I'm ready to navy with an actual navy plane for a change.
.
I dont recall the navy having a big penor for the corsair because of how hard it was to fly onto a carrier....not really until the british come up with the earliest form of IFLOLS thats gyro stabilized late in the war.

Well, today would have been the patch "day" of the week, but the last few months it had been the first and last friday of the month; next one being DCS update and the followup being a campaign fix update. Dont expect it tomorrow, but be happy if it releases tomorrow. I know I will...I hate flying the Corsair in MSFS.

In the release photos, I see a Marine paint scheme (checker) and a Diamond tail marking, which I think is USS Independence. Can someone in the know tell us if we are going to get the Bunker Hill paint scheme (Arrow)?
oh Im pretty sure that it will be included, considering that theres already tons of conformed skins already lined up for it. and if not, plenty of artists out there that will likely get to it pretty soon afterwards.

Build a FF module has your problems, remember Octopus-G delayed the La-7 but need redome and remade part of your module to polish them.
The Marianas WW2 map has nothing to do with the M3 F-4U and M3 PTO assets pack, on fact, I think ED has waiting to release Marianas WW2 (free), with the ED PTO assets pack. The shame situation with the F6F, ED can release them as a alone module with any map or assets pack.
why did G delay his model? wasnt it to be released this year?

well, at least the news came this year....

Is this going to be the next helicopter in the line that DCS is going to announce at some point soon?
soon? was announced almost a decade ago, still got a ways to go. I assume that there will be another helicopter coming before this one, once upon a time Belsimtek announced an AH-1G/S/W that got ghosted after the F-5E was released. There IS another helicopter coming out soon.

Im pretty sure the Mig29 was never "the main fighter"...but to say that its not an 80s aircraft is wrong. Just because it wasnt front line anywhere doesnt mean it wont work because it obviously will. Aint nothing in DCS thats time frame relevant.

So no the MiG29 would not be extremely common for most of the 80s.
one of my first models ever built as a kid was a mig-29, not long after Top Gun was released. not ironically, was the same exact mig we're waiting on now, so to say that it wasnt relevant in the 80s at all is kind of...irrelevant, so to speak.

he's not wrong...this whole "own nothing and be happy" approach most game devs are taking now should be put back in their place. Shouldnt have to be online just to enjoy something I paid good money to play (and yes that includes ED).

I don‘t really understand what you mean. You mean that parts of the modelled systems are copied from the F-35?
no its because ED chose to do an F35 module and its feared a lot of stuff is going to be guesstimated rather than accurate.

Idk if styrofoam is enough.
There isn't much room, the "neck" part of the grip is really narrow. I wish they had at least partly used metal.
Seems I need to open the grips to see how it looks inside. I was just wondering if anybody had already tried that.
click bond is actually a really hard substance that hardens within like 5 minutes. Its fairly durable as you can take a hammer to it and itll barely scratch. probably a little bit on the expensive side though...

I hear ya...Seems tho they have them produced on order demand, pretty crappy way of doing business..I have the Warthog for at least 5 years, and if and when it fails I would replace it with another Warthog Hotas...(and no waiting )...
nothing wrong with that. Ive had my warthog since 2011 and still going strong. Had to replace a few buttons here and there, and its now a VKB adapted warthog stick, but still kicking.

Ok I got you...and now that you say something, that seems like a great idea because Ive never noticed that bend before. It does seem kind of flimsy...
there are plenty of ways to make it less flimsy, and the only ones I can think of involve styrofoam or other kind of filler material like click-bond.

Has anyone found a way to make the grip sturdier? I'm thinking about reinforcing the grip somehow so it doesn't bed anymore, maybe by screwing/glueing metal parts on the inside, especially at the "neck" where the lower and upper grip meet. This seems like the most bendy part. I haven't opened the grip yet, so I don't know if this is feasible. Has anyone had a look at the insides?
Using the lower grip is ok, but using the upper grip has some bend which makes fine adjustments harder. I find myself using mostly the lower grip for flying, which is good, but you do need to operate the cursor/FCR from time to time.
what do you mean, the collective dropping down over an extended period of time? because the newer ones come with a counterbalance spring that you can put tension on to prevent that. As for the forward grip being a little long in length, the only other option is to scootch the whole thing back a few inches.

auto coordinated turns? as in I wouldnt need to use rudder pedals to keep the tail in the proper position?? AND IVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG ALL THIS TIME???

Guys i think finally i found the issue...
Whenever i start DCS with TrackIR running, it freezes but without TrackIR software running it all just works
This happened to me when I updated TrackIR software.I reverted back to an older version and keep it that way today. Using 5.4.2.27545.

you should be throttled to the speed you want and leave the throttle alone....and even then, is it even recommended to do so? no, your throttle should at least match the speed; once you hit your approx speed, you touch ATC and leave the throttle alone. cutting the throttle disconnects ATC.

took what...15+ years for the OH58 to be released? you're surprised that its taking so long to figure other things out after the fact? This is what DCS is; its a waiting game/simulator, not a simulator. get used to it.

Ive noticed that the last update gave everyone problems with some mods installed. If I were OP, Id remove those found in the saved games/mods/tech folder and see if anything changes....

jst in case, the helmet designator is only designed to get you close to the target area before you SOI to the FLIR. If you try to fine tune it while the HMD is SOI, you're going to be in a fast slew mode and its ultra sensitive.

its not just a hose nose, its basically driving this car from the back seat and trying to parallel park the first time. Come to think of it, probably easier to do that in the car considering the car wont spin you over if you overthrottle.
