Hello guys, I've been flying as a rio and I've been having a few issues with INS. I know how to ground align and everything is ok, I put the NAV mode to GND, add the plane coordinates (from the kneeboard) and wait for the INS to align, then change the NAV mode to INS. but then sometimes when I try to add a waypoint or navgrid looks like the INS messes up because I add a waypoint and on the TID it appears right on top of my aircraft! I am not really sure what is going on. So my question is: Can you ruin the INS even after a successful alignment? if so, is there anyway to fix it? I know you can do a TACAN INS fix but I think that is only for minor deviations that accumulate with time flying and maneuvering.

I've read / heard that in many wars SAM operators tended to fire into the empty air or shot ballistic shots just to scare the enemy. I would like to make a mission full of SAMS, but I would like them to just shoot in the air and not to a specific target. Is there any way to achieve that?

Hello!, I am glad you are liking the app. I can't reproduce the bug you mention. You should be able to see two buttons to move between pages. You can even manually access to the page 2 by just changing the URL: https://www.simtools.app/my-checklists?page=2 But the buttons should work. If not please tell me to check in detail what might be happening.

I frequently tend to lose track of enemy contacts while on TWS Auto, so many times I have the cue to fire an AIM-54 and do so, but then I get the X on the display indicating that the radar lost track of the contact. So I have a few questions on this situation: 1. What happens to the airborne AIM-54? Does it enter pitbull by itself? Right at the moment the radar lost the contact? 2. If I configure my radar (e.g Pulse/PD) to find the target can I lock it back and send that info to the AIM-54? Testing a bit I just got that same situation. I was in TWS Auto, fired, lost track, changed back to Pulse, found the target, STT him and the missile found the target and hit. But I am not sure what happened there. Did the missile found the target by itself? Or was it me locking the contact back again? I recorded what happened:

Thank you guys for the anwers. It is now clear how it works. I didn't know both stations were linked. I initially thought only the pilot had the control and if copilot needed the controls, pressed the BUCS Select. Now I understand its just for emergencies.

Hello Toni, first of all thanks for your profile. It is awesome and very helpful. I have a weird issue using your profile. When I turn ON the CMWS I lose about 30 fps. Turning it OFF recovers the lost FPS. As a note I downloaded the Apache lua directly from the exports library on github and I use it in conjunction with your stream deck profile. Do you have any idea on what could be wrong ? Thanks!

Has anyone experienced a massive drop in frames while using the Apache lua file and turning ON the CMWS ? Whenever I turn ON the CMWS I drop 30fps, and if I turn it back OFF I recover the lost frames. So I am a Gunner and I am flying with my pilot. He needs to go to the bathroom so I request the controls of the aircraft pressing the key C. He comes back and I give the controls back. This is a gamey way of doing right?. Would the controls be passed IRL using the BUCS Select? How does BUCS Select work? Is it an option for emergencies where your pilot is wounded or death and you press it and take the controls of the aircraft? Also, does it work in DCS? If my pilot dies, can I use the BUCS Select as Copilot/Gunner to recover the aircraft?

I am just curious. Do real Spanish Mirage F1 have the cockpit panels and labels in french too ?

Note that you will need to be in range and ask george to shoot so he can shot the laser and get the range of the target. Otherwise the mark of the TADS on the TSD will point in the direction of the target but it won't be in the correct distance. If you don't want to shot a hellfire you can ask him to select the GUN which has less range and he won't shot it if it is out of range.

As the title says, I would like to know if you can loft an AIM-120, and if so, how do you do it? Do you just point the nose of the aircraft up and shoot? Or you have to follow a HUD indication?

Are they expanding even more the Syrian Map? That is awesome!

I also pretty happy with the F-5. I don't fly it as often as the F-18, but when I do, I manage to bomb some targets (when I don't miss) and shoot some rockets without issues. People complain about the RWR, and they might be right, ED should fix it, but why shouldn't we ask for a newer variant ? After 4 years of fun with the F5 I would gladly pay too for an update.

Do anyone know if any other units have lights as well?

I'm learning about the different radar modes of the F-14 and analyzing the capabilities and numbers of each mode I just realized that RWS has a range of 90nm, but the radar doesn't create any tracks of the targets to shoot the AIM-54. TWS also has the range of 90nm and it does create profile targets to shoot the AIM-54. So my question is, why would you use RWS, when you have TWS with the same range and even more capabilities? Edit: I just realized that RWS allows you to have any config of Bars and Azimuth, while TWS forces you to some configuration of less bars and less azimuth. Is that the only difference between the two?

I got this problem too, so I decided to test what was going on and to me looks like the problem is with the fin of the bomb. I tested several times this programming the bombs as usual but with fuze on nose so the fins wouldn't open and the bombs dropped without any issues.
