  2. I don't think the developers are looking at this topic, but maybe someday it will come in handy. A few bugs that I didn't find mention of...

    1) The engines are not working, but the sound of turbines can be heard behind the aircraft

    MiG_19_eng_Sound_before_Start.trk

    2) If the speed is > than Mach 1, the sound of the engines in the cockpit is still audible. By the way, on the exterior views, it disappears as it should

    MiG_19_cockpit_Sound_with_1.05 Mach.trk

    3) At a speed of more than 800 - 900 km / h, you can tear off the aileron during the roll. In the manual there was a mention of problems for the ailerons. But I did not find any mention of the danger of aileron separation. Is this a bug or a feature?

    MiG_19_aileron_broken_ with_high_Speed.trk

    4) Mapping for keys is not possible for the "Elevator Actuator Switch Hydraulic / Electric"

    image.png

    5) When switching the three-position light switch (landing light - off - taxi light), we do not get the landing light but always get only the taxi light. In addition, the taxi light is almost invisible in the cockpit, literally you can't see the road

    Screen_230729_172940.png

Where is the light? Here it is

    6)

     Screen_230801_001650.png

Elevator Control Mode switch is inverted, so if you switch to "manual" it'll be "auto" and of course if you switch to "auto" it'll be "manual"

    7) Another bug. In the Russian cockpit, it is not possible to read the text on the indicator lights for flaps, air brakes, oil pressure and others. Everything is fine in the English one.

  3. Мало того, что МТ у меня почти после ряда обнов почти перестал давать преимущество в ФПС и неслабо тормозил, так после этой обновы вообще миссия зависла на загрузке. На сингле все норм

  4. I don't think R3 will make the gameplay more interesting. After all, we already have a MiG 19 with K 13. The conditions for using K 13 in dogfight are so limited that I would prefer not to take K 13, but to have a more agile plane. By the way, I can't find a single truly dedicated mission for the MiG 19 on the DCS servers. There are many identical Cold War servers where there are MiG 19 and MiG 21 or more often MiG 19, MiG 21 and MiG 29. That is, the MiG 19 in the role of an outdated aircraft. I'm afraid the MiG 17 will suffer the same fate, and MiG17 will simply compete with the MiG 21 in missions designed for the MiG 21 and F5 (and the phantom in the near future)

Sorry, I don't know if there's a solution for placing ARK stations on the Sinai map. But be assured that compass and stopwatch navigation has nothing to do with piston aircraft. It still was the main navigation type in that "golden MiG era", and would be used in all weather conditions and in night time.  Radio navigation systems like ARK and RSBN have always been a navigation aid, but never a standalone navigation type. I personally only use ARK stations for bad weather landings and checking the aircraft's position by cross bearing, and that's what the ancestors did. The term "all-weather interceptor" rather implies the presence of a radar system than the use of radio navigation.

I cannot agree with you on this. All-weather ability are provided by the entire complex of radar and navigation equipment. And on the jets of VVS of that time, near / far  beacon was constantly used in USSR. IDK how it was in Korea

As for the radar...AFAIK In the USSR, the idea of radio guidance from ground-based air defense points was actively promoted. The plane's radar was just an addition

By using a map, a compass and a stopwatch, and - if you're really serious about it - doing wind calculation before 🙃

Yes, we are all used to such navigation with piston aircraft. But I think Egyptian and Arab MiGs in general used more modern radio navigation. The fact is that the MiG 19 is an all-weather interceptor, which means the use of radio navigation, among other things. It is also important for night flights.. I don't know, maybe it can install some kind of mobile radio station on a map with kilohertz waves?

  7. This plane still has some flaws, but damn the MiG 19 and the new Sinai map are my best purchases in DCS! I really enjoy the MiG 19, even though it's slower than the MiG 21, I think I'm still getting more fun. RAZBAM may not have been able to do everything that was intended, but thanks anyway to the RAZBAM! This is a very important plane for those who fly wiht red planes. But who knows how to navigate this plane on the Sinai map??? I have no idea how i can use this radio station on which there are only kHz waves.

  8. nullFirst of all, I want to say a big thank you to the development team for this great map! I got a great framerate, I definitely liked the colors of the textures of earth and water, it all looks very natural IMHO. Indeed, I would like to have an option for the 60s, but these are just dreams, the map is really really great!

Comparing Google maps and the Sinai map, I found that the government octagon looks much more impressive IRL. I wonder if this area will get changes in the future?

This is a random find and I'm not sure it's important

I also have a question. Is it possible to increase the detail of the area near the airfields?

At a high altitude above the airfield, you can definitely see good detail.

    Roud4.png

But at a low altitude, right above the airfield during landings and takeoffs, you see a very monotonous terrain around you for a while.

    Roud5.png

I'd say I'm a little bored without dirt roads around the airfield.

    Roud3.png

This is not a problem, but you always want more immersion 😁

  9. I can't figure out if this is a bug or if this is how it was intended anyway it seems wrong.
That's what I see flying over the water in the DCS. There is always a very dark circle under me, except for the reflection from the sun. As far as I understand, this happens where the water becomes transparent due to a change in the direction of viewimage.png

Although I expect a more uniform color of the water, even on a cloudy day. Something like this

    nullimage.png

You can really observe something similar in IRL, but not so much!

Here is a very good demonstration of what I wrote about. In DCS, when you can lift your nose, you take off almost immediately. If you can't take off, you can't hold your nose properly. In the second case, you are getting a permanent wobbling. As if the speed is not enough, even though you already have 260 - 280 km/h. But the video clearly shows that the IRL can first lift its nose, continue to roll and take off when you have got enough speed for this

  11. I did not write that the Yak-9U is a post-war aircraft. I just showed the general features of the Yak 9U and post-war Yaks. In addition, the Yak-9U made in 1944, the engine quickly overheated. This problem of the M-107A engine was actually solved only in the last months of the war

P.S. Although I am a fan of the Yak's line, in fact I think it's just a miracle and incredibly great luck that we will have La-7

  12. I don't understand why everyone wants post-war Yaks so much. After the war, the need to participate in the hardest dogfights disappeared. It would be unfair to use post-war Yaks against Focke Wulfs and and against 109 or P-51 D_30. Try to compare the post-war Yak with post-war aircraft, for example, Bearcat  2b4dee144ce606bec66f73781a4e71bd.jpeg  and Spits  Spitfire_PR_Mk_XIX.jpg . It must be admitted that the planes were weighted down so that they could shoot down bombers effectively. The weight of the Yak-9 has increased, due to changes to increase flight endurance. New more efficient radio stations were installed. But in the simulator, you won't feel much benefit from it. On the contrary, the Yak 3 was maximally lightened in order to get the best turn and climb characteristics. In addition, the front armored glass was removed on the Yak-3. Therefore, the Yak-3 has better visibility ahead  Yak_3Sh.jpg  , unlike the Yak-9   Як_9.Sh.png or Spitfire     .

By the way, on Yak_9U  Y9u.jpg  and the post-war Yak-9, they began to use the upper air intake  Y_9N.jpg    again, which is located in front of the cockpit and can cover an enemy fighter when you shoot. And look at   Y_3_N.jpg    Yak-3.  This will be much more effective in the simulator than hundreds of small improvements in the Yak 9, which cannot be felt in the simulator. These post-ww2 war  planes were just waiting for replacement after the war, after 45, it was already clear to everyone that this was an outdated type for military aviation. For this time I think there is  MiG 15 and Sabre

  13. I think that unfortunately it is not possible to have as many maps as there were interesting battles. But it would be useful to have an option to disable all buildings on the map or trees. Then it would be possible to use modern maps for any historical time. For example, we now have maps that could help to (alternatively) recreate the events in the fjords of Norway, the events around the Northern Convoys (PQ-17?), the battles of the aviation of the Northern Fleet of the USSR. Maps of Sinai and Syria could also be interesting? Perhaps using part of the Normandy map, you can imagine an air battle in Spain

But in general, this is not possible now. I would be very happy to just have a server for the USSR vs Germany on the map of the Caucasus (maybe on the map of Normandy instead of Kuban or Eastern Europe). But now there is nothing like that at all. Although there will be La-7 and there is already  I-16 (this is already a lot by the standards of the DCS of the world). In addition, there are Thunderbolts with official skins of the USSR (thunderbolts were used by the Northern Fleet of the USSR in reality). There is even a mosquito with official skins of the USSR, to some extent they could replace the Pe-2 or Tu-2... By the way, there are also spitfires with official skins of the USSR, which of course will not replace Yak_9 or Yak_1, but can diversify the plain set

P.S. Even for operation overlord there is no suitable historical set, so there is no point in giving up an interesting confrontation simply because "there is no suitable set or map"

Sorry, my error. it just seems odd to have a module that doesn't fit any map or maybe the Caucuses map may apply. It's an orphan like the other Soviet a/c (I16). Fiction is ok but an appropriate module e.g., Hawker Typhoon a significant a/c in Normandy would be super and historically correct.
