Do you still have your input folders with both the new and the old diff files? I'm asking because I don't have access to my computer today, and off you zip those down and send me I could make an easy step by step guide for everyone, (and do yours for you making it of course emoji6.png).

edit: now that I think of it, I clear rows of devices when I load up my old stuff, so not really sure...

  2. how do you use that thing?

What I do, I make one single change for each peripheral in one single module to get a new ID. And use PowerRenamer and replace the old ID with the new one. PowerRenamer is a free tool in Power Tools from SysInternals (Microsoft).
    Cheers!

  3. Looking for anyone who happens to have a similar setup. I have a 100mm extension running to my rhino and Id like to know some settings - both internal and external- to get the best out of the joystick. I have a LOT of throw even with a 100mm extension and I can barely get the Viper to pull 7g's in a turn because I just run out of room to pull. In the special options, what are good values to put in place? Also would like to know what kind of force settings I would need to get the least amount of deflection while still being finely controlled.

Now that's interesting. I've never come across anyone who has successfully repositioned their kneeboard without breaking IC. This feature has been asked for too many times to count, so I assume KB still does those edits in the core. Are you saying KB actually saves the changes in Saved Games? Which non one else has gotten to work?
    Cheers!

if you use it just to 'build' a Kneeboard, then yes, you are 100% correct. Thats why I stated in my message that my assumption is that this is due to the custom positioning via profiles in Kneeboard builder which is not a feature everyone uses. You know what feature I'm referring to?

Yes I do, and its position in the viewport handling lua was literally designed to be repositioned and resized via lua script. The simple editing of this shouldnt be enough to kick the IC warning off as it sits in the saved games folder. Specifically its line 33 if you use notepad++.

Great software! being using it since last year, really good! I just noticed that I get a Pure Client Script IC check error when using some servers. I assume this is due to the Kneeboard custom positioning. I ask because I was under the impression (I read somewhere) that Kneeboard Builder passed IC checks. is it me doing something wrong or its just a limitation?

    thanks!

the kneeboard builder absolutely should pass the IC check because its just a kneeboard. You can click on the red shield on the MP server and it will give you the list of faulty files, so you might want to triple check.

  7. And I never got that message, even though I tried hitting the space bar a few times to try to trigger something. I didnt get anything, so I just took off and completed the mission. Only after I landed did everything catch up, but thats only because I saw the F10 menu and decided to give that a shot. Its been over a week since I finished the campaign, so the finer details are out of mind now, but again I just never got a message to do anything. Just had the convo with the gunner and thats it.

If you want, I can replay the mission today and post the track..I dont mind.

Having looked at mission 12, the prompt is to select SPACEBAR when ready to lift, so there is no F10 menu. I have increased the time the prompt message is displayed, so there's no confusion as to what needs to be pressed one ready.

As for UGLY5-2 not spawning, the trigger for that fires off both player altitude AND the take off comm having happened

    Hope this helps

Im not saying the F10 menu wasnt there, Im saying there was nothing telling me to press F10 to get clearance.

    Hello together.

Ive flow the Apache now for around 120 hours, so im not really new anymore. But since a few days (maybe since update?) i often have issues selecting the TADS after a while in flight. I just cant see the reason.
Sadly i dont have a track because the last few times it happened in Mission editor Prepare Mission. but ive got it in the War for Palmyra Campaign too.

I only a have a pic availabe. We can ask different:
In which situation i would be prevented from choosing TADS (either by key bind or by the clickspot on the Stick).

In this mission it worked fine until i had gunner selected for a few shots. Then i switched back to Pilot and found that im stuck to the FCR, no matter what. Well, i can use Up/P-HMD, Left/FCR and Down/Link. But Right/TADS does nothing.
In Pilot seat that is, like mentioned.

Any help would be nice, thanks 🙂 Maybe i just forgot something over night, or im doing something different than usually, its not impossible ^^.

That CRKT confuses me a bit. I have the feeling it has to do with that and im locked out bec gunner is using it?
But how can i get out of that mode again? If that is the issue.

are you using the collective switch or the TADS switch? The gunner only has the ability to use  the TADS, so you know. It also says CRKT FXD because thats the acquisition source its on at the moment. It should be on HMD or FXD.

The back seat (pilot) cannot use or control the TADS. Only the front seat can. The switch for TADS in the back seat is there so that the helicopter manufacturer can use the same part for both cockpits, but the pilot's TADS switch is not connected to anything.

it actually does work, it just displays the TADS on the MFD so he can see where the target is and have eyes on the target as well so he can help launch on it. He doesnt have control of it. Can also use it for night navigation.

Have you tried the "Sync with HOTAS at mission start" setting in the general settings?

Yes, and Im not referring to that. When the aircraft is air start, its at a specific velocity and trim level. If its a helicopter, you arent going to set the collective or cyclic correctly and you will fly erratically until you stabilize it. Sync with controls works after the fact and to YOUR controls; I am referring to syncing your controls to the AIRCRAFT before you take control. If ED plans to incorporate a save function for missions and campaigns, its likely they will be a lot of air starts, and correctly set controls would be necessary.

  11. Im trying the start training mission and working myself through it for the first time. For the life of me, I cant get this thing to start, even following the instructions. Can someone point out to me what Im doing wrong here? Also theres a bug in the script that doesnt read the canopy being closed unless I lock it first and THEN click the canopy to go down. Unlocking it and then locking it pushes the script forward.

We are already way off topic, so I'll just chime in with this: the USA have just become a textbook case of what can happen if a government simply disregards privacy laws and grabs private data. The damage is done, and the flimsy protection that "US laws" afforded their citizens evaporated over night. Here in Switzerland, the reaction is swift and decisive: new policies in most privacy-sensitive industries (read: banks, payment processors, etc.) now implement kill-switches for private data should something similar happen here. Privacy is very important in a world where we increasingly meet, work and purchase virtually, and identity theft is but one of the challenges. Win 11 is intrusive, and - worse - made by a company that resides in a country that many no longer regard as a judicative safe nor reliable haven. I fully understand when people are concerned. How they react is their own choice, ignoring the risk is certainly one way. There are others.

What this has to do with DCS is a mystery to me, so I just contributed to the problem without helping, I know 🙂

The topic is to move to a different operating system thats less intrusive.  Why certain people cant figure out why people like their privacy is beyond me, its not like its up to them to figure out whats right for other people; some people just need to mind their own business which really bothers me as to the why he wont let it go. The answer isnt " give up on your computer and phone", the answer is "no more". Just because he's ok with it doesnt mean we all have to be ok with it. Its not like its the next step in moving towards a social credit score in a single world government....wait...it is?! Gee, wonder why people ARE so frustrated. Some people...just dont get it.
