  1. I mean is it though? When I tried updating from OpenXR to OpenComposite, 1/4 of the time it actually worked for me, and even then the performance to frustration ratio was enormously skewed to the frustration side. Couldnt really tell much of a difference between the two when it actually did work.
  2. Well sometimes if it works, dont mess with it. Youll have just as much benefit using the earlier version than you would actually updating AFAIK unless if you run some sort of enhancement tools? Not 100% sure...
  3. you cant run 2 commands on the same button as they always conflict. the only way you can do that is by using a modifier or a switch. I get what you are trying to do, but you cant. Unless you are using a rotary that is an axis, you cant use a button to do more than one action. As far as an axis goes, you CAN map key strokes to a rotary with whatever software you use like Virpils or VKBs software setup. You can map a button stroke at 20%, 30%, 50%, 100%, etc - as many as you want and still retain the axis, but you cant use it to map more than one function to a button. However...you CAN make a macro. Not sure what joystick you are using that has encoders (my MongoosT50 has 3 of them) but there are apps like RS Mapper that can make macros...Im finding out that its fairly labor intensive though. Easiest way to make a macro is through voice attack. The one and only drawback with a macro is that it absolutely has to have a keyboard command mapped to the commands you want to map. If there isnt one, you will have to fabricate one and hope it doesnt conflict with another key command in use.
  4. Ive not used easy comms in a bit, but fairly certain they would. Dont feel too bad about the \ trick, I found out about it the hard way doing the UH-1H Argo campaign where the only way I could get comms to work is using the radio PTT instead.
  5. Find another button for the modifier, thats all you really need. Doesnt have to be a bunch of modifiers, you only need one. Lets say you have 3 encoders: sacrifice one button and youll have 17 buttons.
  6. you can use in the modifiers tab to make a modifier or a switch that you can press to switch to an extra function. An encoder has 3 buttons - left, right and press. You can make the press a modifier, and use left and right, then map the modifier to the left and right as well (or as a switch) and you will get 2 additional key binds. To map them, map the initial left and right buttons, then tap the modifier and map the left and right buttons to different functions.
  7. You sure the \ command has been changed? Works on the ground...in the air, not so much.
  8. the inside dimension is 6 1/4", should fit. Youll have to scale the image a tad bit.
  9. A few things Ive been observing as of late with the AI pilots: They fly 100' NOE 100% of the time instead of straight and level. Flying formation with AI is impossible as they always have to jump 100' higher to clear obstacles in front of them, even if they arent in any danger of hitting them. For some strange reason, with the aforementioned issue the AI sometimes will hover behind a hill and THEN climb and return to forward flight instead of just flying a baro altitude. Most of the time, the wingmen in the same helicopter group lag far behind the leader. Insert random helicopter maneuver that doesnt make any sense In the attached TACVIEW document, scroll to around the 37 minute mark while observing Springfield 1-1. Ive flown this mission multiple times in multiple aircraft in the same scenario; Springfield 1-1 just does this every single time. Now some of these AI quirks have been around since day 1, but some of these have started recently as well. Are we ever going to get an AI smart enough to fly a simple straight line in a helicopter? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QEeU1dsqnegIbUkwIx4bW_E9-apr0HZ_/view?usp=sharing

  10. You can use your WEP at high altitudes so long as MAP doesnt exceed 62". Ive used it plenty of times over 25k' without so much as an overheat issue. Not recommending it, but the limitation being that a time limit is imposed on your engine when you exceed 62".
  11. I wouldnt expect full support for multicrew heli modules anyways since those are multi choice kinda options. Hopefully we'll hear from him soon...the vaicom discord has always been quiet.
  12. there was an update for the apache just recently, so he seems to be working on it.
  13. Question - I got -for the most part - the missions ready for the campaign file. Turning them into a .cmp file is aggravating me to death and putting them in no order...even though Im trying to put them in order. So how do I do that? I got stage 1, add a mission (in this case Stage 1 is Mission one, then Stage 2 is Mission 2 and so forth) and when I play the campaign the second mission is first. What am I doing wrong here? And even then, the other missions arent showing up after completing the first. edit nvm...think I got it.
  14. You're able to use a mouse in that menu? Ive always had to use key commands. Are you saying you cant use the mouse to click ANYTHING in DCS?
  15. Well it might not be; Boeing and Lockheed do different things with their software.
  16. Gotcha, that was what I was referring to, forgot about the -65.
  17. Nobody mentioned anything about whacky control issues with the cyclic, but yeah I recall that thread and couldnt find my issue mentioned.
  18. I recall this being a thing in the -16 with the Litening pod, but is it something we also do in the Hornet? And if so, with both pods or just one or the other?
  19. Starting the aircraft normal going through the voiceovers, when the aircraft is fully started and you can exit the mission, I tried to fly around as a test flight to see if my keybinds work. The cyclic wouldnt work as it should; matter of fact, adding power pushed the aircraft backwards. The disk animation shows the cyclic actually functioning, the cyclic animation shows its functioning properly, but the physical action as a whole gives you zero control with the cyclic. I tested the mission twice. I tested 2 separate missions in between these two tests to show my cyclic works correctly, and both times in this training mission I had no cyclic authority. Is that by design? Here are 4 tacview files that show my issue. TRNG 01 is the faulty missions. The first one I managed to get cyclic authority, but barely, and only after spinning out of control on lifting. Only happens training mission 1. 20. Trying to map a few items that arent mapped to a keyboard in DCS, for example: Ralt + Home = starts engines...but lets say igniters are mappable in DCS by pressing a button to assign, but no keyboard shortcut exists.
  21. Honestly, not sure if it will help you...not that I am positive it will, just that Im not really sure about your headset. Primarily used for bypassing steam vr if you use a windows mixed reality based device. If it uses WMR, then yeah itll help. Give it some research, heres the thread.
  22. I meant your computer specs. All FPSVR tells me is that your pc isnt optimized. What hardware do you have? I wrote this back in February and my problem has pretty much been solved. I dont recall what the fix was, but that was around the time I went to OpenXR and havent worried about performance since.
  23. I was able to keep OpenOVR up and running since this whole thing started -and still works. Ask and I shall post the files for install.
