  1. I wouldn't call the game unplayable in my experience. I dont have a top end system (i7-6700k and 2080) it runs just fine. Getting at least 40FPS with the Rift S. Might have to tweak your settings if its dipping below the ASW threshold.

The strangest VR bugs are the left eye/right eye differences on clouds and certain lights.

  2. I guess I'm just not as interested in clinical procedure videos, as there will be plenty of time to read the manual and figure stuff out. I just like the videos for entertainment value. A welcome break from guys pretending to be virtual flight instructors/fighter aces.

  3. Been hearing that Cap didn’t receive the Early Preview Access. If this is true, it’s a shame. Guy makes entertaining videos with about 40k subscribers. His hornet videos were some of the best ones.

Anyways, it’s not like the tomcat needs help selling, just unfortunate.

  4. Firstly think of am access violation with an analogy

The keeper of stores, Stores Sargent has a store room of items much as a function/program has a portion of memory to store information to access any of the items in the stores you need to do so via the Stores Sargent the same is true for accessing memory belonging to a function/program you need to do so using the correct procedure, not only can you not have access to item x the attempt is reported.

As always if you use the correct protocol it's fine if not it's an access violation. :)

What this means is within the program there is some code that is attempting access something it has no privilege to it may be a error in the code or something altered by mods which seems probable as 2.5.4 caused some mods to not work at all or at best flaky.

    Weapons.dll

    AsyncNet.dll

    DCS.exe

There is also a lot of missing stuff are you running any mods?

No mods. At one point i had installed the Skyhawk mod, but I deleted it because it wasnt compatible with online servers. Did that a couple weeks ago.

  5. Er - I don't think we've said anything like that?

The mirrors should be available in the next patch.

Did they make it in? I know its not imperative for flying, just makes the module look half finished.

  6. EXACTLY.

A real simmer spends most of the time in the cockpit,

and not admiring the nice clouds and terrain....

You guys are missing the point. The module has been outpaced by DCS updates. I was just asking if anyone had user mods to fix it while we wait for the patch.

  7. When playing online on the caucuses, ram usuage jumps to 12-13gbs. After playing for about an hour I get an access violation crash. Does not happen with NTTR or single player caucuses. Does anyone else have this issue?

    I7 6700k gtx 1070 and 16gb ram.

  8. The part of the supply and logistics being discussed was purely aviation. I think you'll find that aspect is supplied by the Navy. I was also just pointing out why the marines and navy are closely associated historically. All accurate as far as I am concerned.

I never called you out specifically, so don’t feel like my initial post was directed to you. The supply post I was referencing stated the Marines do not possess their own acquisition or logistic support, which they most certainly do, even on the air side. I was not an aviation supply Marine, but the job does exist, maybe someone with more experience could clear things up. They have entire support squadrons dedicated to aviation supply and logistics (MALS).

    Edit:

Just to clarify, I’m just stating there is some misinformation/misconceptions in this thread. Obviously the USMC operates under and with the Navy, that’s the reason why there is no Secretary of the Marine Corps.

  9. Care to elaborate Gunny?

There is plenty on here, Marines don't get their paycheck from the Navy, they get it from DFAS, Marines have their own supply and logistic elements (CLB's, MALS, LOGCOM, etc.), the history you can read for yourself. There is no Marine medical fields, that is correct that the Navy handles all of that (corpsmen, doctors, dentist, etc.)

Maybe some of this is applicable to Royal Marines or some other country, but not the USMC.
