  1. MSI Afterburner was the culprit, stopped it and Simple Radio fired up no problem. Weird cause I had definitely been using Afterburner and SRS at the same time previously, not sure why it stopped working all of a sudden (don't think AB is auto-updating). Thanks everyone for your suggestions, and thanks Ciribob for your awesome program and excellent tech support!
  2. Thanks. I have deleted the original folder and tried to run the installer.exe from the downloaded zip file, but same with the main .exe, the installer window doesn't actually open (just thinks for a minute and then stops). I've tried disabling windows defender and also adding the simple radio folder to it's whitelist, to no effect. I've tried the manual install but that didnt allow the simple radio.exe to run.
  3. Hello, I'm having an issue with SRS that just started recently. I was using SRS as late as last week, but now when I run the .exe windows has the thinking icon for a few seconds and then nothing. If I have task manager open I can see that the SR-ClientRadio.exe opens and then closes (no SRS window pops up though). I've reinstalled the latest release and made sure I have the proper .Net installed as well. Any thoughts on what I could try next?
  4. Thanks for the response acdelta57. You're right I do need to figure out better tactics, but I think kreisch and I are in agreement that the AI difficulty isn't really realistic, and in my opinion isn't as fun as it could be. I mean, the actual tactic that heli pilots to stay alive is to stay low behind cover and do pop-up attacks, but its not really feasible here. I think it would be more fun to bump down the AI skill a notch and maybe add a few more (though that has lag implications) Anyways, I'll give you guys a shout if I see you on and you can show me your Huey secrets!
  5. Hello, First off, props to Mirknir on the great server! Much appreciated, and the below is just a small issue I've been having. I have a question about the AI skill level - it seems to me that the ground units are just too good. In the Huey, KA-50, or A-10 my friends and I have noticed that we are nearly instantly killed by light arms fire from ground units. Last night in the Huey I was killed by an AK wielding infantry through the trees as soon as I peeked a hill. I'm thinking this might be because the unit skill is set to excellent - giving them super detection abilities and perfect aim, so they are instantly headshotting my pilot from 2nm. It just seems like no matter what we do we are instantly killed by gunfire - to the point that I'm now more afraid of a BMP with a light machine gun than a SAM launcher (at least I can see the missiles coming and act accordingly)! Is anyone else having issues with the ground units, or am I just a bad player? Bonus question: is there a set of frequencies I should be tuning into on Simple Radio? I've never heard anyone talking on the default 252.00 UHF. Thanks!
  6. Hello, I'm looking for the frequencies that are to be used in Simple Radio for each side, but haven't been able to find them so far. Does anyone have them?
  7. Hey just started playing around with this script. What a great addition! One question I had is would it be possible for it to provide a dismount to any Unit with a name, for example, "Transport #xxx" where it ignores the digits after the #? That way you could specify that all units called Transport #001, Transport #002, etc. would have a dismount without having to manually script one to each transport. Might not be in the cards to add that; regardless, great work!
  8. Hi Hollywood, The VAC Static ATC Mod fix worked so that seems to be back in operation. I just noticed something that I think may be a bug. In the F-15 when I am flying with wingmen, I noticed that Flight - 'close formation' was just opening the formation menu. I found that the Comms menu tree the keypresses would be F1 "Flight" > F9 "Go Formation" > F8 "Close Formation". When I look at the VAICOM VA code it appears that it is inputting F1 > F9 > F5. I'm not sure if it is a bug, or perhaps something in the Static ATC mod is changing the order of the Flight commands.
  9. Thanks Hollywood. I'll try to search before asking next time.... duh
  10. I am having an issue with the required dependency "VAC Static ATC Menu" mod. When I enable it through JSGME I am no longer able to open the comms menu manually (with backslash) and VoiceAttack/VAICOM seems to work for some things, but not the ATC controls (which makes sense if the mod is not working). I was reading the forum post for the VAC Static ATC Menu mod (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138994) and it seems like it no longer works with the current version of DCS. Can anyone confirm if this is the case (not working anymore), if there is a workaround, or if it works fine and I possibly didn't install something correctly? EDIT: I just searched through the thread and found that someone had made an edit to the Static ATC mod. Should have checked first before posting I guess... If anyone is having the same problem and hasn't searched the thread, check the below post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2986946&postcount=499
