  1. It's a process that takes a long time, but once you do it the way you like it, it's better that way. Using anothers profile is harder than growing into your own and you will likely not deviate too far from what they do anyway. A-10C with x52 was what I used for years and its easier and safer to scrap the saitek software and ignore the non functioning things, concentrating on using the pinky switch as a modifier set in DCS to allow you to double the Hat's and approximate the Warthog switchology. Rather than bind mindlessly, get the picture of the warthog hotas from the DCS A10 manual and copy the switches by name and learn them as everyone will call it by name eg TMS up long and Boat switch aft. It's important to retain the butotns ont eh right stick or throttle as much as possible as its designed with a left hand right hand flow in mind to reduce workflow. You will likely have to sacrifice one hat from the stick to the throttle as a button shortage exists. After years and haivng bought a WH recently, I can not use it as my hands remember the x52 so fondly.

    Great advice and much appreciated.

    Thanks mate

  2.

I have had a look and tried a few, but after memorising the profile from Jack Bauer I was hoping to use an updated version so I don't have to learn from scratch.

  3. Like a few people, I'm having problems activating my MiG21 serial key.

I'm still receiving the error message after using the registry fix file.

"Unable to run the application due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Re-enter a valid Activation Key or re-activate the application..."

I've sent several emails and personal messages on this forum and have received no reply. This is getting tiresome.

  4. hmmm... right now i'm thinking about searching for torrents and reporting them...

usually i think it's the developers / publishers problem, and they should care about stuff like that by themselfes. and usually, some (especially big) publishers almost ask for it, because they sell unfinished products for "public betatesting", don't support the community and very often the product is (imho) not WORTH the full price.

but in this case, i really can NOT understand how people can spread that software in unofficial ways! we ask for a hardcore-SIM, and the market for these is small. We all know, that IF we want to get some more sims in the future, the companies producing them have to EARN MONEY - noone is producing them only for fun.

And then, i always see people complaining that there are no innovations out there, too many small developers had to close the gates or had to sell themselfes to the "big" ones, and they don't support risky innovations - they produce the same games, year by year, only the numbers change (and some grafics), like fifa05/06/07/08 etc.

And then, the very same people complaining about these facts and telling storys why they pirate software, and why they would buy it when there only would be something worth to buy etc., start pirating a INNOVATIVE product, a HARDCORE-SIM for a small market, and a SMALL INDEPENDENT DEVELOPER A N D PUBLISHER.

so, all in all, i really don't get it how stupid people can be! and it REALLY pisses me off. and i really think about doing some research and screw them...

    Go get em Tiger!!! GRRRR....

  5. You could take it one step further with multiplayer. Have a wing pair go out and ID targets for a strike package. Send info to strike package, strike package launch and take out the designated target by the recon team.

Recon multiplayer missions could be a LOT of fun. It's always great to have specific individual mission objectives...really promotes teamwork.

    Really looking forward to that!

  6. I'm well aware of the 1st post.

Point is it states ON or soon after....so not suprising some have hoped for the ON bit being the case.

Most telling part of the last sentence is the words "guess" and "assume"

Sort of makes my original point for me really.

Please rest assured, this is NOT a rant.

I have been a flight simmer for many, many years...from the times of the very first original Falcon release on the Atari ST! computers.

    (who remembers digital intergration sims?)

I really do appreciate the developers who invest time and risk in producing "our" passion software.

Just very dissapointed that someone offical couldnt find the 2 mins to let everyone know the definative position.

Surely they must know there are many, many here waiting to part with their cash.

Considering how many peeps in the "West" have said they would purchase the Russian version, I too am suprised that no official word on when they plan to release the downloaded version.

    Would it be that hard?

  7. You wouldn't go and see a movie in a foreign language just because it came out 3 months sooner, would you? Nope, as you'd not understand a thing and it would spoil the movie for you. It will be the same with this sim - you will be too frustrated to appreciate it properly. Just wait a little bit longer and it'll be all the more sweeter ;)

A movie no...I would wait...however, just say you met a beautiful lady who wanted to bonk your brains out, but didn't speak English, would you wait 3 months for her to learn English? :smilewink:

Just joking ofcourse... I see your point.

  8. I'll buy the Russian, If they will put the english manual on the DVD. Having everything in Russian on the cockpit is more realistic anyway.

What might put me off in that regard is this is mission briefings, campaigns, tools ( FMB? ) ect ect will all be in Russian. The cockpit part will be the easy bit ( English manuals and Vids ). Everything else will be the challenge.
