve it buddy!
It will be called the "To keep the children quiet sale".
If something is due, and then delayed, there will be a sale. Everyone knows there are no new releases during sales, so everyone reflexively takes a breath and turns their dials to "calm" for two-weeks.

Haha! Yeah, I did understand that. My mother actually has Christmas antlers for her convertible, and a red nose. Go figure.I was kinda kidding. Shame, had my eye on these too

Just to be clear. By "antlers", I actually mean a contraption like the Delanclip, which I have, only shaped like the trackclip reflectors and to be placed on the top of your head/headphones, and not on the side To minimise the downward angle of the camera and to prevent the clip to be closer to the camera when looking right, and farther from the camera when looking left. I've come to the conclusion that this will be the best setup with a large screen when using OpenTrack. Can't believe anyone doesn't sell this. Love my metal Delanclip. It's unbreakable! Then you need LEDs for tracking (the "antlers" with the IR LEDs, for the camera to pick up and track movement reliably).
At such angle and distance, it will never be fine with the hat reflectors - those are meant to be used in a small angle (almost right in front) of the camera, for small(er) screens.
DelanClip (wired or wireless), plugged into USB and placed on headphones/headset (at right or left of your head) is the most reliable.
Or do some yourself (plenty videos on Youtube, but ignore the camera and software part - the "LED antlers" work with the TrackIR camera).
Some even do them to be placed on top of a hat with a small AA battery.
Cheers!

Might be one, but I'm sure raindeer will be better. I have borrowed the expression from someone else. Can't give credit, as I can't remember where I first read it. Most importantly, it's to be placed on the top of your head, and not to the side.I'm more interested in these 'antlers' you speak of . I can't go robbing a moose farm. Is there even a moose farm? nvm
FWIW OP I have a similar issue with mine.

Guess I missed that. Thanks!Which I acknowledged way earlier. That said, the OP has the issues he does because he's not using LEDs.

Altitude/speed hold? Not sure if it actually works. IIRC, you can find it twice as an on-off-on, and just momentaries for the three positions. Have you looked in the manual, as I'm not at my computer.Hello, just a quick question please?
On the main console (Gazelle) at the bottom right there is
3 inter to go up and a 4th finer next to where it is marked
(SA 342 speed altitude) I would like to assign a physical button to it
but can't find the match in the instrument settings in DCS?
Does anyone have the answer?
Thanks in advance

And this can be solved by using IR LEDs instead of reflectors. Just sayin'That's because the angle is too great for light to be "seen" off the camera's axis.

For looks only I suppose? The snow depth in DCS isn't even a millimeter thick, so skis are not really needed. It would be nice to have this map have the skis options for helicopters like the apache and chinook since ED have said that they will not make them for the apache even though this would be the perfect map for them to be. Especially considering the annual nato operations and trainings in the region where skis are seen nearly every single time
Much like there are certain additions to the base game that the South Atlantic pack gives you
Cheers!

I wonder how the Yak will fair in the Dynamic Campaign Engine!I know preferences vary from person to person, but the ME gives you unlimited content in DCS. I haven't actually played any of the official content for any module because of the ME and I never consider what content is available for a given module because of that.
The ME will take some time to learn, but making small missions is pretty simple. DCS also gives you tool to randomize missions so that even if you make them, you don't necessarily know what will happen when you fly them.
In the longer term ED is working on a Dynamic Campaign to produce content automatically. There is a very very simple version of this already available in the Fast Mission Generator.

Can't comment on TrackIR, but I've seen in some videos that it compensate for what he's describing. In OpenTrack this happens to a certain degree, and if you have mounted the sensors to the side of your head, you will see some lean in/lean out movement, (zooming), depending on your curves. I've seen somewhere that TrackIR has a smart function to prevent this, and why I have planned to get me some real TrackIR, (only need the camera for the software), down the line. And I plan to make me some antlers with IR LEDs.Nonsense! At least in a practical sense.
TrackIR has no way of knowing if the line of sight between the Camera and sensors is tilted relative to the floor.
I run it that way since forever, and my head movement is captured flawlessly.

Exactly why he need antlers.Strictly as a guess, the way it sounds to me is OP has a larger screen, which is (probably) closer, thus forcing the larger angles I've discussed. Tilting becomes necessary/greater so the camera can 'see' the reflectors, but that doesn't resolve the rotation problem.
He describes that moving back improves the tracking issues but is too far from the mouse/keyboard.
His statements, taken as a whole, to me sound like his monitor is too high at the distance it's mounted.
PS As I described above, you can get away with the centerline of the monitor being higher if you're further away. But the closer you get, the more important it becomes to have the top of the monitor inline with your eyes (ie same as the reflectors/LEDs).

Make some antlers and place them on the top of your headphones. Like Sharp/Hiob writes, use the app to actually see what the cam sees, and then bend the antlers to make the "image" prefect. With OpenTrack, one have have the possibility to have the camera behind you, and overt the axis. Not sure about TrackIR though.

You should have one post per wish, explained in detail.Moveable and resizable MFD exports! (Option to enable/disable)
Option to set min/max cockpit FOV in options!
Mirror resolution increase!
Helmet view.
Time of day/weather preview in the editor, not just the preview weather screenshot or sun and moon, although it is helpful.
More weather effects in general.
Busy Airport group templates in the editor.
Way more ground troop variations with the ability to have them evacuate vehicles and buildings under attack and mount and dismount vehicle units, parachuting, and gunning from building tops.
Quick re-arm/re-fuel option in options, instead of waiting 170 seconds.
Cheers!

Check double axis bindings in the controls settings. It does not behave like that at all for me.Question to anyone still using this mod I recently tried flying the t45 again after a while and I noticed the flight model seemed crazily unstable when I looked at the in aircraft hud the AOA indicator was up around 30 all the time, is that normal? And no matter how much I trimmed nose down the second I let go of the flight stick it would just pitch nose up I tried on several maps and weather conditions and they were all the same is my mod bugged or is that just how it flies?
Cheers!

Never put such mods in the core game folder. Only in Saved Games. You don't have multiple DCS folders in Saved Games by chance?Hi guys,
First, thank you so much Currenthill for those amazing assets, I had a lot of fun using them and I look forward to test the upcoming ones .
I'm sending that post because sadly, since a few days that I reinstalled DCS on my new laptop, I can't use them anymore for an yet unknown reason ^^ They were working completely fine before and now, I don't see them in the installed modules in DCS. And even with deleting everything, downloading again the game, the mods, reinstalling everything : nothing worked
I both tried putting the mods files in the user>game save>DCS>Mods>Tech and in the game folder itself (DCS>Mods>Tech) or using OvGME and chosing the game folder but nothing worked out
So, desesperatly, I'm asking here if eventually, there's a kind soul who can help me.
Thank you very much,
CB

No conversion needed. Just link your Steam account on the ED site and all Steam modules are available in Standalone. If you wanna use the Steam launcher again, just unlink.According to steamdb website, the lowest price was $29.99. If I see this sale on steam again, would it be possible for me to purchase it and convert it to work with the standalone version of DCS? Just incase steam has a discount 1st.

Like others have written. Defender all the way locally. Virtual machines when being brave, and pfSense on a separate appliance for blocking, monitoring, VPN and what not.

Won't comply! You didn't say "pretty" and what's an F16?
I don't appreciate when people tell me what to do when I'm having too much fun and a blast. Been waiting close to 30 years for a better Afghan map, and can't wait to hop into the Chinook.
How many times do you expect ED to acknowledge that the F-16 release was a little premature? You sound like my mother, still complaining about something that l broke 40+ years ago. Still love her though!
For the time being I'm gonna purchase everything in support, like Viking says. Hell, I have almost every campaign and only finished about five or so. My girlfriend wanted the T-shirt too. Didn't think twice about it. Heatblur deserves it! It's an expensive hobby, but nothing compared to drinking beer!
So cheers to all!
