I've had DCS since 2016 & purchased many of the modules but I've felt for ages that 've never utilized the full game, i just faff about mainly. Main reason is that performances wasn't great in VR. So now for the first time I'm really starting to get into DCS properly because since the MT update performance is really great & i can play at 80FPS. This is only going to improve & all of a sudden I've started to invest way more time in this game & very motivated to learn. Only really the clouds aliasing bothers me. Just thought i would share some positive feedback.

After later update for some reason it showed it wants to install Normandy 2 map was pretty sure i already had it i bought it on release? Trust me It matters else i wouldn't need to upgrade. So you are running DCS at what FPS in VR during missions? 3ms CPU frame-time sounds impressive & I'm almost sold on getting one but if its 3ms @ 40fps over the sea not so much.

I think that's the general consensus, i guess the problem for me is they are not so good for a DAW. With the 79503d it splits the CPU cores, so half a for gaming & half for productivity. Not sure how well that actually works in reality though. I'm tempted to wait for the next gen of intel & see what they do.

Trying to decide between i9 13900k & 9 7950x3d or 7800x3d. I would be upgrading from a 5800x What complicates things is I use my PC as a DAW so having more & fast cores is a necessity. I have a 4090 RTX card. IL2 is another game limited by CPU but I'm not sure any of these cpu's would help it. I also play FS2020 but due to its poor framerate not that much. I suspect even these new processors are the limiting factor in these games rather than the 4090, any VR users on here have these CPU's?

The default is wrong. You can move the position of the pilot with one of the camera positions in vr although i have to reset it every mission. This also means you can cheat by sliding the camera across to the middle. I actually prefer to lean over.

Love it in vr also, its such a great machine. wish i could fix the pilot seating position as always starts me too high in seat.

Yes the white knighting of DCS in the bugs & problems thread is tedious. If you are happy with the product then go & play with it.

Yes I spotted banding in the sea & stripes in the clouds, the stipes are somewhat geometric & nothing like cloud structure. These are more minor glitches though IMO.

Yes its all very blurry & low resolution in vr, the lighting & shadows is much better on the ground but looking at the clouds its like I'm partially sighted. I'm wondering if there is some sharpening issues as well as it can look very blocky when the cloud interacts with the ground.
