Not on my computer there ain't! Something's not right.:helpsmilie:

Ok I must be missing something or something is screwed in my system. I do not see any other versions other than the original one in the list of aircraft available for instant missions or training missions. I do not see anywhere else there could be any other versions listed. Also, for some reason I can not install user mission for the Gazelle. I have installed user missions for practically all of the other modules but when I use the same procedure for the Gazelle, no missions appear. Any advice on either of these two issues would be greatly appreciated!

How do you access the minigun version of the Gazelle? Or even the rocket/cannon or air-to-air version? I have 2.0 and 2.5.1 and can't figure it out.
-
I'm also not able to get the 2.5.1 update The OP referred to the 2.5.1 update, not the 2.5 one. I also have not seen how to update from 2.5 to 2.5.1. I thought that my DCS World installation would have done so automatically as of yet it has not.

Anybody here have any interest in the biggest US WW2 fighter, the P61 Nightfighter? I wouldn't mind flying a DCS version of that beast if they can model the radar.

Ok. Maybe its just my imagination or computer ignorance. I got the Normandy map as soon as it was available. Up until yesterday I had three 19" Samsung computer monitors in a triple setup in which the computer was treating all three as one monitor. The monitors are somewhat old and each have a recommended resolution of 1280 x1024 which is what I set each of them. I could completely max the video settings (everything at its fullest maximum past the standard high setting) for the Caucasus and Nevada maps and get a great frame rate with no stutters. I could not do that with the Normandy Map. If I just ran a simple WWII dogfight on the Normandy map with just 4 planes in the air on the preset high settings alone the frame rate was dismal. Yesterday, I bought and installed three new 32" Samsung tvs to use as monitors. Each have a recommended resolution of 1920x1028 which I set and again have the computer treating them as one monitor. Given the size of the monitors and the higher resolution, I kinda expected a fps hit on all the maps. To my great surprise, I find that I can completely max out the video on ALL the maps including the Normandy one! Being a computer dunce, it appears to me tha,t if anything, the video card (a gtx 1060) would have to work harder on the much larger monitors and give a slower frame rate. But either I am wrong or the MUCH ANTICIPATED Normandy optimization has recently take place. Any one have any thoughts on this? I'm certainly am not complaining. The 32" monitors are absolutely gorgeous and to me give a much better visual experience then even the current VR units (which I have tried) because of their greatly restricted field of view and inability to see the keyboard.

This subject may have already been discussed to death and if so, I apologize. I just got NTTR after saying to myself for a long time, why would I want such a map? I decided to try it and boy am I really glad I got it. Its stunningly beautiful in my opinion and just flying around sightseeing is a real thrill. I was flying around Los Vegas last night in a Huey and wondering what DCS'ers who live in the Los Vegas area think about it? Do any DCS LV residents see their actual homes or places of employment in the map? Just curious.

OVERLORD - The ultimate Normandy SP Missions
MADLOU1 replied to Reflected's topic in User Created Missions General
I downloaded all the missions and played the first mission for each plane. GREAT JOB! The period radio broadcasts are a real treat! I would call these mini-campaigns rather than single missions which makes them even better. My only suggestion is perhaps toning down the fighter contrails somewhat. They look a little overdone in my opinion. The B17 contrails look very good and proper. I had to tone down my graphics settings to keep a decent frame rate (I only have a relatively weak GTX 1050 card) which I think was due to the all the contrails along with the thick clouds. I love flying through your thick clouds! I always wondered why DCS rarely models thick clouds you can fly through like Cliffs of Dover. I thought it was it was just not possible until I saw your beautiful work. Cant wait to see your future updates to these excellent missions. -
Im trying to figure out just how to properly utilize the EZ 42 gunsight range control. The DCS manual states that after adjusting for wingspan you "set the range to target via twist grip on the throttle." Then you "fly the aircraft so that the target appears within the reticle circle and rotate the throttle twist grip until the diameter of the reticle circle corresponds to the target size." The DCS training video directs you to set wingspan and when you see a target, adjust the range until the wingtips fill the reticle circle (similar to above) and fire. Chuck's FW 190 guide states, however, GUNSIGHT 1.Turn ON your gunsight Gyro Switch(UP) 2.Set Gunsight Wingspan to 11.2 (typical Spitfire and Mustang wingspan) 3.Set Gunsight Rangeto 600m (optimal range for horizontal gun convergence) 4.When the wing of the target fits in your gunsight, you are now in the range set in step 4 To me, Chuck's method makes more sense and its the same procedure as the P51. You set the range for optimal gun convergence BEFORE spotting a target. The DCS method seems to direct that the range be set before BUT THEN AGAIN AFTER spotting the target by adjusting the range to fit the target. So If the target is 600 meters away and the sight was not pre-adjusted for that range, you adjust it for that, if it is 800 meters away and the sight was not pre-adjusted for that, you adjust it for that distance, etc. To me, this seems to indicate that adjusting the range to fit the target (which may vary highly) also adjusts the gun's convergence at the same time. That does not seem likely at all. At any rate, can anyone tell me which method really works, if either? If the DCS method works, how could that be? Thanks!

Im SOOOOOOOO happy to hear about the P51 campaign being in development. Cant't wait! The Spit is nice but I am a P51 NUT!
-
I know this might be a silly question....but can we use the mission editor to substitute a P51D for the Spitfire in this campaign? Im not that fond of the Spitfire but crazy about the P51. :pilotfly: Thanks!
-
I also would love to see the P38 as well as the P47 and Me 262. I am currently busy flying those planes in the old Il2-Sturmovik 1946 game. Those versions, of course, are nowhere as realistic as the DCS planes, but given that's all there is right now, that is what I have to go with.

Create Fast Mission Now Supported in Normandy?
MADLOU1 replied to MADLOU1's topic in DCS: Normandy 1944
Oh ok. Thanks. -
DCS just announced "We have added Create Fast Mission support to the Normandy map." When I attempt to create a fast mission, I keep getting the message in the right box that no mission was generated. Is fast mission support really implemented now? If so, how do we create a fast mission in Normandy? Thanks!

I just got the Normandy map and WW2 Asset Pack. I see on the internet where many people are flying non-WWII planes on the map. I do not see how that is done. I have loaded other planes and helicopters via the Module Manager but when I click on Instant Missions, Missions, or Campaigns, nothing happens? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I pre-purchased the Normandy Map and Assets bundle. Today, I was able to download DCS World 2.1 but neither the map nor assets appear in Module Manager or anywhere else. Submitted two tickets. One for Map and the other for Assets. The Assets ticket was closed for no reason and no comment. On the other I was told there was no record of me purchasing it. I submitted my receipt and they (Matt Wagner) sent me a message saying, "Andrey, please assist." What is going on with this craziness?:( Has anyone else not been able to get the Normandy map and/ Assets?
