Nothing right now. Terminal params are not currently enabled for the Harrier

[CORRECT AS IS] F/A-18C AG Radar EXP 1 button
LastRifleRound replied to a topic in Bugs and Problems
EXP modes rely on doppler sharpening. This requires an offset of 15 degrees or greater. The greater your offset, the better the picture will be -
There is a bug where aircraft movement between sweeps is not factored in to the designation. You can see for yourself. Make sure you have a TPOD equipped and open on the left DDI so you can see where your designation is relative to an object. Make your designation. Now go to active pause and re-designate. Stay in active pause. Wait a few sweeps then do it 2 or 3 more times. Designation will now be accurate. The same bug makes FRZ useless. Already acknowledged on here. I was hoping they'd fix it before the end of the year so I could follow the TACMAN procedure on this but it looks like it won't make it among many other things.

Ok got it. Looks like an issue then.
-
Can't tell from the video, but are you guys pressing uncage?

Right but you still see the diamond slew on the HUD. If all you can see is the HUD and a diamond slewing, it may not be obvious which sensor is slewing. I will say without TDC axis (and possibly with) it's useless. The smallest increment it moves is too large to hit anything. I really don't think it actually works like this is my .02. I know ED says it does, but a month ago they were also saying it wasn't a feature outside of a HUD AUTO designation, and for the same reason (SME input).
-
+4 However I can't use axis slew because I have an X52. I wonder if that makes the difference here? Do any of you who agree it's still jumpy use axis slewing?

Laser rangefinding isn't really simulated, TPOD always has perfect range to whatever ground it's pointing at if dropping non-laser guided ordinance. This means it will range 'through' targets, so you should always aim at the ground beneath them unless using a laser designator, which will recognize the target. TL:DR; laser rangefinding with the Harrier currently has no effect. As for the %'s, that's not probability of hit, that's the % you are within the LAR. 100% means smack in the middle of the LAR. Just because you're at the edges of the LAR does not necessarily mean you will have reduced accuracy, though I imagine being at the fringes and maneuvering would induce computing lag that may cause issues. Generally, even in other aircraft, I wait 10 seconds or so in stable flight after entering the LAR to release to make sure all the math is done. That roughly equates to about 20 or so in the Harrier.

This seems to be the current behavior in sim. I believe also it is commanded when using the HUD to slew the TD box (reported by swift earlier that this should be possible in all modes, not just with AUTO selected and no active designation as it is now), so again, when SCS up is commanded. Imagine you have designated an area target using the radar or WPDSG on some imprecise coordinates and are running in to drop some GP's in AUTO. On the dive, you'd SCS up so you can "sweeten" up the designation as you get visual. Any time you stop slewing, the radar takes the range at the point of the TD box and uses it for slant range. This isn't currently possible in DCS but should be.

Already reported this previously and was acknowledged, but thread is closed so cannot bump it. Just want to point out this issue is still there. To recap, AG radar designations are off in the direction of travel, as the map is not compensating for AC movement between frames. If you active pause the aircraft and wait a few sweeps, the problem goes away (because you are not moving any more). Also, increases in angular velocity to the mapped area in the EXP modes (particularly EXP3) lead to increases in scan time. The relationship should be the opposite. The more off-angle and the faster the aircraft is moving, the faster the scan time should be. Can provide track if need be but this thread is really meant to be a reminder. [W.I.P]FTT not tracking stationary objects

This is working perfectly now, think you can mark this resolved -
Campaign Mission 4 (Old campaign mission 2)
LastRifleRound replied to LastRifleRound's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Good deal thank you! That was the only one I was getting wrong. Once I could see the units I immediately knew what they were. Changing that one answer won me the mission. -
FTT IS GMTT. The literal, only difference between the two modes are that FTT is initiated from any of the map modes or SEA mode. GMTT is always initiated from GMTI. Other than that, it's the same thing. Just helps you remember the mode you came from.

I suggest widening the time tables on the campaign missions. They are way too tight with regards to aircraft performance. For most objectives you have to be in full blower just to make your TOT with 10 sec lee way and completely ignore the startup sequence you're taught. An extra 2-3 min or so should do it.

SPOILERS: EDIT:

Arco will not extend refueling baskets no matter what. Can skip using F10 option but you cannot refuel because of this. I did contact ARCO on channel Green 4 and received a positive response to rejoin, then was cleared contact, but the baskets were not extended.

[W.I.P]FTT not tracking stationary objects
LastRifleRound replied to LastRifleRound's topic in Bugs and Problems
Bump. Still says investigating. Should say REPORTED, WIP etc -
I'll get you one. I have the same issue. The slew speeds are all messed up, too.
-
If you have an active designation Maverick is not slewable. This is normal intended behavior. You should press undesignate to ensure you don't have an active designation. This includes WPDSG, radar, TPOD and HUD designations. As for the TPOD occassionally freezing, this is a bug. If it happens, use the SCS in the direction of the TPOD to cycle through track modes (ie press it three times to go from slewable to area, area to point, point to slewable). If you try these things and issues persist please post a track.

[RESOLVED] AGM-65F won't lock targets at night
LastRifleRound replied to Ramsay's topic in Resolved Bugs
I also want to add that TDC depress and slewing remain on the tpod because TDC mode doesn't turn off. If you manually click TDC then you can slew. Still can't lock, though. -
ARBS/DMT/MC/ dumb bombing, whats missing and whats not modeled yet
LastRifleRound replied to Harlikwin's topic in RAZBAM
I think by perfectly accurate he meant that the INS designation is just as accurate as DMT. If the two modes were split as they should be, DMT should not offer a solution nor be ground stabilized if it cannot achieve a lock as you describe. If SSS up is used, then the DMT would act as it does now, pointimg in the direction of the designation. The solution, however, would degarded as the height over target would be according to the aircrafts height over the ground at the time of designation. It's not up to RAZ to make a true contrast lock in DCS, but the existing lock methodology should be required to stabilize the DMT and therefore get a precise slant range. -
Ok I see. Never noticed that as an option before.

Ok that's what I thought then I heard it was actually for "ground crew" and uou could get fast alignments if you did something with the cartridge. I'll have to hunt down the thread where I saw it.
-
What is GC alignment and how does it work? I thought it was for a full alignment instead of manually entering a heading and more precise. However, now I'm seeing posts about using a cartridge to get a fast alignment. How does this work?
