  1. Good for you. Meanwhile scammers still prevalent on Newegg here in the states. Just....stop. B&H Photo is one of the best places to buy now, if not Microcenter...if you happen to have a microcenter nearby. If you DO happen to shop Newegg, absolutely 100% verify that its shipped By Newegg and not 3rd party. When you get it, inspect it and verify the serial numbers match the box. Take it out of the package and ensure its not a used item. Quality has taken a nose dive since Newegg was sold off a few years ago.
  2. yeah but they could have been...it takes a while to build one of these monsters. Honestly takes more time to design these for games than it does to literally build them IRL.
  3. I wouldnt bet on a super hornet anyways. Thats a whole lot of work for something you -for the most part- already have in the F-18 module we currently have.
  4. Ive played on many a server with them installed, never had an issue before.
  5. Should switch from RWS or TWS to STT when you designate (hard lock) the target. That implies you select the target with your cursor twice to get a hard lock (or should automatically switch to STT when you select left on the weapon select switch on the stick). Regardless, theres only two modes you can launch the AIM-7 and outside those parameters you get dumb missiles 100% of the time. If I had my pick, Id use FLOOD mode when you have a defending target WVR. Also, STT launch two missiles at the same target - one straight, the other in LOFT to bracket the bandit. If you are using STT and keep losing the lock, then that means the bandit is dropping the lock. Cant tell without a track in this instance, but Ive never had issues with the AIM-7...other than its basically worthless compared to the AIM-120C.
  6. You shouldnt be in TWS launching AIM-7s as this mode is for AMRAAMs only. Only way you're launching is in SST or FLOOD.
  7. How dare you say that. M3 was once upon a time a part of HeatBlur, so M3 has some street cred around there here parts.
  8. started releasing training videos, betting now they release it 1Q 2023.
  9. Last time ED went down the road of informing everyone where they were in development went poorly. Cant satisfy the forum whores here, so why bother. Lot of ppl here know how to ruin it for everyone else and so thats why we dont get them anymore. Be thankful you get what you get.
  10. yeah that mig needs to happen. so does an F-18A, F-16A and possibly an F-15A as well to go up against it. Not in my lifetime though...
  11. there WAS going to be a Mig-29 9-12...
  12. a lot of modules need updating...a LOT of modules. also a lot of AI units.
  13. Ive been flying the Milviz F4U around for a few months. Kinda interested in seeing how it stacks up with theirs, but reality I NEED M3 to finish theirs. MeneedsmeCorsairfix.
  14. The drag on the SH is far greater than the legacy...those pylons cant outboard and its not without reason, but guaranteed its one of the reasons why its not very efficient. They dont always fly with all the pylons loaded though, but it definitely is a draggy little bitch. Next big thing Boeing has when the Hornet is finished is going to be the MQ-25 and T-7 programs. Im currently working on the #2 drone. Last week we put skin on the static aircraft for the first time.
  15. the training missions were reworked in DCS...the videos shouldnt be necessary anymore.
  16. can you post a screen shot of how accurate it is in vr after you do that? I can practically guarantee you its off.
  17. Not really. Sure they carry the same wing, but theres a lot of internal plumbing that need to go or get installed. The wings for instance - you have to remove the hydraulic lines and install a wiring harness in the outboard wing to support the jammer equipment, but AFAIK theres no conversion for it. Its either going to be one or the other unless those stations are going to sacrifice the wingtip pylon or jammer, or M61 or avionics system installed in the nose. I know this because I spent a number of months building wings for them in wing laydown. Matter of fact, I think the last few Growlers built the navy didnt even want or buy and from what Ive heard its just a Boeing asset now. Not sure what they do with it, but I caught a glimpse of the last one built in the line maintenance bay a few weeks ago alongside a few super hornets that went past their trap limit that were getting refurbished to 10k hours.
  18. Thats what I was getting at - every flight control surface acts as a dedicated braking surface. Germany pulled out of the F/A-18 order last I heard. No new customers on the line until (and if) India purchases it...and thats going to be highly unlikely at the moment. The only customer at the moment is the Navy with the Blk 3, and the last unit looks like it will be delivered in 2025 unless new customers are picked up. Not even a Growler has been built in the last 3 years, and there are airframes getting mothballed before they meet their 8000 flight hours. The program is on its last legs unfortunately.
  19. Also goes to mention that the air brakes on the SH are far different than on the legacy models. You dont have a pop out speed board on the spine, you have multiple boards popping out on the LERX, plus all that wind is funneled directly into the rudders...and the rudders deflect inboard. Pretty much the same operation you would see on the legacy, but you only see that when the flaps are down. IIRC -everything- is used to slow the SH down when you deploy the spoilers: rudder, spoilers, flaps, L/E flaps, ailerons...flight dynamics may be similar, cockpit may be familiar, but everything gets changed. The latest Blk 3 has an all glass cockpit and an AESA radar....which requires a secret security clearance to even sneeze on it in final assembly and Im not that popular yet. There arent any new orders after 2025, so the line might get shut down soon afterwards, so maybe wishes might happen? Itll just be a while.
  20. From what I understand, the E model performs just as well as the C model in terms of flight envelope; its still a dogfighting monster as it holds higher alpha than the legacy can. Point is that even though its different, its not much different...although the SF has a higher drag index.
  21. the exhaust plume behind it makes it easy to track. An increase in thermal temps on the wings isnt going to make it stand out any more than it already does, especially when its not even really measurable. DCS doesnt do ECM environments very well ATM. No growlers, no prowlers, no spark vaarks, no B-52 with jammers installed...but there is a mod that allows you to skin your hornet like an E/F/G. Doesnt really do anything other than change the look.
  22. Its not classified info; its common knowledge. Weapons made in the USA that are exported are often dumbed down for allies intentionally due to laws prohibiting sales of advanced technologies. The M-1 Abrams is a good example: many countries operate it, but how many of them have Chobham armor? Chobham armored tanks dont quite get destroyed like those M1's youve seen get toasted by ISIS during that war. Also goes along that they keep options open for maintenance requirements as well as the buyers putting their own stuff on the aircraft in lieu of just to save money. FYI - the F-15EX being built right now is a derivative of a Saudi Arabia updated F-15 with FBW instead of the old analog stuff. The Quatar birds are sexy. Recently heard Boeing wanted to sell a single seater again, but they opted to keep the rear seat installed to work with the wingman drone program, so the guy in back will have his own plane to fly so to speak.
