  1. I've been having an issue over the past couple weeks where my servers are up and running, they show up in the Multiplayer list, but when I go to the webgui to manage them, they say the server is offline. The Game Servers page that lists all of your servers will show the servers up and running, it shows the currently loaded mission and it shows the correct mission time. Sometimes if I wait long enough, the instance that is on the standard port (10308) will eventually show that it is running. The others will change to "Server not responding". Which lead me to believe it is an issue with a port not being open or forwarded. But, it has worked for years without any issue and as far as I know the only ports needed are the client port (10308 or whatever you are using) and 8088. Unless something changed in an update. I know someone else that has the same issue, but I haven't seen anyone on here reporting the issue. Anyone else having this problem?
  2. Just discovered I don't get this in the multithreaded version.
  3. Since the last open beta patch I have these blue squares overlayed on the left eye. I've attached a screenshot. I'm using the Oculus Rift S. Any Ideas?
  4. Why would the simulator code need to count on pilots not doing things in the proper order? It's a simulator, it's supposed to behave like the real aircraft. Real aircraft have startup procedures that are followed via checklist. It's there for a reason.
  5. I was part of the airwing and ended up getting out of the Navy in the middle of the cruise that followed that collision. I had heard years later that the investigation determined the TR had started backing down. But that is about all I heard. I wondered what happened to Capt. Christenson after all the dust settled, I knew he had been selected for admiral before hand.
  6. Just curious, was this after the Roosevelt / Leyte Gulf collision? I was onboard the Roosevelt at the time. And I agree, from the deck of the carrier at least, generally, the only ship in site was the plane guard ship behind us. I would have guessed it was farther away than 3/4 mile. But it sounds like you would know better than I.
  7. I once got blown across the deck by an H53E landing. I was not prepared...
  8. Can I jump in with a related question? I've been doing this for a while for several switches. But I have to redo it after every patch. The file I am putting them in is: D:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\FA-18C\joystick\default.lua Is there a better place for it that doesn't get over written or is that what everyone has to do?
  9. But since DCS doesn't make mistakes it could be used to get your aircraft weight. In a manner that doesn't remove the realism aspect. Or wait, better yet... Maybe that's a random failure that can happen. They show you the wrong weight and you don't catch it and you get a soft cat shot.
  10. I can't test right now, but I'm pretty sure BALT only effects pitch trim. If you are not trimmed in roll and engage BALT then let go of the stick it will continue to roll while maintaining pitch. Pitch trim is maintained when BALT is deselected though.
  11. I guess your right, it does remove most of it. I didn't think it did. I should have checked first. It doesn't remove the time of day as it should, but yeah, that's not a big deal to turn off well ahead of time.
  12. I've seen a few HUD tapes that show that the data on the lower left is removed when the gear is lowered. The time of day and the G data. The AoA only shows up when AoA is out of the E bracket. It can be tough sometimes seeing the IFLOLS with all that stuff in the way. I know most of it can be removed manually. But it's not something I want to do in the groove and if I recall declutter removes some other data from the hud that you will want before getting to the groove.
  13. Request refueling So with viacom pro, there is a voice command for "Request refuel" that just refuels the aircraft without opening the rearm window. Does that mean there is a way to add a custom keybind or something to do the same? The voice command works great for me, but some of my squadron mates found out I can do it and wonder if they could do the same.
  14. I've seen what I think you are describing, but only after I have shut down and am restarting again.
  15. I suspect the real reason for no nines or zeros is that it is octal. 8 is what you can get out of 3 bits of memory. Memory is stored in binary, there are only 8 combinations of 3 zeros and ones. in order to add an additional 2 numbers requires an extra bit of memory and its a waste of memory when 8 values is enough to do the job. It's the same with transponder codes, except they use 0-7 instead of 1-8.
