  1. Lucid do you also use trackir? 8-9 feet away? and what controllers do you use? saitek? couger? my saiteks can barely reach where i sit from my tv and i sit about maybe 4 feet away. i ask because i have trouble settings up freetrack right and was thinking maybe trackir got better distance? but of course it could just be my shoddy craftmanship on freetrack and the angle of the IR reciever.
  2. I did misunderstand sorry for any hard feelings buddy. I dont like this whole thing about limited activations with the DVD copy, as i will most likely want to install it on the many computers that i have, but then again i dont know for sure if there will be such limitations for the western release and i doubt no one will until ED makes their minds up which really makes my post a little pointless other than it being used as feedback for ED. But i guess that in an effort to support ED and relieve myself of the hassel i could buy a copy for each computer but i hope ED dosent count on it always.
  3. You sure as hell can (at least in my opinion) but some users are acting as if it were already stated by ED, although now with the recent post of evilbivol it has been confirmed.
  4. Where is everyone getting the whole "limited installs on the cd" from? because i havent seen ED say that. :disgust:
  5. What's the big advantage of the ps3 eyecam? just the 120 fps? but do a few more frames really matter?
  6. Yes but what about the ps3 eyecam? which is better? i'd like to know before deciding. but glad to hear the Wii mote out performs webcams.
  7. I also sandpapered my LEDs and placed them directly on a cap with a power supply that uses two double a batteries and a switch, all wires are hidden very nicely with only diodes showing in very similar places as those suggested by freetrack (much like the caps the guy at freetrack forum makes and sells). Even with sandpapered / polished diodes i found the negative photo film better than the floppy disk solution, in fact my glasses and the cap i used for tests, which was white, reflected lots of light that got through the floppy disk. all this was fixed with the photo film and switching to a black cap. i'm interested though, in the Wii mote / ps3 eyecam alternatives.
  8. My computer has been on 24/7 since the day i got it and it still runs nicely, i use my computer for everything, from programing and studying to playing games and other various forms of entertainment and i also download and upload alot, not to mention i overclock.
  9. Actually with the specific webcam i used that didint work to well it was to dark and couldnt see the infrared LEDs. that could of been due to the fact that i didint wire them well or something but i doubt it. with three small snipets of negative photo film i had to spare from some old photos i was able to use the cam alot better, farther distance and better tracking. I'd also like to add that it works very well on a Q6600 cpu (intel Quad core 2.4ghz) and i did not see much difference on my pentium4 2.8ghz cpu either.
  10. I bought the "Quick cam orbit / sphere mp" cost a little over 100$ but i didint really have to modify any of the hardware just change some settings (brightness, saturation, etc...) that and place some negative photo film over the lens (3 dark layers to be exact) so i thought it was very economical considering how just by removing the negative photo film it could be used as a webcam (and a rather good one at that!)
  11. What kind of hardware changes require you to reformat so much? i havent had to reformat my computer for years now. And by the way, i'm also getting very tired of people trying to "help" or tell ED what to do over and over again, the same thing, and it's not even my product or anything so imagine how they must feel. (although of course i cant speak for ED in any case, this is just my speculation)
  12. I'm confident freetrack will find a way to work with the new interface BS uses. That's just my opinion though.
  13. It really amazes me that some people cant understand how and why a company dose things. How can they be so angry at ED for such silly things? I havent had any complaints towards ED about anything so far and i am pleased at how open they are and i hope that this event dose not further discourage them in any way, especially with future releases.
  14. Great to hear it's almost done and i dont have any problems with starforce, my lomac/FC discs work great, no problems here. some of you guys are blowing the whole thing out of proportion it's probably going to be the same as the copy protection for LOMAC/FC.
  15. I think DCS team is doing a great thing by being so open even though they're being pretty much harassed by impatient people who they owe nothing to. i joined up to say my appreciation and to protest against these people, and to hope to encourage DCS to continue to strive for such quality and detail in their future releases. i hope they take all the time they need before releasing black shark and pay no mind to these people. I will be ready to buy and support DCS when black shark is released.
