  1. Ok, I'm not quite sure this is the correct place to post / ask this, but here goes. I'm an ultra wide user. And I love it. But I have one problem, (actually a few but I'm not sure if the one is related to DCS or not, I'll ask at the end about that). So one advantage of the ultra wide is an increased FOV. More immersive and so on. But in DCS for some reason, instead of increasing the FOV, with the extra width the game seems to just stretch the side of the image. So if I slightly look to the sides, and catch my weapons in the sides of the screen, they're stretched length wise. It's like it's zoomed in. This is also seen on things like con trails and sorts that would be out of viewable range. If something is in front of me, and I know it, but can't see it, I'll put it in the corners so it's zoomed in and I can see it. It created a popping in and out effect on some stuff. Is there any fix to this, so I have a proper FOV that's not distorted? The other bug I have, I think it's a bug maybe.... Is when I'm flying at certain times and the lighting is in a certain place, the screen, and sometimes just the sky box goes black / flashes. It's like it can't display the image. Now I tried to record this, and if I do, the video file playback displays the image properly. So it flashes on my screen but not in the video. I was wondering if my monitor is having problems displaying some images with certain characteristics, but I don't know. Any thought on both of these would be awesome! Thanks
  2. Tried to update today. Got an error at the end containing Cant delete F:DCS world\Mods/aircraft/l-39C/Bin/L39C_protect.dll: (5) Access is denied. Tried a repair, and tried again with no luck. Any ideas? log file attached Got it fixed - restarted and deleted the l-39, reinstalled it and then updated. You can delete the thread.
  3. Greetings! I was having some computer trouble, and in the troubleshooting process, I reset windows / reinstalled. I did backup my controls before hand, but it seems that the controls aren't binding to what I had, they're defaulted. My guess is because the device ID's changed or something and DCS doesn't see them as the same controllers. Is there any way to get the controls back? I don't really want to have to remap everything...
  4. Ok, so I play online in the DDCS server or Blueflag. And my huge gripe that I have is that in GCI, I cannot see how many missiles are left in a unit. So we don't know if they need resupply or not. All I ask for, is that if I click a unit, where it gives me the unit info at the bottom, there be a section where it tells how the unit has x/x ammo remaining. Would make everyones lives soooo much better. ty.
  5. Tried updating to windows 10 in an effort to stop the crashing. No joy.
  6. the last log was Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected. After looking, I don't think that has anything to do with it. I found this one: Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power Date: 18/02/2018 4:51:58 PM Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63) Level: Critical Keywords: (2) User: SYSTEM Computer: *** Description: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. 7. Tried a clean install, success for 1 day and then it's hitting with the crashes again. Not sure how I can supply more info.
  8. After playing on the weekend, and being somewhat stable, it started crashing and shutting down my system again last night. It obviously did not fix the problem.
  9. So I MAY have fixed this. I deleted everything in my user\saved games\dcs.openbeta\ folder except for my inputs. Things seem to be working now. So my guess is when DCS created the files it screwed up some how. Forcing it to re-create the files might be the thing to do if you have this problem. I'll keep you posted if it crashes again.
  10. Is there a public bug tracker that I can see the status of bugs? I tried a few different servers, same problem with the crashing. Would just like to know ED are actually looking at the problem...
  11. Another crash. I'm done trying for tonight. But I'll be sure to post all my logs over the weekend. The game is literally unplayable, I'm just trying to give you as much info as possible. dcs.rar
  12. And another crash. Log file attached dcs.rar
  13. This is still acting up on me. latest log dcs.rar
  14. Hey, so I got it working. I tried repairing and had no success. So I ended up moving my mods folder. As soon as I did that they all showed up on the main screen again. Obviously with nothing installed though. I downloaded the smallest mod I could again to remake the folders and then I moved everything back. I downloaded Normandy again to recreate the terrains folder, and when I moved everything back, I noted that the first file it tried to overwrite was a different size. I kept the newly downloaded content and everything seems to be ok so far. If things go south I'll be sure to notify you here.
