  1. I'm in the same situation, I have several modules but the lack of performance means the game is unplayable. I appreciate this is a big ask, but ED please focus on the multi-threading performance improvement. As much as I'd like to buy a new module, both to support you and learn how to fly it, I won't be until the performance issues are addressed.
  2. Yeah she is an old CPU, but I was hoping that I wouldn't have to spend £600 upgrading the motherboard, ram and CPU. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  3. I'll give it a shot, thanks Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  4. Done all and it made a difference but I still drop to 15fps and that's when I have only 2 place was flying so I've decided to postpone investing anymore time in it until I get a new pc, ED update their code to utilise more cores and the VR headsets are of a decent standard as trackir is definitely a step in the right direction but it's still not 100%. I'd like to thank everyone on this thread for their time and hopefully I can join the community in a year or 2. Happy New Year to everyone [emoji2] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks for the tip. Regarding the FPS, I'm assuming u get higher than I do? Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  6. Looks like i deleted the wrong files haha, DCS won't load now. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  7. Ive completed 1 to 4 and then decided to re-run DCS as i had only just installed the latest graphics drivers last night. The screenshot is of me running away from 1 off p51. Ive selected the following settings: reduced the resolution to 1600 Picked "High" Changed shadows to "Flat only" cockpit resolution to 512 https://imgur.com/a/HKVzfra
  8. Thank you very much. It looked as though the CPU was at 50% for all cores but I'll double check when I'm home and run through ur recommedations. Really appreciate it [emoji106] Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  9. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have a 1070, ssd and a i7 3820 and I'm getting 10 FPS while dog fighting at 1920x1080. Needless to say I'm rather miffed. Thanks to those that have posted advice so far, will be giving it a shot tomorrow. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk
  10. 2.5.4 Hi, I've just bought the campaign, but its not showing up on my available downloads. I see it states i need 2.5.4 but my DCS is 2.5.3.24984. I've just ran the auto update but it says there are no new updates. How did you guys get 2.5.4? Thanks Fraz
  11. Do you think this is a game changer or will this increase be less noticeable?
  12. i believe there is an update i havent installed so that may correct the following. If so, please disregard this post. If not, is there a setting i have screwed up? http://imgur.com/a/SUNkM
  13. I know for a fact i will be buying it. Ive been toying with the idea of buying the Tiger but im going to wait for the Normandy map pre-release and buy that instead. Re the units, i thought i had read that the units would be available on other maps, maybe im mistaken though. Anyway, I'M COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL ITS AVAILABLE!!! :)
  14. I had the same prob n decided to format my ssd so I could have a clean windows only running dcs. For windows anyway, I believe as long as it's the same motherboard then it doesn't count it as a seperate install?? Maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm if that's true or I'm speaking ....
  15. @Cibit, you were right, the ssd does seem to have reduced the load times alot. I got that software n logged a simple dog fight. Lowest I got was 24 but this isn't full screen. Gpu was avg 94% with max at 99. Cpu was 3.8 but with the oc it's max is 4.6 so looks like it is the gpu now that's holding it back. Does anyone know when the 20xx series cards will b released?
  16. @BitMaster ahh ok, that's makes more sense. Any thoughts on when they will be available? Do you have a link to the website saying it's been cancelled? @Cibit just finished stripping it down to give it a dust n about to format the ssd. Here's hoping it has a bit of an impact of fps.
  17. Are there any etas on when it will b released. From what I understood the 1080ti is only just out or about to b released so it seems odd they'd release the new series so soon (I'm not familar with gpu release cycles though so I may b wrong.) @fragbum I have a ssd, Samsung 125gig 840 Evo I believe bit I was using until recently as a 2nd OS on the same pc. I may, assuming it's large enough, format it n through DCS on it. Thanks for the suggestion.
  18. "When I can avoid the ground" lol. I've got the huey module but no pedals yet so I haven't tried it yet. The 980ti is a beast compared to my 660ti, that's for sure. From what I've read it can still give the new cards a run for their money. I've tried running nevada in 2.0, 1 x p51 vs myself (bf 109) and the whole thing seemed to hang up at some points ie near collisions etc. Was planning to try n use HWINFO to log it again today n see if it pointed to a gpu bottleneck.
  19. Hi guys, Atm I have the following: I7 3820 cpu oc'd to 4.3ghz 64gigs of ram 660ti I'm getting some pretty terrible frame rates in dcs 1.5, 40-50fps in medium with no other aircraft, but this drops to as low as 10fps when a spitfire was right behind me punching holes through my Fw 190 with its 20mm's. Edit: it deleted half the text. I was wondering how I can check where the bottleneck is, I believe it's the gpu? Atm I'm running a 27" 1920x1200 monitor but was thinking of jumping up to a 21:9. Would love a rift but would pref to wait till they increase the pixel density. The 1080 is about 40% more than the 1070. Is it worth it or not?? Thanks for your help.
  20. That is cool. I take it he enjoyed ur sweet setup?
  21. @Mig21bisFishbedL i understand where you're coming from but i wanted to know which was the easiest so that i had a shorter learning curve / less frustration with having to manage the plane. Once id get proficient with the easier planes, id try the harder ones and read up on the different systems that you need to manage. Hope that clarifies things. Ive tried the Bf 109k, unfortunately i dont own a real one, but it doesnt appear to be very stable esp compared to the other WW2 aircrafts. Are they still updating the FM? @Kontiuka i have not tried the Spit yet but im not surprised. I saw one at the Le Bourget air museum in Paris and was surprised how narrow the undercarriage was.
