  1. are the speedbrakes going to be mapped to an axis someday? or at least make them move faster? the real A10 opens the brakes (during fast and low flight) in maybe 0.3 seconds, whereas I need 2-3 seconds to fully expand them...
  2. its impossible to expand the adress-space a 32bit OS can use, with or without any "programs", big or tiny ones. anyways, they changed the setup menu with the latest patch, so users running a 32bit OS can NOT turn on HDR, and can not choose high textures. even if i personally run on a 64bit OS, i think this is completely ridicoulous. (especially after giving out tips in the forums to change some very basic memory adressing options in the OS to get rid of the black textures) every user should get the same product and set the settings he wants, end of story as others already said, keep your eyes open for a 64bit OS as soon as you can afford it.
  3. i run a Gigabyte GTX-460 OC 1GB, and have the disappearing labels as well. never had it until 1.07, now i have it happen more often with 1.08. it's not a biggie for me, as i just alt+tab do desktop and back, which brings the labels up again. the big question is - is this due to "real" memory usage? (read: are the files stored in the VRAM necessary, and are they too large?) or is this because of programming issues? i only run 1 monitor on 1680 x 1050, run DCS from a SSD, with a i7 processor and 12GB RAM. if high settings use 762 mb on some elses grafics card, why should it need more than the 1 GB i have in my system? for me, it seems DCS is just filling up VRAM as long as there is some more VRAM, and if there is no more VRAM it starts to "overwrite" older entries. and there is where the problem lies i guess...
  4. gnah, our LAN starts on wednesday... now the big question is, do we start it with 1.1.0.7 or 1.1.0.8? worst case scenario - we start with 1.1.0.7, and on thursday 1.1.0.8 is released. And we will need to download the files with a UMTS connection up in the mountain. as i always have bad luck with such things, i bet it gets released on thursday lol :)
  5. it MAY lessen some stuttering, but only if you had stuttering before AND it must be have been caused by loading stuff from the HD... i have 12GB of RAM, but while running DCS, max. 3,7GB are used in total, has never been more. maybe not everything gets stored in the RAM because i use a SSD for DCS? i don't know enough about PCs to answer that. but more RAM never harms, and if you start working in photoshop / after effects etc, the more of it the better! (for gaming, 4GB is still enough today, and if you have to choose between more RAM and faster RAM, go for the faster one)
  6. sidenote: you can assign a SWITCH button in the options, instead of a MODIFIER. it's basically doing the same thing, but you don't have to hold it down. if you add button22 on joystick as SWITCH in the options, you only have to press it once, then you can use the keyboard with both hands, and press the button22 again to "unlock" the SWITCH status. if you don't have free buttons on your joystick, you can "free" up the arrow-keys on the keyboard in the options. (they are for nose up/down and rolling left/right, so to no real use anyway) then, use one of them as SWITCH instead of a joystick button...
  7. i use these settings for the axis, with less it was impossible to steer during takeoff... https://www.dropbox.com/gallery/27976781/1/temp?h=09936c
  8. just an idea - instead of developing a separate flightschool with all the hassle (and maybe only half the benefit of what one estimates), why not just open a new sub-forum ONLINE TRAINING / FLIGHT SCHOOL? every memeber can request some lesson(s), no hassle about sqadrons and stuff. i know, it sounds very unorganized, but it works :) we just did the same on buddyspike, a general information and meeting website for falcon 4, years ago. as long as there are interested ppl, and an active community, it works perfect.
  9. one more thing - when you are new in using PAC, and used to line up the targets by yourself, it really seems to work against you. i had that issue, until i realized i need to STOP MANEUVERING the damned hog :) when the pipper is on target, just press and hold the 1st stage and IMMEDIATELY cease all inputs on your stick. otherwise, you start fighting against the PAC. for me, this was quite hard to grasp after lining the shots manually in FC for ages. i'm still having that strange feeling of "not being in control of the plane" here and there when using it...
  10. or just post the screenshot here :) - it may help other people and/or - other people may help you so its one of these situations where you can only win by doing it, and not loose anything by doing it ;)
  11. page 134 in the GUI manual -> "Attack Map Object" i did not test if you can add triggered actions to a PLAYER or CLIENT flight with a wingman, but if you can, it should work. define the "attack map object" as a triggered action, and activate that trigger with a flag you rise. rise the flag by adding a entry to the radio menu and set that flag when selecting that radio entry... like i said, never tested, but may work for some easy "wingman, destroy that bridge!" commands. no feedback if target is destryed involved tough...
  12. i'm generally more concerned about the activity or passivity of my targets, rather than my munitions ;)
  13. landing on a carrier in RL is one thing, but how would you ever bringt it back in the air, armed and ready?
  14. me too... maybe the ones with the F15s are having a bug then :) :) but really, there are more important things for me than that hehe...
  15. jup, dont Alt-Tab out of the sim, or run it in windowed mode. at least i had the same and this helped. (if you are "lucky" enough, the smoke from destroyed enemies starts to look the same after Alt-Tab)
  16. i bet 98% (including me) don't even understand your question... (and what the heck is a parser...thingie?)
  17. jup, me too. would be a different story if you can have clutter everywhere, but as soon as i'm in the air the boundary between clutter and no clutter just disctracts me. when coming in for a landing its the same... no bushes, no grass, suddenly POPP - tadaaa, here we are, grown out of nowhere... would be nice to have it all over, or making the boundary more soft. but for the feeling of your speed when running down the RW, it's nice :)
  18. like he said - make a mod with transparent textures, stick is gone. as we have the final release now, i really think there is someone out there who can do that. if the mod is compatible with ModMan (once ModMan is compatible with DCS A-10), it will the work of a second to "activate/deactivate" the virtual stick in the pit. (and yes, i would like that option too. and NO, THE STICK DOES NOT DECREASE THE FPS :P)
  19. i used the (s)low rate of fire in FC 1.12 for destroying single weak targets with a single short burst. it fired less bullets in the shortest possible salvo, so i used less bullets per target. means, more targets per sortie :) but it's ok they took it out when the RL counterpart did the same. it would just be nice to see that info in the manual for less confusion... (i don't fly the A-10 right now anyways, as the gun feels, sounds and looks just silly)
  20. adding myself to the list - engine sounds, bullet hits etc. extreme (!!) low, the rest ok. changed bitrate, drivers updated, still the same. asus p5b-e onboard sound (@ 5.1, testet on stereo setting as well9
  21. ok, thanks then! may be nice to mention it in the manual :)
  22. hi all i was testing my new joystickprofile for FC2 yesterday and i wonder if there is a bug / missing feature, or if i'm just staring at the solution without seeing it... in the documentation, they show you the rate of fire switch in the pit, but they don't give a hint which button on the keyboard should be used (like for the increase/decrease ripple interval etc.). then, in the options menu, you can find the "toggle salvo" switch (or similar - i'm at work right now, so can't doublecheck, sorry. but it's in the weapons category, and there aren't many to sort trough hehe). so i set a trigger on the joystick for said "salvo mode", but it seems it doesn't work - in the 3D pit, the switch does not move, but a rectangular... "thing" comes visible in the HUD, lower left part. IMHO, the gun is firing with the same speed. is the difference just not visible/audible? is it not working at all? (and heck - if that command is not for changing the rate of fire of the gun, what is it then for?) any toughts / inputs appreciated (and no, english no native, so errors for you to collect and save missa, but me big sorry, yesyess...)
  23. that's something i wondered for myself. afaik, there are NO radiocalls used by any AI controlled units. the radiobeams may be calculated and simulated i a very complex way, but what for if they are not used in-game? even when i call the tower, and the tower gives me a response, my human wingmen do not hear the tower. not very realistic imho :) the one and only function of/for frequencies right now seems to be when there are more than 4 human players on one side. by switching the frequency it's possible to use the datalink feature with almost unlimitet sharks in the air. (and for tuning in the radio station, i know, but that's not really a very needed feature. a nice one for sure, but not that important...)
