  1. I feel so stupid even suggesting this because the sim is so perfect. But in training missions I often want to slightly increase the speed to something like 1.5x or 1.7x not straight from 1x to 2x because the speech goes all high pitch and squeeky. Thoughts?
  2. I just bought DCS Hornet with the Supercarrier in the sales and I'm just getting to it now. tl;dr version at end of post. What am I missing? The in game tutorials are enough to get you "sort of" going with some of the systems but severely lacking any depth at all in comparison, for instance, to the A-10C in game tutorials. There's plenty of very basic systems that aren't even touched in the in-game tutorials (ground radar, TGP, mavericks..etc). There's a series of "qualifier" missions that come stock with the module but they just seem like a cocktail of different training missions with no specific order, are those supposed to be the training? I've found some really great videos on YouTube (Mainly Wags' videos, RedKite's tutorial series and 104th_Maverick's videos) which are really helpful, but again they're not really structured in a "zero to hero" method firstly, and secondly they're made with what seems to be a very early access version of the hornet and do not feature many things that have since been added. Obviously there's the manual (and Chuck's Guide), both of which are great of course, but has no one really at all made at least a forum post or document with bullet points on how to get "good" with the hornet? Am I missing something, or has everyone just read the manual and built their own training missions? (nothing wrong with that, just want to know) tl;dr What is the best way to train from "zero to able to complete a single player campaign"? I noticed there are some "qualifier" missions that come stock with the module, is there a certain order they're best completed? They're currently in alphabetical order.
  3. Hey BD, I'm loving your A-10C Iron Flag campaign and will definitely be buying your Hornet version.
  4. +1 from me. I just bought PG in the sales and was completely shocked that there isn't at least an airfield at Al-Udeid. I'm still gonna enjoy the map however I think it's a brilliant addition and I'm looking forward to playing the campaigns I bought there. I don't really understand the complexity of how these things work, but to the layman like myself, I just feel that even simply adding an airstrip there with some basic hangars would do for some great missions immersion. But I suppose you can air-start a KC-135 and "say" it took off from Al-Udeid.
  5. So here's a question. What do you think the name (and type) of the next naval electronic warfare aircraft will be? So we know there was the E/A-6 Prowler, then the E/F-18 Growler. So I suppose it would make sense to be an E/F-35.. Howler? Scowler? What are your thoughts? :) Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the reply guys. Somehow I agree with both of you lol. I'm no newbie to dcs (started with Flanker 2.5 now we here) but I haven't had the time to properly play for about 10 years now. I'm actually removing mould off my HOTAS hahah. I didn't like GR videos all together when I first came across them because of all the mistakes I could spot and all the cringe hahah. But for entertainment (which is what they're aiming for I think) they're not too bad actually. I used to be able to read the manuals and watch some videos then fly but now I can only give the sim a few hours on the weekend at best, so it's much more difficult to learn the proper way. I see what you mean about the F-16, to think I was torn between the hornet and the viper and chose viper.. might see if they'll give me my money back for the hornet tbh. Cheers for the reply guys :)
  7. Hi everyone, I've just bought the F-16C, and I learn best from the in-game interactive training missions, but for some reason the missions that I have are only 2 to 6 and 11 to 19. What about all the missions Wags has on his Youtube channel? is there anywhere to download those? Is this normal or is there something wrong with my install? I can't find any other interactive training missions anywhere else so in the mean time I'm using Wags' online Youtube tutorials. Cheers
  8. Hi all, I'm not sure if this is already a thing with DCS becoming kind of open source. I'd really like to see the ability to edit the terrain in DCS maps in the mission editor. Nothing drastic but adding small hills for SAMs and little lakes or bridges or roads... etc. Just wanted to know how everyone feels about this or if anyone else feels the same way. :)
