Although we did not have any screenshots of the machine in flight on DCS, we did have numerous images of the machine's graphic development.
Nevertheless, it must be noted that the year 2025 does not seem to have gone as planned in terms of the project's development, to the point where one can frankly wonder whether this module will ever be released.

That's my personal opinion, and like St Thomas, I'll believe it when I see it... After so many years of announcements, I'm now waiting for something tangible and more than just a plan, a calendar or announcements...

the Bo105 has been in production since way before the OH58, easily  early 2013. frankly Im surprised the 58 came out first, but not really surprised its still not out yet. This is his pride and joy, so if he ever releases it its pretty much going to be a good module. Certainly worth my 60 bucks just for the effort.

  2. I really wish for the day that DCS World would use 30cm resolution for map textures...

I also really wish that we could modify bodies of water, atmospherics, and villages/towns on any maps as well. I think thats the one thing FSX/P3D/MSFS really does right, making basically the whole world upgrade-able. The one thing that always drives me nuts in DCS other than what passes as dirt patches is the random high rise crane in the middle of nowhere and everywhere and the bland water that always looks the same no matter how deep or shallow the water is.

    Cool.

Do not claim sugar isn't sweet. I hate it when people do that. Sugar is sweet, no two ways about it.

I never said you claimed otherwise, but DO NOT CLAIM SUGAR ISN'T SWEET!

Just so there's no misunderstanding, simply don't. Ever. Please don't make that claim! Just on the off chance you were thinking about it just now, DON'T! Even if you weren't thinking about it, I just want to be unmistakably clear that it would be absolutely ludicrous to claim sugar isn't sweet, because it is sweet! Right? You hear me? SUGAR IS SWEET, don't say the opposite.

If you think I'm implying you said that, I don't. Not with a single word did I ever claim you said that. You're reading things into my message I never wrote, but you don't bother to read it.

So please with sugar on top, just never claim sugar isn't sweet, and we're golden.

See, that wasn't so hard, was it?

just FYI, sugar is a poison. sweet, deadly poison.

    Well well well....

Looks like ED is n fact experimenting with the feature for Fulcrum at least - check out the last 10 seconds of DCS MiG-29A Fulcrum Early Access Launch video...

yeah I call shenanigans with that too. Not saying that they arent doing it, not saying its not realistic...just sayin that if it were me crawling into that cockpit, there would be a lot of bones creaking and my back hurts just watching it. One doesnt just "get" into a plane; one "GETS" into a plane.

  5. its overkill because its just 5 wires and I still have to cable manage the whole thing. Where am I going to hide it? I also have to think of resell value. Its a rare throttle and Id like to keep it as clean as possible. On top of that, I have to worry about pulling on the cable and damaging it further. As much as I like that idea (and I do, just did that with wiring my motorcycle up this weekend), I just dont like having exposed wires out in the open; its just tacky. Ill save it as a last resort, but Im a bit OCD with wire routing.

  6. Im pretty sure a terminal block is a bit much for just five 22awg wires. Ive thought about using crimp connectors and that would be just a bigger mess than its worth doing. It would work, yes....but thats like sticking a band aid on a bullet wound. Id rather just replace the connector or the entire wire and keep it clean. I got enough wires to worry about where cable management is already a nightmare. I got a new connector arriving, just need to find a tool to set the wires.

looks like a jst ph or sh 5 pin connector. There are several places online that sell these. Installing is very simple and some even come with a tool.

JST, PHR Female Connector Housing, 2mm Pitch, 5 Way, 1 Row.

Got a pic of the other side.

    heres that.

Shouldn't be that hard to get that connector on a new USB cable with a bit of solder and heat shrink, I should know, I once replaced all the wires on my Saitek Rhino Throttle

unless it's the connector itself, but I believe that's a very common JST connector anyway

(Though I'll admit that finding local shops still stocking small electronic parts are getting rarer every year)

I just dont know what kind of connector this is. I took it to an electronics repair place and they couldnt source a cable for me. I dont think this one is going to be hard to find, but Ive no idea about this stuff. This is why Im asking, I dont know what kind of cable I need. I just know its a 4 pin USB 2.0 cable with a 5th wire thats shielding.

  9. because Im hoping someone can source me a 5 pin USB-A cable that doesnt have to come all they way from lithuania and I can fix this week. I did email them today and they're happy to ship me one...but USPS hasnt been too friendly with my packages that have come or gone out of country this past year either coming home damaged or not at all. Id like to keep customs out of it if possible.

Also should point out that this isnt the round connector; its a clip on 5 pin bar that you pin onto the motherboard rather than into the base of the control. Its an older throttle, something Virpil quit making about 5 years ago.

@Hammer1-1 @NRG-Vampire Gents, I am going to pull an early father Christmas here for both of you. You are both clearly passionate about aviation and particularly the Cobra.  That is a great thing.  You should both appreciate your enthusiasm to debate the accuracy of this free mod, but let's not turn this into a bar fight for such a silly debate.  Shake hands and both of you look forward to this coming out.  I would hate to see the ED team come in and crash the party because this convo goes off in the weeds.

What I think would be awesome is if you 2 tag up when this is released and take turns in the pilot and gunner seat.  I would donate $10 to hear the video debate in cockpit.  LOL

Its not even a debate; trying to impress people by being a dick seems to be the norm around this place.

Exactly: a "naked" 20mm gun (without any cover) is above the skids, (that is clearly not a "pod", hard to describe a 6-barrel gatling gun as a "pod")
IMHO most of the people thinking about the ammo box of the gun when you asking/mentioning a "pod" : that's why i posted a frontal view pic

You think I dont know the difference between a pod and a minigun? The skids assembly is attached to the fuselage. Right above the skids is the fuselage, and right above the base of the skids are pods (or fairings, or ammo boxes). Quit acting smart and just let it go, ok? If I had referenced to the miniguns on the wings, I would have said miniguns on the wings. Just...stop. At this point you're just making yourself out to be a dick.
