  1. I remember years ago hearing about this problem, and I thought it was solved. However I can find no evidence of this searching through google. But I did find the Grim Reapers video were people mentioned this in the comments. From commenter "Eddie Crouch": FYI Cap you should consider retesting this with the AAA guns placed as groups of no more than 4 in the mission editor. AAA guns in DCS work in such a way that only 4 light/ medium guns or 6 heavy guns in a group may engage targets at a time. If you watch the video many guns are just sitting there doing nothing while the planes fly over.
  2. Check if image scaling is on in nvidia control panel.
  3. No strange settings in nvidia control panel? Either global or DCS specific.
  4. It looks to me like some sort of image sharpening is being applied as soon as you click. Did you clean out the /user/saved games/DCS folder during your reinstall?
  5. Do you have an uncropped image of your mission editor? Nothing silly like having the historical filter on with a strange mission date?
  6. You sure nothing else happened to this computer? Electronics in the fan will fail in one of two ways: open circuit or short circuit. If open circuit, the result will be if you unplugged the fan. Should not result in the board dying. Short circuit, I can see whatever MOSFET driving the fan circuit dying, but these usually fail in an open circuit fashion. The rare chance it failed into a short circuit could take out other circuits. Any way to tell if the PSU was dumping straight into Over Current Protection? He cleaned out what he spilled inside it?
  7. Does your laptop crash in other games? How are your temperature? Do you have GeForce Experience installed?
  8. I find this very strange. My experience with computers crashing is they either lock up and you need to cycle power, or they reboot themself. Could it be a USB power delivery issue? Any chance DCS is pulling so much power the PSU flips out the power or sleep button was pressed?
  9. Perhaps Windows decided it was time to install an update?

    DCS size !

Maybe recheck your numbers. My Mig-21 liveries folder (dcs word/coremods/aircraft/MiG-21bis/Liveries/MiG-21bis) is 3.75GB for 75 files. Anyway, I just bought a new 1TB SSD for DCS World also.
  11. As far as I can tell it is just Unicode. I get this information from Character Map, which should be a default program in Windows.
  12. Alt 0176 for degree symbol.
  13. I use rudder often in Mig-21. They are used for differential braking on the ground to turn. Used in high AoA situations to roll the aircraft as ailerons loose effectiveness. Also used to make slight heading corrections, as rudder input will cause the craft to roll. Used in coordinated turns to, well, turn better. Especially at low speed, i.e. during landing approach.
  14. If I remember correctly, the radar is stabilized to the horizon in both pitch and roll up to a limit, I think 25°.
  15. Does the X56 use potentiometers for the axis? Maybe one came loose on the inside? I have an older model, the X36, and I've had to hot glue the pots back into position at least twice.
  16. Same here. Clicking the number of a page, or the first/last page takes me to the top of a page. But next/prev scrolls to the top, loads the new page, then dumps me at the bottom.
  17. Yes. Check out this old thread here:
  18. I think this is the web forum you are looking for: http://stereo2go.com/forums/
  19. Connect the positive terminal of the new battery to the positive terminal of the existing battery. Negative terminal to negative terminal. Where you mount the battery and how you route the cables is up to you.
  20. Is this in DCS only or are other programs affected?
  21. Did you try the old "restart the computer" trick?
  22. Here's some I've played that weren't on your list. Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe Flight Unlimited Fighter Wing LHX Attack Chopper Megafortress Silent Thunder
  23. The illumination rockets work pretty well. Shoot from 2 or 3 kilometers out, aim up 20 or 30 degrees.
  24. Here's a track and tacview. I flew a profile similar to the one Freddo described. Take off, accelerate to about 850kmh TAS, climb at 850 TAS until 10km altitude, accelerate to mach 1.2, climb at mach 1.2 to 15km, accel to mach 2, climb to 18km. Flaming out while turning around is optional. Tacview-20211109-152246-DCS-Flight Test.zip.acmi Test flight.trk
  25. Why? Also, do note that the second AB only works under 4000 meters altitude. You need more airspeed, not flaps.
