  1. Hey Sledge, better (very) late than never, i guess: The default delay (and key pulse duration) can be adjusted with the following function call: SetKBRate(25, 33); // PULSE is 25 ms, D() is 33 ms See T.A.R.G.E.T Script Editor Basics User Manual v1.5 – 23/60
  2. Did you explicitly add your DCS path to the VAICOM config? This is what fixed it for me, i did not test with other modules, so i can not say if it did work in the last configuration or not. About the F12 Key not function - is it not working at all ever, or is it explicitly not functioning within DCS, also does it work with DCS when you are not using VA, are you using other Keyboard emulation software that might interfere? For example have you maybe mapped F12 to one of your joystick toggles so that is just pressed constantly?
  3. That was a really good tip, @Lt_Jaeger!! It did not recognize the F-14, which is really strange, since vaicom did still turn the communications menu on and off! Going from the tip i managed to fix the situation by: setting the DCS custom path shutting DCS and VA down starting VA again (made sure to run as admin) starting DCS launching a Mission with the F-14 After this the config window does now correctly display the F-14 and accepts AIRIO commands. Also notice while testing i sometimes did not have DCS running at all, since i figured airio commands would be sent anyway. This is not the case! @Hollywood_315: Maybe include this in the log message or in the manual, airio can not be tested without DCS with F-14 running. Also quite strange is that vaicom obivously found the proper installation path since it was able to generate an export.lua, but did not properly hook into DCS to recognize the F-14. Maybe i stumbled over a bug? @skunk160: does this help you fix your problem, too? Feel free to pm me, if you need further explenation; maybe we can set up a discord session with screenshare, if thats helpful? @hreich: maybe this is the solution to your problem, too? Thanks everyone for the help, @Lt_Jaeger thanks a lot, buddy!
  4. Hey, thanks for the help and the suggestions, sadly i still have no luck. Also i wonder, the line „11:00:37.639 Captured sentence: rock and roll“ means, that Vaicom understood me, basically and refuses to execute the command, does it not? It seems to me, while Vaicom recognises my license, but somehow does not act on it. @Hollywood_315: i also mailed you (?) on the e-mail provided in Vaicom - is my (and @skunk160 ) license somehow broken maybe? Can i get further log output as to why my Vaicom reports „AIRIO commands are not available“?
  5. Hi, i'm having the same problem. It used to work, then it completly stopped to work. Now i tried to reinstall everything, meaning va, and vaicom pro and the airio extension. I deleted the export lua and repaired dcs. Still i get this in my log: 11:00:37.646 (awaiting additional input) 11:00:37.644 AIRIO commands are not available. 11:00:37.641 Have result, identified as command: Rock and Roll 11:00:37.639 Captured sentence: rock and roll 11:00:37.623 Recognized : 'rock and roll' 11:00:37.198 Listening suspended 11:00:37.130 Joystick : 'Transmit TX5 release' 11:00:36.179 Listening resumed 11:00:35.823 Joystick : 'Transmit TX5 press' 11:00:34.049 Plugin 'VAICOM PRO 2.5' initialized. 11:00:34.036 Ready for commands. 11:00:34.035 Startup finished. 11:00:34.015 Listening suspended 11:00:33.883 No new DCS modules to import. 11:00:33.881 Success. 11:00:33.881 Building master labels table... 11:00:33.880 Success. 11:00:33.862 Building kneeboard tables... 11:00:33.859 Success. 11:00:33.851 Building master keywords table... 11:00:33.842 Adding 0 imported menu commands. 11:00:33.840 Adding 0 imported ATC aliases. 11:00:33.826 Done. 11:00:33.826 Updating aliases.. 11:00:33.824 Success. 11:00:33.823 Loading F10 menu items... 11:00:33.822 Success. 11:00:33.807 Writing updates. 11:00:33.662 Loading keywords database... 11:00:33.628 Done. 11:00:33.544 Initializing database tables... 11:00:33.542 Done. 11:00:33.542 Importing RIO extension pack... 11:00:33.433 Checking VA profile. 11:00:33.425 DCS World version STEAM not found. 11:00:33.424 DCS World version 2.5 OpenBeta not found. 11:00:33.417 6/7 DCS-side files were updated. 11:00:33.415 Reset: gameMessages.lua 11:00:33.415 Reset: TabSheetBar.lua 11:00:33.414 Reset: common.lua 11:00:33.413 Reset: speech.lua 11:00:33.412 Reset: RadioCommandDialogsPanel.lua 11:00:33.411 Reset: VAICOMPRO.export.lua 11:00:33.410 Unchanged: Export.lua 11:00:33.410 Saved Games folder = C:\Users\Madog\Saved Games\DCS 11:00:33.407 Install path = C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics 11:00:33.407 Using Registry entry for 2.5 11:00:33.406 DCS World installation found: version 2.5 11:00:33.394 Executing automatic lua code installation. 11:00:33.155 License: PRO 11:00:33.154 Plugin version 2.5.25.3 (release) 11:00:32.605 Initializing.. 11:00:32.605 Press LCtrl+LAlt+C for config. 11:00:32.605 VAICOM PRO for DCS World. I pretty much purchased va and vaicom pro only to use it with jester, and i still cant use this software Also, maybe related, my radio menu in game periodically opens and closes when va with vaicom is running, just like described here: @Hollywood_315: Is there something else i can do, or can i somehow help to diagnose this error? I would really like to get it working again.
  6. Hey, in mission 3 the hinds are set to fly lower than ground level. So they constantly go into ground avoidance mode, and break hard. Setting thier altitude to about 1000 ft higher fixes this.
  7. Hey, i used my 1.58 install to upgrade to 2.5. Now all my campaignprogress is lost. All logbook entries are still there, though. Anyone having the same issue? Is there a known remedy? Madog
  8. Hey, i think the thick lined writing and symbology in the mdfs are an error in the brightbetss of the lines. You can test this out by toggeling the mfds to nightt mode, the writing becomes finer. Not really good, but better. Also the same effect can be observed in the huf, using the brightness switch you can get better readable, finer lining. Another clue is the HUD writing against a backdrop of heated exhauatgasses. There is an effect that makes stuff behind the exhaust plumes blurry. In 2.5 the effect also extends to objects in front the the exhaust like the HUD writing or cockpitparts like the HUD frame. I think bloom effects are applied to elements where they should not be Applied, resulting in incorrectly blurred elements or overy bloomed writing. Basically the lines and charactes are just to bright and in effect are bloomed out to simulate beeing blinded by the brightness.

    Fly by yourself

Hey Frederf and Vincent90, thanks for the clarification.

    Fly by yourself

Hey, this is a genuine question: i do not get what you mean, i am realtivly new to the MiG-21bis, i can not find a thing wrong with it. Could you elaborate which systems are broken and how they are broken?
  11. Hey everyone, it has nothing to do with stuff that might be announced, but i would like to know why there are really well made regular updates on the forums and next to no news on the the homepage (http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com). Has someone a clue about why ED rather informs on forum posts? I'm asking, cause i can not see a reason for using the rather bad forum format for news while the homepage looks like the game is relativly dead (which it obviously isnt)
  12. Hey, just wanted to say: This is just great! Its a great improvement for the FLIR, the NOE flying looks great and the additional scenic little streams and valleys are perfect. Thanks so much, finally back to the Evil Within!
  13. Hey, just a quick tip : the sensitivity of the trim correlate to the length of the button presses. I overcame the problem by reducing the length of a single keydown-keyup event in my joystick programming software (TARGET). This way i am able to perfectly trim the plan for a specific aituation.
  14. Hey, good news, i was planning on playing this campaign once 1.5 would have been released. I'm glad i can repay you now for your effort. Now lets just hope mbot does an update on his initally released campaings and rereleases them also .)
  15. Hey, i usually don't post about stuff in these pre-release videos, but i got to tell you: THIS IS AMAZING. What i especially like in no particular order: The slight haze that lays over the land. It conveys a great sense of depth! The overall texture color, it just seems to have a great contrast balance, looking very life like. The new smoke effects! The treeshadows, they also help ALOT when judgeing hight. TWO SEATER, IN MULTIPLAYER, WITH NEW UI! Of course im extremly excited about the advances with the F/A-18, but i fear it will take more than a year still, untill its released. Not from this newsletter but still: One .exe \o/ I wonder alot about that remark on the improved AI - i'm really curios about that one. Well....erm.. thats it. Keep up the good work. Madog
  16. Hey, not really funny but interesting non the less: http://imgur.com/gallery/oSe9h
  17. Hey, this thing is great! Thank you very much! Madog
  18. Hey, yes, EMC does work with the 64bit install, at least for me it does. You do not need to install EMC to the gamedirectory at all. Here is my setup: EMC installed to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Easy Monitor Configurator". Game is installed to "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World". Regpath for A-10C is "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C"
  19. Hey, i think i can spot a space where there should be none in your first screenshot. Is it "Programm Files (x86) \"? It should be "Programm Files (x86)\". Also i wonder, are you sure the game is installed to "Programm Files (x86)" at all? mine is installed to "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics", withou the (x86). Hope it helps.
  20. Hey, i just figured part of the riddle out i think: in the init.lua file of the indicator definition of the kneeboard (DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\KNEEBOARD\indicator\init.lua) the line 116 (update_screenspace_diplacement(SelfWidth/SelfHeight,is_left) governs how the kneeboard is placed. I have not yet understood how the function update_screenspace_diplacement actually sets the drawpoints, but you can manipulate the input values, the first one can be used to move the kneeboard up and down, the second one is a boolean, meaning true or false. True means the kneeboard is drawn on the left border of the screen, false means on the right border. hope that helps
  21. Also, remember, that while this game is actually pretty good at system simulation, it does not simulate the pilots experiance. There are no errors, no checklist items your crew chief might have missed, no proper preflight. There is absolutely no incentive to play this game like a us air force pilot might fly his or her plane other than your personal standard. Most missions are designed really unrealistic from the load-out to the rules which are set by the designer. So, in reply to your inital question: This game can be used to simulate a somewhat pilot like experiance, but it usually is everything but.
  22. Yea, well, then go ahead an ask the people you backed, and not a totaly different company.
  23. Hey, yes i think its the other components that can be managed with TARGET. For example, this is what i get when i run a script: [...] Currently plugged USB HID devices[4]: 1: "Joystick - HOTAS Warthog" - "USB\VID_044F&PID_0402&REV_0100" 2: "Throttle - HOTAS Warthog" - "USB\VID_044F&PID_0404&REV_0100" 3: "F16 MFD 1" - "USB\VID_044F&PID_B351&REV_0100" 4: "F16 MFD 2" - "USB\VID_044F&PID_B352&REV_0100" [...] Note, the USB Ids for the MFDs are the same as in your error message. I think what TARGET is trying to tell you, is that you do not have the MFDs and supposetly the cougar connected.
  24. Useless fun-fact of the day, i would rather play this than most other non-modern addons announced. Especially if it was to include a decent multi-crew ai.
