  1. I do quick start, it's about flying for me not getting the thing going. I pretend the quick start is the ground crew doing it all for me lol
  2. Playing online with LOMAC and these people is great they are always helpful and understanding of your mistakes. I TK'd a few time in LOMAC in my over eagerness to shoot someone down as I finaly locked a target, it's embarasing but you'll get over it. You'll get better faster playing regularly online with people offering tips, it makes sense when the person is talking you through something and watching your mistakes than doing it by yourself.
  3. I'm still getting into it and can barely fly a nav route and deploy weapons. Just take your time and learn what you need to know step by step. Take-off, flying around, how to target and shoot and navigation. I'm fairly competent in the LOMAC Su-25T so I naivlely thought this couldn't be harder, but it is:) A good HOTAS setup works wonders and I've asked santa for a x-52 setup with pedals for xmas to replace my horrid Logitech 3d pro which was good for Falcon4 but can't handle the nuances of this complex flight model.
  4. Just got the game and spent a few hours watching track files before even touching the stick. Loved LOMAC and look forward to getting stuck into this sim as I love all things tank busting, dog fighting has never been my forte:thumbup:
  5. It not the best, and neither is crack cocaine, but it will do when the good stuff isn't available:thumbup: PS: I do not condone substance abuse in any form:)
  6. I pull back on the stick to slow my chopper down and I say "Whoa Horsey" like Im some cowboy or something, it can be embarasing when caught doing it.
  7. I like the focused battles of designed missions, they test your skills in specific ways. A dynamic compaign is fun but then gets a bit boring settling into a routine of either air based or ground based missions. A well designed mission giving the illusion of a campaign going on around you is the best experience in a flight sim I think. A comprimise later on could be a DC generator which can have designed missions overlayed onto it. So a campaign would be in motion but you would be flying a mission designed to maximise the experience. I'll be happy with whatever these guys come up with, they know what they are doing and they have earned the loyalty of a whole community by listening to us finicky flyers:joystick:
  8. When I dive low and pull back on the stick to flare out to into a hover I say, "Whoa Horsey" :(
  9. Falcon 4 feels like a game when flying the plane. Their argument is that they have modeled the flight controls system which use all the computer inputs to fly the plane and doesn't let you make any overtly stupid moves. If that is how it really flies than it must be one boring plane!
  10. Landing this plane is hard. Every other plane I can just roll in and flare hard and plop it on the deck, you try that in this one and your a fireball lol.
  11. Even incorparating the KA-50 with escort/insert missions would be cool. In NAM we Aussies used these http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-air-support/vietnam/gunships.htm to do the clearing of a LZ before the troops disembarked. It would be easy to make those sort of missions in the editor wouldn't it? Or a Blackhawk Down scenario where you cover a township while some Spetsnaz raid a high profile target. Anything to make you feel part of a overarching military structure needs to be implemented in this sim.
  12. The red mark at at 20 for AoA is the recommended limit for the plane, go over it and listen to it creak and groan lol. It's like the Russian space program, held together by spare parts but it works damnit! Over 700kph the plane realy starts to shake and makes aiming hard but the flaps in combat mode help somewhat with stabilising while in a dive attack.
  13. The two modeled 25's are the only planes in the game that make me feel like I'm flying. I like the 25T the best, it's the only one in the game with a TV guided bomb! Just trim it for level flight after you take off and after every weapon launch and it is very stable. You can't fling it around for a quick run in like the A-10 so take your time in planning and setting up your run and you can do a lot of damage in one pass.
  14. I bought EE2 off of eBay the other day because I really needed to play a whirlybird sim badly after looking at all the vids and screens of this game. I started my rotor sims way back with LHX when one large polygon mountain was fantastic. I'm having fun with the Hokum in EE2 and pretend it's the Black Shark, am I pathetic? I know I can't be the only one doing this, fess up!
  15. I'm stuck on the AWACS mission in the F-15 campaign, I've watched the vid on Flankertraining and everything but I have yet to shoot it down and survive. I bet I'll feel the same way when I finaly do it lol.
  16. Lol didn't we (I'm Aussie) spend a few million about ten years ago on upgrades for them? I live right near Avalon and we have a major airshow every two years at the airfield and the highlight is always the F-111 doing a low level fuel burn-off. Send a stealth fighter or bomber down for next years one for the love of all that is good! Look at the add for it, what a tease! http://www.airshow.net.au/
  17. I know the B-2 bomber with its JDAM'S only had to launch within 8 miles of target, the computers guide the bomb the rest of the way. Would it be the same with the B-52H? If it is then it wouldn't be that fun for me, I'd rather have a bomber that you have to do as much work as possible to target and launch.
  18. Damn Im stupid! I had a teamate kill our AWACS and I thought he was just a Noob that didn't know what he was doing.
  19. Same, I got the GOLD edition from them, it's the only place I could find it, they are very good only took 4 days to get to me down in Geelong.
  20. I still have my Falcon 3.0 manual lying around somewhere, I remember spending many hours just reading it for pleasure, especialy the different ground radar modes, I find those very interesting. Anyone think there will ever be a AAA sim where you must control a EWS grid and direct and fire SAM's? It would be cool to shoot down real players in a fully intergrated battle field.
  21. Mil Mi -24, Hind shooting at 1:27 you see some cleary orange tracer shots: American chopper seems to alternate between orange and red, also shows nightvision footage, really good vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDvtfCoPb-M BMP-3m at 0:56 shows orange tracers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjJzvwPLb84 At 1:42 tracer fire from American MG, doesnt say what type: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYtjsmPFFcs Says Russian MG but they looked like US soldiers: Various US Army small arms fire: Weird using blowtorch on NATO 7.62 round: Same deal 5.56 round: Tracer rounds blowing a propane tank up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb7pUeFPFao Might be already studied but conrifms what has been said: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracer_ammunition#Types WW2 Footage I know but I think it's worth looking at just for the ricochets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f9cqhuARrM
