  1. As far as I'm concerned, the more quirks the better! Makes it a whole lot more interesting to fly. And giving us the option to choose between early and late variants is awesome! I would prefer the two different planes approach, for obvious MP reasons. However whatever the way you realize it, I'm convinced the end product will be amazing - as it is done by you!
  2. This is the best news in DCS for a long time, whish you the best of luck!
  3. Great news!!! The new radar textures also seem awesome on the MiG! I really appreciate you for sharing and working on your older products. If things continue to go ahead at this paste, the bird will finally be finished in no time! You have really stepped up a notch! :)
  4. If everything goes perfectly, by the end of this year! Though it doesn't hurt to expect a release later, maybe a few days/months into 2019.
  5. Yup, those with the MiG-23 are probably the newest Russian aircraft we can expect to be made in a long time.
  6. I'm so happy for you! Thanks to you we'll have a full fidelity counterpart to the F/A-18C, and a fitting one too in the Persian gulf scenario!!! Wish you the best of luck!

    congrats

Congratulations and good luck to you!
  8. Wait how does it work for you!?!?!? Nothing has changed for me in the open beta. Still have the 3 days limit... Is this supposed to work this way? *EDIT:* Ok nvm it just started working a day later, sorry!
  9. 3rd parties and ED don't usually share tech, so they'll have to make their own.
  10. Don't remember such a thing. And as far as I know, it wouldn't need one. Since they were only good against MANPADs, and the Horntes attack doctrine meant it was high up in the air. Also, sneaking up to a carrier with a stinger and shooting out/inbound aircraft is not the most realistic prospect. So I would be really surprised if it had or even needed one.

    Mig-19 hype?

Yeah, I think of it like heaters being used in A/G. Not the same though - as that didn't even see large training use, but kinda. Both would be wholly inadaquite when it comes to actual use as weapons. TY for correcting!
  12. Her bur durr durr... I ain't so varied in my soundy lettery thingy use, but I think they meant the and of May.
  13. Well, the SPO-10 is getting better. Now things as powerful fire guidance radars going off near it in it's general direction seem to trigger it even if not locked, and so on. Things are getting better. My theory is that they are waiting for the ED RWR tech to model it correctly, since that would allow it without massive hoop-jumping.
  14. 1+ I'd also love the module to potentially go in that direction, with the Mirage-III and MiG-19p coming out! Though we can all be happy that the bis is finally getting it's famous opponent - though both variants are kinda too late. At least the general aircraft are correct, no more fighting MiG-simulators!
  15. -Fast...........// -Cheap...... // [You can only have 2] -Good...... // And I am certainly happy with ED's choice - good 'n cheap! Though it does mean we have to wait a bit longer, it will certainly be worth the wait! P.S I know I screwed their order up.
  16. Sorta get what they're saying though. I mean the F-4 is also famous for not having a gun and being inferior IVR, never-mind that these things got fixed after and weren't somewhat true even in Vietnam.
  17. Yes, there has still been no pattern noticed as to who it affects. Luckily though, I'm not one of them.
  18. AFAIK the SOP was to turn the radar on and wait for 2 seconds, this is the time it takes to scan the full envelope. Any further use for scanning would be discouraged, since it has limited coolant. The radar would be kept on in the terminal and fire guidance phase of the intercept, determined by the GCI.

    Mig-19 hype?

Grumble, grumble... You aren't supposed to have a gun... Grumble, grumble...

    F-15E?

Now remove all the high fidelity aspects of the Hornet, Mirage, Harrier and Hog. Then I can understand your argument. But as it stands there seems to be no way of improving it. The most advanced thing for the RED side we could realistically dream of is a MiG-23/29A. But this is off topic, sorry for that.
  21. The Sapphire fire guidance radar is stabilized to the horizon within it's gimbal limits. This applies both the pitch and roll axes. you can see this when entering a bank angle superior to 30-45 degrees. The radar will suddenly start displaying tiled ground clutter. Same applies with pitch angle, where slight movements in the pitch axes don't effect the picture, but anything outside the gimbal limits does. You can see this when entering a dive and pulling out. As you pull out the radar picture normalizes once you reach the gimbal limits of the antenna.

    Mig-19 hype?

Sorry for not wording my intentions with that comparison, I find it alright since it's not a major part of the aircraft. Like your example would've been. I just used it as a comparison, since the majority of aircraft don't have such features in DCS. But as the president for some freedom (though it better be something minor and optional, i.e: the Grom, heater warning system on the Mirage, and hence forth) is already set, it wouldn't bee too much of a stretch.

    F-15E?

And the Red side has.... Not the greatest recipe for MP if you ask me. Most MP servers seem like a civil war between the western countries. Whereas if you look at choppers, the opposite seems to be the case - a civil war withing the RED coalition. So why not reach for more RED 4th gen stuff and BLUE choppers? The most likely reason is that both are near impossible (maybe with the exception of the AH-1).

    Mig-19 hype?

I don't either, but the point i was trying to make is that it would be strange if these features would be implemented. Since they were only prototypes that were later scratched. Though I guess we have stranger things actually modeled already. For example the Grom, which couldn't be used at all by the Bis variant of the MiG-21.

    Mig-19 hype?

Though neither were actually used in mainstream series and thus are not required to simulate a module.
